It never gets old seeing those SRT-10 trucks!
My dream truck, if I ever get my bank account to cooperate
I had the same one in this video and I currently own a 15 platinum I will say the srt was a beast I will definitely buy another one.
Srt vehicles are the only rides that hit my driveway. I have a 2014 srt grand cherokee and a 2005 acr srt4 and I had a 2008 srt8 grand cherokee but I totaled it last year. My jeeps were the fastest until I dropped around 15 grand in acr. After dropping all the money into it rust started popping up so now I'm in the middle of welding new panels on it.
@Lincoln Ls Ahead of it's time. , Triton/Modular V10 engine: "Am I a joke to you"?
@Juicey Jiang , do you have a picture of yourself in real life?
*We all came for the drag race and we all didn't get it.*
I knew i shoulda waited to look at the comments :/ damn it
Exactly
Not all of us.
Ok guys, don't get your panties in a knot. that's probably in the last one of this build.
They didnt get the single cab cause nobody on the show can drive stick.
When he said the 48re is a strong transmission, everyone that ever owned a Dodge Cummins auto yelled WRONG! The 48 re is notorious for being weak. Especially if you go over stock power levels.
Lol as they say. The Ram body was just a shipping container for the Cummins engine. Literally nothing with that Mopar badge will be reliable. The frame will rust out and the transmission will be on its 15th rebuild before the Cummins actually dies.
Bob Sagget Then why do I have a 04 1500 that has no rust with 270k mikes. If you don’t clean your frame, or truck in general of course it’s gonna rust.
😂😂you got to it before i did. I laughed out loud when he said that.
@@alpha2gproject783 Funny because from what I hear the ford and chevys rot out way worse than the dodge especially up in the salt belt of New York. Check out Andrew Camarata channel.
@@lukelanam6045 More internet meemdoms... I have never had any problems with my mopar transmissions..
Why would you pick a EcoBoost over a 5.0 literally just bolt a supercharger and tune make 650 hp.
Absolutely agree.
It'S gOt 2 TuRbOs
Yeah.. Seen F-150 Sport with a Coyote.. Super Charge That...
@Ballsacksaswinging if you tune a EcoBoost you void the warranty and at 550hp the EcoBoost engine is majorly strained nearing its max output while still being reliable.
Because picking a coyote would have been cool thats why they didn't choose it
I purchased a Srt10 quad cab Hennessey Venom 800 I found in a garage with 8000 miles on it a year ago.3 gearboxes later its reliable, and a lot of fun!
should manual swap it!
@@austinoakley7391 the manual would explode if you tried pushing that much power through it in a heavy quad cab truck.
That SRT-10 needs that Tremec 6 speed.
Skip to 7:30 to go past two dainty guys talking about trucks.
Have Drone Will Travel thank you! The beginning of these shows are insufferable
Have Drone Will Travel not all heroes wear capes .
Dainty guys...Priceless.
Dainty is being nice.
Thanks
8:43 they hold hands and ol dude with the weird accent instantly regrets it.
I caught that too.
Haha you guys are jokes
Direct Reply good one.
Bromance gone wrong
Cuz ur high bro
Chrysler does not make the Dana 60... Dana Corporation, founded 1904. makes the Dana 60
Just like Dodge doesnt make the cummins.
Now the Nissan boys are jumping on the bandwagon
@@19jody72 right lmaooo
@@fords4life914 lmao.. yeah man. They put a Cummins in Ford too..but you dont hear us Ford guys crying over it
@@19jody72 What Cummins goes into a Ford? Lol....
@@armyboy1207 the F650 and 750 up until a few yrs ago......lol
8:42 A little bromance 😎
I’m actually very excited for this builds hope they do the roe supercharger on the viper vs turbocharged EcoBoost
That dudes accent is so inconsistent like it sounds fake and I can’t tell what it is
Sometimes its johny bravo
You’re talking about the shorter dude right?
They're faking southern accents and it drives me crazy. The short dude sounds like a cartoon prospector from Louisiana half the time, and the other dude just plain sounds Canadian but maybe lives in the south lol.
the actual factory tires where 305/40/22 perelli p-zero tires and these trks are fun i have a 05 reg cab with the tremic 6-speed in flame red
V10 vs V6 TT? Really? I'm a Ford fan but honestly If I was building a Muscle truck I would pick the Viper Powered truck hands down.
Wait a minute where's the drag race
They didn't wanna show that ecoboost beat that v10 into the ground
@@FrequencyOfThought True. They should replace the road course time with a 1/4 mile time. In fact, I think thats why the one dude picked the 4 x 4.
@@BobbyOfEarth It's pretty simple math really, the 3.5 High Output version of the f150 weighs about 600 pounds less and is direct injected with twin turbos. It's a nasty bitch that smokes most big tuned trubo diesels
They didn't show cause the f150 put a massive whooping on the dud
I think they were going for a different build by getting the EcoBoost f-150, but I'd definitely pick that SRT-10 over the EcoBoost, or even a 5.0. Those Viper engines can take some massive power, saw a video couple months ago where someone put twin turbos on a Viper and it Dyno'd 2200 hp, can't remember if it was a built engine but the turbos were so large they simply removed the hood so they'd fit. But yeah, either way the Viper v10 has so much room to grow, there's only so much that v6 can take before it cracks. Plus it's Ford, reliability is def a concern with those. I'm a Chevy guy all day (I own an 04 Tahoe 5.3l with 310k on the clock with absolutely no issues aside from battery, water pumps, and recently the ECM for the transmission) but I would definitely pick that RAM over just about any other Chevy engine in a 2500 or below.
Pretty good video, was wanting to see a stock drag race, 0-60 times though.
Yep. But the 5.3 is such a weak engine.
Is there a part 2 coming to show what you've done to improve on these pickups? I have an 05 SRT 10, and I'm interested to learn the upgrades done to see if I'd like to do the very same upgrades?? Thanks, guys for the video idea, just waiting for the results.
All those tests and no drag racing, come on guys. 99.9% of viewers would take their trucks to the strip before the road course. 🤯
OMG I freaking love this! I'm Ford all the way, but this is gonna be stiff comp.
I wish it were a 5.0 with some aftermarket boost and a tune, but hey. If you guys ever wanna beef up a 13 f-150 fx4 5.0, you just let me know. 😉✊
Especially if they keep holding hands on camera don't want to know what happens after the cameras get turned off
@@1STGeneral I just threw up
I had an SRT-10 just like that one. I loved it and wished I never had to part with it. But I needed a 3500 4x4 so I had to trade it. I was going to put the Viper twin-turbo system on it to bring it up to 1000hp. Maybe I should try doing that soon. :))
The Ecoboost with an E85 tune and intake/ exhaust mods can see 600lb/ft of torque, It's a damn good engine.
@Richard Skipper your comment < empirical data.
EcoBoost when turned properly can be amazing
Yep. Totally agree. Dodge is the most unreliable truck built now and it was then to. They look good but that's about it.
15 year old heavy Viper truck still putting fear into the hearts of noobs.
I guess everyone forgot about the Dakota r/t
Gone, but never forgotten 🤙🏻
Weren't they like 250 hp from a 5.9?
omnipresent video yes and they made like 360 ft lb of torque. I had one. You could be going 30 mph and slam the gas down, it would smoke both back tires. You didn’t need the break to do a burnout.
8 Bit Ben those are cool trucks a neighbour has one it’s a 04’ with the 5.9 little single cab. Very light weight and it just has a few bolt on mods and is a ton of fun to drive quite fast! I try to get him to sell it to me often lol
8 Bit Ben i know I didn’t that’s my favorite truck I got the Durango rt in the same body style those 5.9s have so much potential
15:14 Obviously, that's a limited slip or locker of some kind. IDK of many 4x4s that came with an open rear diff in the last decade.
When he said the 48RE is a strong transmission😂😂
Eco boost will never be a muscle anything!
Yeah but the srt-10 is v10 so no muscle truck
@Picachuu 3 put a turbo or a supercharger on a coyote v8 and see there
Well my 3.5 beats any stock dodge, Toyota, Chevy, or any other truck. So.
Angel Ayon lol yea that engine only won Lemans
Thunder Road it won once and then they ford pulled it this year because they weren’t winning
Nice battle guy. Can wait to see the end results
I will be getting one of those SRT-10s Ram not gonna lie. Yeah its a Ram shoot me, personally I've always really liked Rams/Dodge.
The 2015 F150 Platinum was sold with the same tune as the Raptor. There was some big deal made about it. It was an optional high output model only available in the Raptor and Platinum.
Are you sure I know the limited trim had the raptor tune but not the platinum
It wasn’t until 2019 that ford put the same engine in the limited trim as the raptor. In 2015 their wasn’t any raptor available it was in hiatus after ford pulled the 6.2l engine from production in the raptor.
No the high output "Raptor" engine came out in 2019 with the limited edition and I got to say I love my 2020 limited edition! 450 hp and 510 Pound feet of torque...!!
Not true at all.
Looking forward to future episodes.
I'm not a Ford guy but Ken Block's HooniTruck should tell you all ya need to know about what that Ecoboost can do.
Yeah, There were 2.4L neon engines making that much power.
This episode reminds me of the deadliest warrior episode where they compared robot vs pilgrim.
weird how the viper is 6 lugs, but the truck is 5 lugs
8:42 That awkward moment when another man puts his hand over yours 🤣
Why does the intro sound like rage against the machine lol
All the music is recognizable songs that are changed enough to avoid a lawsuit. My guess anyways.
Very cool video. I think it would have been nice to see what the times would be if yall switched trucks. See if you could beat each others times with their own truck.
There’s a lot of meat left on the bone with the 3.5 EcoBoost. I’ve seen them pushing 900 hp. Remember, forged bottom end from the factory, and lots of turbo upgrades to be had.
Yea just like there are 2000hp 8.3L Viper engines.
@@TheXOoftheRO exactly lol
8:44 oh no we touched hands😂
8:42 awkward asf hahaha
That ecoboost really falls off at the top end on that initial pull
yea they should have chose a 5.0 10 Speed truck..those are very slept on I think
Bracc SN95 definitely woulda represented ford better with that one
I remember seeing one on a Used Lot but it was a Single Can with a Manual. Man I wanted that thing. Unfortunately it was in Cali. and I was on R&R. Plus I lived in NC.
2015 I believe you could still get the factory installed supercharger ordered on the Tundra. I think that would run pretty hard against those 2.
I'm a Ford guy but the srt10 is a boss!
Carl Johnson - Me too - the Ford ALL DAY LONG! That Dodge is seriously UGLY to me though!
The Dodge?ummm FIAT RAM really is a joke (toy)
Im really excited to see the conclusion of what is done to these trucks. And there new found power gifted to them.🍻🍻🍻
The guy trying to hard with the arm tats kills this video..
The best episode so far
Srt10 guy “two cup holders in the front and two cup holders in the back “ lol 😂
hes right about the f150 being a grandpa truck though lol
A sport truck against a comuter truck?
Why?
Dave Taylor it’s a build off, that eco boost can make a lot of power
That EcoBoost can go deep 11s with like $3k in mods.
Gordon Bombay the coyote can go faster for less. I don’t understand the love for ecoboost when the coyote is just better
@@sirdavidr6064 no it can't. The Coyote is heavier. In order for the coyote to compete you need a supercharger. Way more than three grand for a proper supercharger.
@@gordonbombay676 what mods besides a tune and intake and exhaust?
The SRT-10 Viper truck is my all time favorite. Can’t wait to see them build this up!!
Wet spots when the Ford pulled away after the track test. Did he have the damn AC on? Hahaha
Can't wait to see that V-10 come alive....
I was looking for a first gen raptor. But I'm so happy I bought my srt10. I'm not gonna baja anytime soon.. it was a 1/4 less then what I wanted to spend
Hey sell me your hood lol
Nice!!! Remember to upload the full series in one video!!
Luxurious interior on the SRT 10 😂
Dammm he stepped on some toes pretty flower
IMHO The ford should’ve been a coyote
Coyotes slower than ecoboost
john panty ya that’s crazy to think of
john panty And I think the 5.0 isn’t even their fastest engine in the f150s it’s one of the v6 ecoboost but I’m not sure
@@jackden2245 yea EcoBoost is faster in the truck and less problems
Wouldn't matter, 505ci in the dodge. If they really wanted to 1k hp is easily capable.
You need to do another video like this and bring in Stacey David with a truck of his choice.........make it a 3 way shoot out. Or, maybe have him bring in his "Project Copperhead" for a 3 way shootout finale.
You should have included a 1/4 mile shootout with each truck making 3 passes before starting your mods, and then include the same after the mods.
These guys really don't know that only Platinum F150s come with the raptor 3.5 V6's.
Now Im thinking that might be only latemodels
They don't though
I don't think it does
It’s the limited dummy not the platinum
good run 👍 its quick
A magazine did a test on a Ford Ecoboost V-6 turbo and a Chevrolet V-8 LS and the V-8 got better mileage. So Ford advertises the Ecobost as an economy choice.
I like how the running boards stuck down. #platiproblems
dammit...i want that new episode of the build now lol
two of the most different trucks ever made
Performance trucks, count me in!
the truck build off is gonna be crazy
How long before they can replace the annoying Cajun?
Could be worse. Could be some annoying yankee from NY or the Midwest.
@R Mack nailed it. He overcompensates so hard he skips between his 3 or 4 fake accent tracks every time he trips over his swagger.
It's like "dude! Just relax and be you and stop trying to be cool!"
He's obviously got the skills for the show and that's all any of us give a crap about.
Put that platinum on sport mode I’d be taking Chevys all day with my ecobitch
bigger turbskis and e85 will set you free
@@srirachasauce8430 just a tune is all it takes.
@@lenwoodcruze3594 Have fun voiding your warranty mate.
@@CJColvin who needs warranty? 🤷♂️
Of course it has a turbo. Let’s put a turbo in a Chevy to make it even and see who wins. Only Ford guys would take wins anyway they can because they can’t strait up 😂
05 ram against 15 ford 10 yr differences why not the lightning or harley from same yr.
They bought by budget not by trying to do an exact comparison. Which is what most people do.
I've always wanted a SRT-10
I kinda dig the sleeper vibe of that F-150. The SRT-10 is obviously a muscle truck, and a rare production model, but the Ford is something you see everyday. Also Austin isn’t that bad guys lay off
How about putting 10 gallons of gas in each and racing to see who goes the farthest? LOLin
I love the SRT and driven many since the used car lot I worked at sold a plenty, but dang at that fuel mileage. I think it's like 8-10 MPG. Of course, it probably gets the same MPG loaded, unloaded, coasting down hill, accelerating, or falling out of an airplane.
You dont buy that truck and worry about that bs
Good to See Charlie and Mac doing Truck reviews. Should probably be sponsored by Fight Milk though.
This could get interesting, considering that with just a tune, injectors, intake, down pipe, and exhaust that 3.5 will pick up 150hp and probably 200lb-ft. And that’s without touching the turbos and the plumbing.
Ford underates from the factory. Especially on the ecoboost
Please tell me this format will run 4ever ...love #TruckTech
Is that the guy from "it's always sunny in Philadelphia"?
The only man to ever put 48re and strong in the same sentence
Why not do sport truck against a sport truck srt10 vs Shelby f150 to scared of the snake
The Shelby price would put them way over budget.
@@allanb3222 is correct. The Shelby would blow the buy-in budget. A better match up I feel would be a GEN 2 F-150 Lightning.
@@forpointsix4.678 eh i doubt it. I build performance modular engines and if you really want to make power with them reliably you basically need to throw away everything but the block and crank on those trucks.
Boost rules!!..
i have the ecobeast
Yeah until Turbos break and then costs tons of money to get new turbos install.
cool
“It must have a tune!” Or...just maybe...Ford underrated the figures like many manufacturers have done over the years.
Saleen makes a F150 still, most now make 700hp. My local Ford dealership sells all performance levels and I get to see them everyday I drive by.
I have an Eco-Boost. Combined for my driving. I get a total of 21 mpg. I doubt you get that with the SRT-10. I've got plenty of power and torque when I need it... yet responsible gas mileage. My caveat with this is: If you need an everyday working truck. Get a V-8 or more. If you need and weekend work truck (occasional hard jobs), and you tool around in your truck. For gas mileage, you might consider the Eco-Boost.
Would have preferred a V-10 shoot out. And GPS for speed checks.
When did Chrysler start making dana axles?
I guess you could build the 3.5 ecoboost up to the Ford GT 650+ HP option....
"What are you trying to prove?" Why are you jealous?🤔
The regular cab RT 8sp is faster than the quad cab automatic SRT10.
Lost me at "POZY-TRAK".
Who calls a v6 f150 a muscle truck? That's funny
They run 11’s with a tune, e85, and a high pressure fuel pump. That’s pretty muscle to me.
@8:43 they uncontrollably touch hands😂
Kyle Hampton 😂😭
The SRT just has to be The Rock's daily driver!
How did you yahoo’s not do a drag race?
Srt-10 and TRX are insane
My man really said the 48RE was a strong transmission💀
If you are gonna do this then you oughta [Do it right] just how you did for Lightning vs 454SS. So put a single turbo on the SRT since its forged internals can candle it with the trans after a Suncoast rebuild. As for the V6 F150... idk, that's not a performance engine as proven by its absence in anything motorsport related during its 10+ year run so I'd swap it out for a Gen 2 Coyote unless you want to be one of the 3 people who have stuffed a Ecoboost V6 with built internals, larger turbos, fuel injection system and a way to control it all. It would be different if Ford designed its Ecoboost V6 like Nissan did with its VR38 but they didn't so don't expect GTR levels of parts, power and potential when modifying.
8:42 things got awkward 👀
Driver was aroused, other guy not so much.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Should have done it against the eco raptor , handles very well even on a track
Dogde Ram trucks all the way....
Hey this might be a silly question, but can the ring & pinion from the SRT10 fit a 2015-20 Challenger Hellcat?
And what was the gear ratio in the Manual version of the Ram SRT10??
I don’t know exactly but feel like the size would be too big. Dana 60 vs the small thing challenger has, I’d imagine it wouldn’t fit
kunu98 thanks. I was just wondering
No they are completely different rear ends made by completely different companies. Nothing interchanges between them.
