Unboxing of CucinaPro 15 inch Tortilla and Flatbread Maker | How to Make Roti Using Tortilla Maker

  • Today's video is slightly different than the usual recipe videos at Ami's Cooking. I am going to be unboxing the CucinaPro Tortilla and Flatbread maker which can also produce rotis. I have tried two methods to make my rotis in this video. First, I completely cooked the roti on the tortilla maker. Second, I partially cooked the roti on the tortilla maker and finished cooking it on the gas stove. Find out which method produces the better roti!
Note: This is not a sponsored video. I just saw the cucinapro tortilla maker on Amazon and decided to get it because my old roti maker doesn't work anymore.
    Roti Ingredients:
    1 Cup Wheat Chapati Flour
    3/4 Tablespoon Oil
    Salt to Taste
    1/2 Cup Water
    Roti Directions:
    1. Form the roti dough using 1 cup wheat chapati flour, 1/2 tablespoon oil, salt to taste, and 1/2 cup water. Knead for 3 minutes.
    2. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of water. Cover the dough and let it sit for 20 minutes.
    3. After the 20 minutes have passed, sprinkle 1/4 tablespoon oil on the dough. Make sure the oil coats the dough evenly.
    4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Form smooth flat balls.
    5. Heat tortilla maker. Wait until the red light turns off. The tortilla maker will be hot now.
    6. Put the dough ball near the back of the tortilla maker and press.
    7. Lift the lid of the tortilla maker. Flip the roti. Close the lid of the tortilla maker. Let the roti cook on both sides until golden.
The tortilla maker is fantastic for forming the dough into the right thin circle shape. If you don't like how it cooks on the tortilla maker you can always use the stove. Here are the directions to make the roti on the stove:
    1. Put the dough ball on the tortilla maker and press down.
    2. Open the tortilla maker and let the roti cook on the tortilla maker slightly. The dough needs to be cooked enough so that it doesn't fall apart on open flame.
    3. Move the roti on the stove. Let it bubble completely. This will produce a tasty and perfect phulka roti.

Great video. Only one problem. It is not a 15 in h machine. Unless you have extremely lage hands...... Then this is not a 15 inch...... The 15 inch does not exist..... Your one hand span can nearly cover the entire cooking surface..... Maybe the box, lengthways, is 15 inch. But im pretty sure the actuall cooking surface is only 10inch.

your tortilla looks like cardboard, you plip back and forth too many times. Buy a Chappathi maker, put the dough close, and wait for chappati/roti balloons up with brown dots. Another way of doing this, which has been done for years, without no additional electronics, is to simply roll by hand, which takes a few tries and comes out perfect fry on the griddle, every house has one at home . Good luck to you nice try.
