Sociologically, there's a difference between biological sex (male/female) and gender (masculine/feminine). Trans people basically identify and want to be identified according to their gender; they're not claiming to be chromosomally a different sex than what they are. Identifying as Black is really about identifying oneself with respect to social realities and experiences of being Black; i.e. being born with a certain skin tone isn't what _really_ makes you Black, but rather everything you have to deal with because of that. So no, it doesn't make sense to simply identify as Black if that's neither how society sees you not does it accurately represent your experience of America.
Something being a social construct doesn't mean that it's a totally arbitrary thing. The self-identifying Attack Helicopter people need to actually look up precisely what a social construct is.

So I'm only a minute or so in but the guy talking about how white people are "genetically more intelligent that black people, Asians are more intelligent ect." it's ridiculous that people believe intelligence is based on race. Asians tend to be very smart because of how ancient Asian cultures developed a lot earlier than other cultures. (China is the main example) They developed writing and paper and knew that intelligence was very important. In general Asian families hold their children to a higher standard because of their culture. For example I have a friend who's Pakistani Muslim and she's top of our class because her parents taught her how important school is and expect a lot from her. It's not that other cultures don't value education, it's that some go so far back that it's considered a bigger deal/ they just feature education as a staple in the culture. American culture cares about education but it's not as cutthroat as other cultures.
Also I don't understand people who are anti-Semitic and say things about them being bankers and controlling money in a negative way. It's similar to the asian cultures. Jews knew the importance of education a lot earlier than other cultures. It's part of the culture.

The Jewish profession is an interesting one. Apparently, in Europe's middle ages, the Christian Church thought banking and money lending was a dishonorable profession for good Christians, so Jews took up the profession, disproportionately. When they expelled the Jews, it additionally damaged the economy, at least in Spain.
The historic association with money lending and greed is supposed to come from that time period. (It was a side note in my history class, so I don't have some awesome sources here, for you, sorry)

Olivia Greanias Besides education and innovation is coined for sustaining survival in your immediate environment. The African traditional education we were taught was enough to sustain our livelihood in Africa. Rich savanna, forests and farmland called for little tools, herb medicine and simple living. The first explorers had it rough coming to Africa and relied heavily on natives. In our ancestors eyes they probably looked dumb and fragile. They had zero knowledge on:
▪Farming indigenous crops
▪Building shelter
▪Hunting tactics
▪Proper African etiquette
▪Language
▪Political systems
▪Historical knowledge
▪Tribal and kingdom treaties
▪African philosophy
▪Appropriate dressing in the current climate conditions and obscured taste in beauty.
They outright appeared savage. But due to historical circumstances our current environment is heavily influenced by western culture (which in its own right is a melting pot of intellect from different ethnic groups) and as of now, I was born and raised in my motherland, can speak 6 languages, can cook both western and eastern cuisines (chef by profession) and I can challenge the youth my age intellectually despite their ethnicity or geographical location. I do not even consider myself outstanding and that is a fact that people who are emotionally inept gloss over. Thanks to common sense most people can clearly see that anyone who belittles others for the sake of appearing superior lack any individual contribution to whatever they claim to be apart of. Since we cannot recreate equal circumstances, intelligence will remain a social construct subject to context and environmental triggers.
