It just started raining around where I live and my wiper blade was completely dilapidated from a summer in the sun. I don't use the rear one near as often as I use the front wipers, but I like having a resh one on there for when it is needed. I also don't like driving around with pieces of rubber hanging off and don't want the metal parts of the wiper rubbing on the window constantly, so it was time for a change. I didn't find the replacement blade everywhere I looked, so I thought it might be annoying for other people looking for it too. In this quick video I show a full replacement and it takes two minutes! Watch how to change the rear wiper blade on a Subaru Outback and leave any questions or comments below. As always, I appreciate thumbs up and new subscribers! Have a good one.

Wow, that just saved me a lot of time. I even watched the full commercial as a courtesy. Many Thanks!
Thank you!!! 2021 and this was still the most helpful video ever
Thanks, first time replacing mine, so easy after watching your video.
Thank you for the clear and thorough instructions. The guy who sold me the blade couldn't remove the old blade. After watching your video, I removed the old blade and added the new one. The most complicated part was holding the flashlight with my chin since both hands were on the blade!
Thank you for posting this! I was able to replace my rear blade quickly after watching your video. 🙂
Thanks so much! I've had the replacement blade in the back of my Outback for months because I couldn't figure out how to get the old one off. Your demonstration and explanation was so clear and simple! Thank you!
Excellent! I am glad to help. Take care:)
And he did it with one hand while filming 👏
I should get a tripod! Lol
Perfect! Just what I needed and was able to do my wiper in less than 15 secs! ❤️
Thanks so much for this video! You saved me a lot of time - I struggled for about 20 minutes with the front wipers. With your video the rear wiper took me three minutes to replace. I have a 2012 Outback and your parts were the same as mine. I got my replacement blade at a local auto parts shop. Thanks!
Thank you SO much!! I was fighting with this for about 15 minutes. Your video helped me put the arm back on in seconds! You the man!!
Thank you! I’ve changed dozens of blades over the years but this one stumped me. 👍
This video was awesome!!! Thank you.
I’m glad it helped!
Man, I hate it when companies decide to reinvent the wheel. This was what I inferred from the new blade but dang it felt like I was going to break the wiper arm.... probably the goal to sell more wiper arms. Thanks for confirming my plan of attack, I expect this part to fail within first five years with the heating/cooling cycles where I live
Thank you so much. I was trying to muscle it off to no avail and was afraid I was going to have to get help. But I was able to do it myself!
Thank you! Your instructions worked exactly! 😁
I’m glad it helped!
Thank you so much. I tried to figure it out but not wanting to break it, I swallowed and CZcamsd it :-) thanks again.
I am glad it helped:)
Your explanation worked! The Subaru manual said to rotate it counter clockwise to remove, did not work. You should be a technical writer for Subaru. Thanks!!
If anyone is wondering, the part is 14B for 2011 outback. Standard 14's won't work
Too easy. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Better video needed
Thanks for this! I have a crosstrek and the manual somehow felt I needed to be pivoting things counter clockwise. Didn't seem to be working. Found this video and was able to replace it more quickly than time it took me to find the (not helpful) section in the user manual.
I'm glad it helped!
Thank you so much! The back wiper came off while I was clearing snow off and i was panicking a bit there bc I had to get to work
If you cannot find the one with the central pin, you can just remove the silicone of the old one and replace it with the silicone in the new one.
I had to do that because the Rainx ones that I had had no central pin nor any ability to get down to that within its assembly because of the nonstandard Subaru mount.
Thank you! Valuable video
Thank You you are a big help
2:44 am. Thank you for explaining step by step. Where did you order from online?
Yeah, it’s hard to get there in this publisher app but it’s in the description.
Thank you so much. I could not figure it out.
You rule thanks!!
Man, I would love to have that many pinballs! When I was born my parents owned an arcade.
thank you so much 2020
Thank you
Thanks!
Thank you!!
My pleasure!
Thank you!!! 🎉🎉
😁😁😁
Thank you!! 😁
I’m glad it helped!
Thank You
Thanks for watching!
is it absolutely necessary to buy the entire wiper assembly? or could we also just get the actual wiper blade inserts with the metal inserts to hold in place? only reason i ask is that the assembly blade holder seems like it should be fine to re-use
WiseOne19 I will have to take a look. You may be able to buy a similar sized insert and make it work, but there weren't any listed that fit. It's a good idea though. Let us know if you try it:)
@@KetoKevin I bought the $ 5.00 rubber kit at Canadian tire. Doesn't work as the replacement rubber is too wide for the slots on the blade holder.
You skipped the part I needed to see- removing the hinge cover so the blade can be lifted.
I think mine was missing already, if I remember correctly.
@@KetoKevin No problem. The blade can be changed with the cover in place. On my Toyota it must be completely removed else it will break.
don't need to remove the cover - just pull the wiper towards you and it'll remain in place...no worries. B^)

for Subaru wiper blades i just went to a Subaru dealership and purchased them. Front ones were $ 18 bucks a piece. I didn't need the rear but they said 14 bucks. To me it wasn't worth putting cheap blades on my Subaru + they wern't much cheaper anywhere else. Beam style is the way to go there tensioned much better to the winshield.
Any Subaru dealer sells just the rubber insert for about $5 and you don’t even need to remove the blade from the vehicle. Just slide the old rubber out and slide the new one in.
Didnt know this. Just bought the wiper at Canadian Tire for around $15 + 15% tax.
Do you have a part number?

Went to change mine and found it looked nothing like any other connection I've ever seen. It's like they came up with a new connection type just to be annoying. Good job, Subaru
Right!? And sure, it definitely sticks fine once you're sure it's in but I was definitely not prepared for that connection!
Thank you! The manual was useless as neither of the steps was relevant
No, it's hard to see because it's focusing on your background instead of the thing in your hand...
Ok. Thanks.
Thanks. Now wash that thing
Blade only replacement. Not housing. 👎🏻
Doesn’t the title say that…
@@KetoKevin The blade housing is replaced in the video.
I see. So you are looking to replace just the rubber. 🤷🏻♂️ seems like more of a hassle than it’s worth. Did you figure out how to do it cheaply and easily?
@@OlExtraRegularBassdo you have a video replacing the blade only?
@@trevorturner6921 No. It was a real live pain in the ass, too.
