Everytime i listen another memory. I was young but still have this 45. And a couple 70s turntables. Unfortunately lost my record player in an old house. But just now I thought about how quiet Sundays were back then. Stores closed. Lot's of church goers. Me riding my bike on a summer day. That was my first bike. My dad got it from the town dump. I didnt own one before that. But i sure appreciated it. Delivering heavy sunday newspapers in the morning. Then just having fun.loved the Young Rascals music. Also reminded me of being at the beach on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with the transister radio!!! Just needed to share. Thanks for posting. I think ill listen to the Cowsills, We Can Fly, next anoher happy time!✌️🎸☮️👍

Hello Jeannie. This is for you!! Hope you are well! 56 plus years have gone by. I can't ever forget you! Had I, it would mean that you meant nothing to me! PS - 143!!
Incredible song! I wish I could convey to you all, the meaning of this song. From 28 March - 27 July 1967, I was dating and deeply in love with a beautiful young woman (18), from Eden, NY. I was also 18, and from Holland, NY. After early enlistment, (still in HS) in March 1967, I was destined for Marine Corps Recruit Depot, (MCRD), Parris Island, SC, 27 July 1967. Arrived in Vietnam, 03 Jan 1968. A 15-month tour. Survived. Returned Apr 1969. This song in particular, calms the demons inside. Now at 75, I can relive those precious moments, frozen in time.

He still has that unique sound in his voice. Even McCartney has lost some. But these great true musicians in every sense gave us some of the greatest music in history. And they were rockin in the 60s. Just amazing talent and gifts to us who were fortunate enough to have lived in those great and turbulent time's. The world changed so much from late 50s to late 80s. When I think bacck at soooo much change. But the music was the best and was probably the greatest part. It all had meaning. Bittersweet 😊😢❤❤🥴☮️🎹🎸👍📻

One thing that nailed down early on the thought that I was born at the right time was how much I loved the tunes, playing drums, and the whole late-sixties-into-the-seventies shift in social sensibilities. The (formerly Young) Rascals occupy a singular position in my appreciation with roots beginning in my boyhood innocence and morphing into being a viable seduction tool in my adolescence/adulthood and morphing again into a kind of meditation/therapy/reminiscence dance party. Tower of Power once asked the musical question "What Is Hip?"
A half-century of appearing regularly on the turntable means you are in all likelihood hipper than hip.

Great memories growing up with this song. Fishing on Toledo Bend catching a lot of fish with my family in a embarrassing looking Batman Boat with 57 Cadillac style wings on the back, the cowl, engine cover even had them. We were poor but had a lot of love, plus fish and hush puppies to eat all week. LOL 😂

@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum thanks for the hall. I don't respect the Ohio version. It's popular but so many negative things I won't get into. Just thanks for doing what you do. Hope everyone supports this hall . Peace friend.☮️✌️🎸🎹

The sound of there music immediately invokes a feeling...a season
    .a time or a place.
Or all of the above...whatever it does is indescribable and euphoric and nostalgic to the core... And most of what i JUST described is in hearing Felix's otherworldly voice! ;)

‘How Can I Be Sure’ by David Cassidy was a great song back in ‘72. I thought Cassidy wrote it but the names in the brackets said otherwise! That song led me to the Dusty Springfield version and then further back to The Rascals. Cavaliere and Brigati wrote some fine tunes!

I love all his songs, but I've always thought "Ain't gonna eat out my heart anymore" is very under-rated.

Always loved this song which I would describe as sunny day music along with Daydream and Are you going to San Francisco. I always misheard the lyrics as "life could be ecstacy, you and me and Lesley" which I prefer to the correct words.
