Thanks. I tried to figure out my wife's rear wiper blade for 10 minutes before finding your video. Took me 15 seconds after watching your video.
I watched a couple of videos before I found this, one guy was demonstarting how to change front wipers, struggled with it, covered whatever he was doing with his hand, said hmmm, how does this piece come off?, which is when I went to the next video, this guy was doing it with one hand while he held his phone with the other, occasionally getting the wiper in focus and struggled to even get the wiper protector off with one hand and finally got it done but skipped the rear wiper,. I had figured the front wipers out wasnt sure how the rea was removed so I then typed - replaceing rear wiper on 2021 Ascent premium and found this concise, excellent video, no talking for 5 minutes about what you were about to show, no dark garage with a flaslight illuminating the work once in a while, just straight forward, in focus, closeups for detail, the way a youtube video should be made! You've restored my faith in youtube videos!
Great video ur a genius thanks. 😊
Thank you! Front ones were so easy but this one had me baffled. 👍
The same here. I was afraid to twist/turn the rear wiper any further. There were instructions in the box for the front wipers but not the back.
Simple straight, and to the point great video.
Thanks, this is good to know when it comes time to replace my Crosstreks wipers. My 18 is now 2 years old and I have only 5800 miles on it and the wipers are fine. Also all my recalls are complete as of 12/9/2019.
Your video made my day, thanks very much.
Great video guy gets right to the point
Oh my goodness. This is a great video, but it's not working! I've been struggling for an hour!!! Does something this small need to be so difficult???
Does not work on the outback since they use this OEM style wiper mount. I was able to remove it using this method, but not install a new one from the local auto store.
What I was able to do was to take the existing one out, removed silicone assembly, and put in a new wiper silicone from the new wiper and scrap the rest of it
Thank you my friend.
Quick and easy. :)
Are they all the same on many generations and models? My Kia also goes on like this.
Huh didn't work at all
So you cannot just replace the rubber instead of the whole assembly? Thks..jc
In general that will depend on the design of the wiper blade, but on these rear Crosstrek wiper blades, I don't think I've seen any options that have an easily replaceable wiper blade element. They might exist, since I can't say I've looked hard for them, but the industry as a whole has kind of moved away from that practice.
Thanks so much for showing how to change the rear wiper. I knew it wasn't difficult, but it felt like I might break it. Worked out great!
Yes, I had to do exactly that for my outback. The outback has this non-standard OEM style wiper mount assembly.
So I removed the old one as he described, and I put the new silicone wiper into the existing wiper track and was able to immediately use it
latex gloves? seriously?
Very helpful. Subaru front wipers are very easy, but these were hard before this video.
