Betset Yisrael Mimitsrayim - Psalm 114

A seminal feature of the Sephardi liturgical infrastructure, often absent from the Ashkenazi rite, is the inclusion of a chapter from the Book of Psalms that is thematically linked to a particular day.
An example of this is Psalm 114 ‘Betset Yisrael Mimitsrayim’, read prior to the close of Arbit throughout the festival of Pesach, and at Mincha on Chol Hamo’ed.
The melody in the present recording is based on one of the most ancient chants for psalmody, variants of which are known across the Sephardi world.
