I recently purchased a Vevor Magnetic Drill (Mag Drill), and I decided to make a stand to use it as a traditional drill press. I used a ton of tools including the Bauer 5-3/8 in. Metal Cutting Circular Saw, Benchmark Abrasives grinder wheels, and my Titanium Mig 170 Welder, also from Harbor Freight.

You might try a Pferd Victograin CC Grind disk. They are not only crazy aggressive, but they almost require you use a light touch.

I have the small Milwaukee metal cutting circular saw. It cuts 1/4" steel really well. As opposed to cutting wood with a circular saw where you want the blade to just barely protrude through the bottom of the cut, when cutting steel, I keep the blade protruding through the plate more to minimize the area of friction for the blade. Seems to help a lot.
I gave that a shot off-camera, but it felt even more dicey with this blade. I'll try that with the good blade next time I use it though!
I personally enjoy the split screen segments... also love dogs BTW

on the metal cutting circular saw, did you have the blade mounted in the proper direction? My Milwaukee cuts with the blade in the opposite direction from your standard circular saw.

Like it hopefully you will get the welds x-ray lol but seriously get a cob led light on you hood it helps night and day. great video .

Yeah, the actual drill body can move up / down the rail a good bit. The clamp is shallow, but I’m mostly using this to drill small bracket-type stuff. I’m actually in the process of building another design now too
Love the idea, I keep pushing my drill press around the shop trying to find a new place for it almost monthly. My friend says with a manual mill I don't need the drill press, But I think it is more for very dirty jobs now.

@@kudosjeg yeah, my new design is going to be much more lightweight. It sounds counterintuitive, but this heavy one is going to be my traveling one 😂. When I finish editing the rest you’ll see my engineering 😜
Where in the U.S. is there a repair facility for these mag drills?
@@ralphknoll486 I highly doubt there’s a dedicated facility / manufacturers facility. You could call vevor and see though. The price point is really low, so if you need it for pro use, I’d have another on hand or go with a different / US based brand.
If I ever have issues with it, I live close to an electric motor repair shop.
They’ve fixed up an old band saw, found electronic components for an old mig welder, and other miscellaneous things for me over the years.

My thoughts - Dogs are cool but cows are stinky and very hard to house train.
Sounds accurate, I'm not a fan of cows myself, and I've never tried house training them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
