    Yes the approach to the river tyne in tynemouth is like that. They have a low light and a high light to match up that brings them in safely into the river

    Hi Bill, That was really interesting about the lighthouse, who'd have thought it. Has Robobird been confirmed as stolen or just merely missing in inaction? Nice shots of the Mayflower as she went past. See you tomorrow mate.

      @BillsPhoneTeignmouth  Před měsícem

      Cheers Rob - Lighthouse info is up on my site now if want to take a look - Robobird? Yes and no - Last time it wasn't on the stand, people were saying it had been stolen on Facebook - 'Resorts' jumped in immediately and explained it was having a repair. This time, lots of people have been saying it, & the 'Resorts' account hasn't said a thing... Lets hope its rumours... But... Wouldn't surprise me really... 👍👍👍

    Hi Bill
    Great video as usual, especially your trip to Devon Valley holiday park which has closed down we were so surprised and shocked as it only seemed we were staying there a 7:38 couple off years ago, and back in May when we were staying in dawlish we went to Paignton on the train which passes Devon Valley and it looked like it was still open obviously its not lol.
    Any way what i was going to ask you were has all the beach/sand come from at salty dog steps I can remember it being quite a big drop off when going under the bridge and up on to the sea wall had to time the tide right other wise you would have got very wet, keep up the great vlogs love to your mum. x

    • @BillsPhoneTeignmouth
      @BillsPhoneTeignmouth  Před měsícem

      Hi Martin - The sand at Salty Dog comes from all the dredging they do at the mouth of the river. They take all the sand from that end, meaning we have virtually no beach that side of the pier, then dump it off past Holcombe. It makes its way back, and the first port of call for the sand, is by the salty dog... 👍

    • @martinsmith9031
      @martinsmith9031 Před měsícem

      Thanks for your reply Bill, I think they need to be doing something different the sand all along the sea wall has brought the beach up and in the winter when the tides are high its not going to take much for it to wash over on to the railway lines or am I not seeing it clearly?

    • @BillsPhoneTeignmouth
      @BillsPhoneTeignmouth  Před měsícem

      No, you are quite right. The only positive is that once they actually stop the constant dredging, the beach levels return to normal almost overnight. When they stop messing with nature, it corrects itself 👍👍

    Looks like Exeter Bill , down by the Exwick cricket club and that’s the river Exe in behind. I know it was celebrated after the First World War for troops returning with missing limbs and serious wounds

    Quite a mix there BIll, we have winter today with 13c and heavy rain and mist but tomorrow back to high temps and sunshine....the light would be directly behind the lighthouse only when you are central in the channel for entry, simple but accurate navigation...

    This was during WW1 ..........The 7th August was declared by the Mayoress as 'Forget Me Not Day' - a collection was made for Exeter's Hospitality Fund to provide food for the troops travelling to the front by train. I also think it's not Teignmouth but hopefully someone will have the answer. 👍

    Hi Bill, who in their right mind would think it fun to set fire to the toilets. Most inconvenient pardon the pun, as for robo bird being stolen it just beggars belief.
