You made a very good video. You were not too fast or too slow. You did not bored me by increasing the lenth of your video and pouring me with unnessesory information which I don't need to hear. You did not give any of your own information telling viewers what you are doing, where you are and how great or good you are. You just gave us plain video explaining what you wanted us to know. That is great.

Thanks for the tips. I have tried many strategies before but your preparation tips really worked. Consistency of the dough made a big difference. Slightly less water than the proportion that you mentioned will make the rotis even better.

Retaining moisture was another very important tip that you mentioned. The process you explained to retain moisture works great!

I bought this same Picasso Roti Maker tonight and tried. First, the dough never stayed on the corner. When I press, it runs to the end and comes out. I tried immediate press, and the Roti came torn. Thought of eating torn rotis, but it came hard like papad. Quite disappointed, I thought of returning it first thing in the morning.
Your video inspired me. Will try again with the dough proportion and see. If things comes out well, I would retain it.
Thanks for sharing this video. Very helpful.

Damn!! It works now!! I made 3 rotis successfully. I had this Butterfly roti maker since 2 years and it never worked till this guy told that you gotta keep the dough a little more softer than usual. I made the dough the traditional way by adding water in instalments. Adding it at once messed it all up and I had to start from scratch again.

Thanks for this video. I tried your method and the chapati’s came out nice and soft. The key, for me, was learning about the consistency of the dough and the quick press of the roti maker. My dough was not sticky and so it was sliding out the front of the roti maker.

Thanks mate. I arranged for a demo and he taught me how to prepare the dough, which is the key thing. The output came like yours only. I watched him closely and the demo guy taught how to add water and make it soft dough. With his dough I made for 2 days, and it came puffing. Next day I tried, it's coming liquid. I think I need more practice on dough making.
Anyways, I started getting sift rotis but not puffed rotis. Will try harder.
I welcome any other suggestions to make my learning faster.

I like it coz it saves you a lot of time and mess in the kitchen (specially for us beginners) wihile you're trying to flatten the dough by a rolling pin and also I like it since all your Roties are perfectly the same size and shape. I think I'm gonna get me one. I do have a couple of questions though 1- what's the difference between Roti (I'm not Indian, so I'm trying to learn) and Mexican flour Tortilla ? and what do you mean by Roti flour? is it the same as bread or non bleached flour?, another one can we make other breads such as Tortilla on Roti maker? Thanks

@Benjamin Mark use butter when you raise it with heat butter both sides and heat evenly then when its cooked add more butter it will soak it up n keep soft over a period of 6-12 hours dependent of where you leave it. you dont spread the butter with a spreader you use the butter in its warping to wax the roti with its goey buttery goodness.

Your video is edited but really not a lot is missed. In the instructions, it is stated very clearly that once you press the roti with the lever, you have to immediately lift it and open the top.
A criticism on your method of making is that I don't think you need to leave the roti cooking on the first side for as long as you do. All makers' instructions say to turn the roti within 10 seconds to cook other side for about 20 seconds and then flip it again and put the cover down so that it puffs up. If the dough is right, it happens each and every time.
