I've seen a lot of experienced techs do it bare-handed. That said, I'm not one of them- and I cut my hand doing this with an iPhone 8. Depending on how bad the glass is, there may be little broken bits around the edges that are harder to see... long-story-short, I recommend gloves.

He was okay. It isn't glass. It's a resilient plastic. Also the outer surface is coated with several layers of laminate so if the back cracks or shatters the shards remain in place or splinter towards the phone. doesn't shatter.

Great video!!! I have this machine in my shop, what I do is cover the lenses with electrical tape to protect them. Also I make changes to the original template to keep the red light just inside the frame so it doesn't get hit.

We've noticed that some of the templates are a bit off around the cameras. But if you dismantle the template, you can manually move the camera section so that it doesn't burn the rings. We have a rough video on our channel that shows how to do this.

🙋♂️I have a video like this on my channel. That L shaped bracket can be adjusted if the laser is off. It can burn the metal frame a bit. First one should be practice, then adjust the bracket if the laser is off.

I have definitely learned the hard way to just leave the damn thing in it’s case. Whenever I feel like I need a change, I just change the case. Currently have 11 pro max because my x s max fell out of a uniform shirt pocket and I stepped on it without a case.
