I liked your questions about his past. I like to know where the artist is coming from and that's a good way to get there. If the interview gets awkward sometimes that just means you are doing a good job instead of doing softball stuff. You exposed this man to so many potential new listeners that would otherwise never have heard of him if not for this interview. Plus you doing him a favor by asking those questions ;-) you know how to sell him to a US fan base.
