    Just recoeved the rear suspension upgrade for the RF and will be doing rhe installation tonight. Thanks for your hard work on these and other parts.

      @therealderjett Před rokem

      @@AMPROEngineering just completed the install and this is how the RF should have been from the factory. It also helps fix a weak spot. The lower screw in the transmission is no longer the lowest point on the car.

  • @Zack-nj3ej
    @Zack-nj3ej Před rokem

    I installed the cross bar and side mounts a couple weeks ago along with the transmission brace as well and I’ll say that it made a huge improvement in the way that buggy performe.
    In regards to the stock wheels, although they are not the best looking, I don’t think they are that bad. 😊
    Thanks for these awesome purposeful upgrades!

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před rokem

      Yeah I agree, they arent great but they do have some style to them. Glad you like the parts!

      Thank you, that was my goal. I knew there was something that I didn't like about the RF and it was the stink bug look.

  • @modelnutty6503
    @modelnutty6503 Před 7 lety +1

    really NICE rear shock mount for all that it does. my criticism about the Hornet back when, is the high+forward+offset mounting of the motor. if they had changed it more centered and rotated it back about 130 degrees (barely above but behind axle), might do wonders for the O/A weight distribution of these bathtubs. like: kinda halfway to grafting in a Tamiya FOX style gearbox for motor location. what we used to do: cut out the rear top section of the battery compartment to stuff a 3+3 saddle pack in (cells vertical), putting a little more the weight into the rear wheels helped.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety

      Yes you are right. These cars need more weight on them and now with LiPo batteries, I have to run wheel weights in my cars otherwise they are not nearly as derivable.

    I like that you added support ribs to the inside of the rear wheels. I've never bought a 3D printed wheel before.... I worry, because they take the most abuse on the whole car (barring smashing into trees, poles, Great Danes😲).
    However, since I've been using my Lunchbox, with your front, and rear suspension kits on it - they appear to be MUCH stronger than you claim!! OK, I may be a more experienced driver, and haven't plunged head on into solid objects often.....
    But I've jumped it, rode through some woods, bouncing over several branches and rocks, at pretty good speed. Bashed it pretty hard.
    So, yeah. I've developed a lot more confidence in getting some wheels! 😎👍👍

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety +1

      Wheels were a big scare to me too. Then Superfly 1 happened and you have no idea what that car has been through at the track. That thing has been crashed into and smashed more times I can think of and nothing has ever, ever, ever broken. But like you, I am experienced and have no intention of taking some of the massive jumps at the track at full speed. I know the limits of the car and the limits of the material. With that said, the car has been a joy!

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks Před 7 lety

      So.... if I understand this correctly, SLS is printed using hot Nylon...
      That leads me to believe that when cured and cooled, because Nylon is very malleable and shape compliant, that it should really cure into a fairly flexible, yet solid structure.
      So it shouldn't be any weaker or stronger than any other Nylon, of the same dimensions, right?
      I really only have a basic understanding of the 3D printing process... and I'm dumb as a brick with CAD!!! 😲😜😜

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes that is correct in how it cures but the main weakness comes in how it is made, in layers. Injected nylon doesn't have a grain like printed nylon. It is the grain that causes the added weakness. Look up SLS Nylon on CZcams. The way it is made is amazing.

    Sweet looking Grasshopper II/Hornet III/ Rising Fighter. I do have one stock and newly built but the loud crash of the rear transmission mount has turned me off running it.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety +1

      Uhg you are telling me...that's why I made the brace for the hornet and the CW01. A brace for these cars is way harder. I know I can get a GH2 and RF brace but the Super Hornet, thanks to the lower shock mount, is next to impossible to make a central pivot.

    my RF is at the point now that I need to lower the CG.... sport tuned can, bearing upgrade, ampro trans-slap eliminator (love this mod) is all it took to make this thing roll when turning at top speed. got my oil shocks in the mail, might as well do the rear bar upgrade while i'm at it >:D this car is so much damn fun !!

    • @AMPROEngineering

    • @gogotrololo
      @gogotrololo Před 5 lety +1

      it's the jalopy appeal. do i buy an expensive car that i get to drive at 100% for 2% of my time on the road? or do i buy the suffering nugget that i get to drive 110% just to keep it in traffic?! This RC makes even the most mundane tests seem so much more thrilling, you just need to get your mind on the level!
      That being said, those 2.5x18mm screws are hard to come by. Even online I had to get a bulk order of 50 of them jut to not waste cash. Do you know what kit might have had those?

  • @quesnoy1
    @quesnoy1 Před rokem

    Was thinking about picking one of these up. Does your central pivot rear suspension link also work for this kit? I'm assuming it does since it's for the Hornet, which is the same chassis, I think...

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před rokem

      I do make in specifically for the Rising fighter. Despite the same chassis as the Super Hornet, the trans and trans mounts(sliders) are totally different. Please see episode 67 for the trans brace.

  • @CarmineRC
    @CarmineRC Před 7 lety +3

    I see another advantage of the Rising Fighter for your comparison. The Trans in the RF has a MUCH lower mounted motor. That's going to lower the overall center of gravity!
    Are you going to come out with an IRS front suspension for this one, like you have for the Hornet/Grasshopper? I'm one of those who have overlooked this car.... because it's SO basic. I may have to get one now!
    Is there anything you're planning to do with the Holiday Buggy series?

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety +2

      Yes I have! Let me say that it is awesome too. Episode 32! I have been meaning to work on the vintage Holiday Buggy and Sand Rover but every time I am bidding on one on eBay, they always get taken at the last minute!

    • @CarmineRC
      @CarmineRC Před 7 lety +2

      That IS frustrating, isn't it? I now see a Rising Fighter in my future. I believe that with the lower motor, and your suspension mods... it can be quite a capable ride!!
      I'm not nuts about translucent transmission though. But, that's why PAINT was invented!

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety +2

      Well the stock RF should have a black trans, the translucent one was on the mad fighter?

      Carmine Allocca - Hi bro!! You're all over the place! Now that you told me that your landlord is going to cut you guys some breaks, and that she was a big fan of our Band in the 80's!! 😎👏🍺🍺🍺 So, $380.00 will buy you guys another month of safety and air conditioning? That's making me double my efforts! I'll be more careful though, I promise. In my frustration and desperation, I was too short with the people I was asking for money for you guys. 😢 THAT won't happen again. I'll find SOME people here to help. Take it easy, Sgt. I'm on it!

    @NordicRC Před 7 lety +1

    When do you plan to do the RF 'no-slap-mod'? Sorry for being so impatient. Just took my RF for it's first spin and bought a Super Hornet to compare. We really need a complete solution to the rear. It MUST be lowered and the articulation in the rear center must be fixed. Waiting to buy a complete solution from you, both mods :-)

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety +1

      Haha! Soon I promise. That is a quick fix so I need to get on it. The Grasshopper 2 is also easy but the super hornet is a disaster. I don't think that one is possible without a 3rd shock. I think the lower mount I made for the RF is a massive help to the ride height as it lowers it a huge amount without changing many parts. I will get that done soon!

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC Před 7 lety +2

      AMPRO Engineering Great!!! Then I can order a complete rear solution for the RF. It's gonna be a whole different buggy :-)

    • @NordicRC

    Do you know if a black foot can handle a brushless system.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety

      Oh man....I know im going to get in trouble for this one. Yes and No. Yes if your goal is for increased efficiency and run time and you set the end points way back to reduce speed/acceleration then yes. If you want to just go fast, no. The diff can not handle that. Even with braces, the cheap aluminum diff gears will tear them selves apart. On top of that, the counter gear is way too thin. All my opinions though. I am working on a diff (long shot) that will solve, not patch, the diff issue but the trans was never designed with modern power systems in mind. Hope that helps.

      @verdman54 Před 6 lety

      Also, do you have any plans to make parts to modify other tamiya models in the future? The super clod buster could sure use some improvements. Specifically, it has problems driving and steering in a straight line which I think is partially a shock problem as well as a steering mechanism.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 6 lety

      Well certainly nothing recently out of Tyco (do they even make anything since the Mattel acquisition?) but boy, the late 1980's and early 90's had some seriously great cars come out of Tyco. The Turbo Bandit, the Turbo Hopper, Fastrax...all awesome, fast and durable! Man I want a Bandit again...
