- At SHOT Show 2024 Range Day, @Hoplopfheil shot the new Sako 90 bolt action rifle. The 90 series rifles have a few improvements over the 85 series, including an adjustable trigger and two types of receiver for modern or classic optic mounting. As usual for Sako the 90 will be available in multiple calibers, multiple action lengths, finishes, and furniture styles.

The thumbnail is shocking. I didn’t think Hop was physically capable of holding a traditional wood stocked bolt action hunting rifle. I thought he’d melt like the witch from Wizard of Oz.
He’s wearing that liquid glove stuff like sunscreen.
Is this not one of those AI deep fakes we keep hearing about? First Taylor Swift, now Hop!
I also don’t care about this rifle and only clicked on the video because of the thumbnail
I bet he said fug :DDDDD
Hop has held a lot of wood in his day.
Good job by the cameraman in keeping rifle out of sight as much as possible.
Hop is 6'9" it's hard to get him and the product framed at times i guess.
Hop: Looks the same on Day 1 (Range Day) as on Day 5.
James on Day 5: "I'm not gonna lie, I feel like hammered shit. What did you expect? It's Vegas."
Conclusion: Hop handles his alcohol better than James does.
PNW guys can hold their liquor
Hop's blood is 90% Hamms all the time
Hop is also significantly younger
@@burtbiggum499 He's James' younger brother. Can't be that much younger.
@@rickh9396 Depending on where he is in his 20s he could still be in that weird zone where hangovers dont happen
Sako website is hard to navigate.
I just wanna know what rifles are available in which calibers and features quick.
If the models info was available in a chart form it would be less frustrating.
Happy Huntin.
Agree. Caliber choice used to be fantastic with Sako. Everything would be available. Everything. Now not so much. I think you have only the 8 or 10 most popular now. 22-250, 243, 6.5CM, 270, 308, 7mmRM, 300winmag, 8x57 i think... maybe i missed one or two. Boring. Esp for the money. Fixed barrel lengths. No twist rate choices... nothing. Idk, the peak is nice but then... meh.
Hop looks weird not shooting a rifle that looks like someone made in tarkov.
Hop is so popular they named an entire company after his cat
Sako 90 Bavarian in 6.5x55 with a 22.4” barrel would be nice.
That is a dream gun 😍
but why? genuinely asking
@@KJ-ho6sb I'm guessing that 22.4 inches is the peak of performance from that caliber
@@NexusReload 6.5x55 was used in the SIG SSG 3000, and I would assume people want something similar, that is similarly accurate.
Also the caliber is just insanely accurate, you can easily get sub 1 MOA groups at 300 meters out of a cheap bolt action. Although it is kinda a precursor to 6.5 Creed since it has been around a long time and they have similar ballistics.
@@NexusReload it's not. The round likes 24-26 to really shine, but it's still a good round out of shorter barrels if you're not trying to get the most out of it or shoot a long ways. 22" is a nice balance, though. the 0.4 IS a bit oddly specific.
Who filmed this? Can’t see the rifle for half of this
it was me, I am sorry
they fired me after reading this comment
@@diet_dr.demoncoredeserving so.
Great camera work
This is Hop's Cat's rifle company right?
Came here for this. 😂
At that price range I would assume there is flexible low rate financing plans available 🤯
Look, I'm a Tikka guy, and Sako is too rich for my blood, but if I'm paying that much for a rifle, I do NOT want to have to have an adapter to use standard threaded hunting cans.
Playlist gang
2400-4000? Jesus Christ. Even C.Arms. came out with a under 1000 carbon bolty with lifetime warranty.
PSA ceo is right, gun prices are very inflated
sure... but this is mostly for the European market where guys buy fewer but nicer guns. Maybe one bolt gun and an over/under shotgun, both for hunting only. Blasers are very common. We're talking 5k up unscoped. R8s, Break open rifles... Where I am i see many many guys with R8s and top of the line swaro scopes - 10k easy. I have one gun for example - a Blaser BBF 95. A sako is realtively affordable in comparison.
@@mysterioanonymous3206 You don't think they'd buy cheaper guns if they had the option?
@@stevem4783 We can get cheap guns here. Many people buy them. The difference is with the ballache of licencing we consider our purchases more carefully. It's sort of like you guys buying a can for example - It can take a long time to come so you want to make sure you get it right first time.
I'll give you an example, I'm from Italy and even if not the same gun, but here the cheapest AR is between 1.3/1.7K euros
@@mysterioanonymous3206what euro market has the highest prices?
Awesome camera work, guys 🥴
SAKO is legit but gone are the days when you need to drop multiple thousands of dollars do get a great rifle.
Good review, thanks.
Hop…got sent because everyone wanted to hear him say…Socko 😻😸😼
I love my Sako- its a dream to shoot (trigger pull and stock fitment) but its older amd non-threaded
These MSRPs are getting out of hand
Inflation lol
It's Sako
Sakos have always been premium, non affordable guns. For a reason...
Yes they're expensive, but it's not like they were cheap at one point lol
Had a Sako long ago a finnbear 300 win mag sure not lite great rifles
I'm gonna pronounce it "SAY-KO" and you can't stop me
Was that entry music Deadmau5?
is there a cameraman?
everything important is out of Frame?
#WTF
Haaaaaaash taaaaaag, say it in a really gaaaaaey way.
Wait, this isn’t about Hop’s cat? I are disappoint.
Hop and BrassFacts have fans because people love Socko and Nova.
"Your wayward pinky is grotesque."
Sako has a premium price tag but their rifles are excellent.
Socko 90!?!?!?
Uni 100
I think I'll stick with Ruger 💰
The prices of these rifles are much higher than the old Sako 85s. Did you guys think it was worth it? Likewise they only offer a single stage trigger. I would want a two stage for $3-4k. At least they threaded the barrels.
It’s not worth it in that price range tbh. Im sure its a great rifle but you will get 90% of the same value from a 1000$ bergara
Great gun, but CZ 600s have similar features and capabilities for 1/4 the price!

What's up with middle aged Asian dudes named Henry. My donut man is named henry
$2400 and you have to add weight with a thread adapter to use a suppressor? Big fail there. For that kind of money, everything has to be right from the git go.
Why would you need a thread adapter? Just get a can in the correct thread
Left Hand!
For that price this thing better spit and suck too
every rifle comes with a lifetime supply of leipajuusto cheese imported from Finland
source is I am the ceo of Sako
I will say having shot Sakos they are fantastic. Expensive yes but they are top grade rifles
I’m sorry. What? They went from controlled round feed to push feed and this is somehow more reliable for feeding!? No!! The Sako 85 action was, IMO, the pinnacle of the controlled round feed actions bringing all of the best elements of controlled round feed and push round feed into an elegant, reliable and smooth action that can feed from the best box magazine on the market. The Sako 90 is cheaper to manufacture. Period. This is a step down in quality and engineering. Thank goodness Fierce still makes a Sako 85 blueprinted action in their Rage model!
Literally how do you justify that msrp in any capacity
@@jacobt1027 I’m sure an Audi r8 is well refined too. Unfortunately the average American cannot afford it.
It's an ultra high grade imported rifle. If you want a cheaper one buy a Tikka, it's their budget line
Hunting has turned from survival to playtime for the wealthy
@@HunterLord458 thats exactly the problem, bro. No, it aint. It aint premium, but they are DEFINITELY charging like it is.
@@longrangevoodoo4480 have you shot any Sakos? They are some of the highest grade hunting rifles out there. The barrel accuracy, trigger, action smoothness and reliability are all some of the best out there.
Torille 🇫🇮
The interrupted pic rail sucks. You just made a 2-piece base. It was stupid on the s20, and it's stupid on this.
Always disappointed to find out that I'm not allowed to know anything about a product unless I already know everything about that company's previous products 😢
Looks like the camera was on a tripod. Y’all are smooth brained as shit. Hop was probably the one that set up the tripod.
At that price not only no but heeeeeelllll no. For the same price range you could build one much nicer. Without thread adapter
$2400 to $4000 for a bolt-action?! Unless those rifles are signed by a Finnish WW2 vet, I ain't buying that! You can get a Savage Axis bolt-action in .308 for only $400 to $500! Christ alive.
So, in most of Europe they not only have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get a gun, as well as fees and import taxes, they often have limits on how many of a given type of gun they can get. If you can only own one to thee guns, you are more willing to drop more money on it, even more for a gun that you can drop another barrel on and swap calibers, increasing the number of bullets you can shoot. All of this is a sieve to keep the poors out of owning weapons. This why the AR is getting popular there, with the easily swappable upper. This is also kind of a Veblen good situation, where higher priced make dumb consumers think it's worth more, but also the sheer import costs pushing american guns in europe stupid high, like over €3K in some countries for basic bitch AR15s that are like $600ish retail here.
@@slimjim2584 Okay, that I can understand, but still: $4K MSRP for what I would consider to be an otherwise premium bolt-action is just bonkers. Now, if it were an anti-material rifle, I could undestand the huge price point.
Can’t see the gun ….
This guy also talks like he works for sales at ferrari....
And its hard to say which one hates us more
Good job homeless cat
Just OOF. Sako makes nice stuff and all but.... No. Hard No.
Video @ 0:18.
Ewww boomer gun 🤢 i never believed id see the day Hop uses a traditional rifle lol.
Look guys for the money and the shit they offer you in this rifle just buy a weatherby mark V infinitely better gun made in America and has more features AND They look better too
