The reference to David Blunkett was as the "blind" New Labour Government Home Secretary
"No one expects the flailing Buddist" 27:30 - Daniel, you crack me up!!
Affairs are great - they're simple and no-one gets hurt!
I can't help thinking the Jamie Lee Curtis question would just not come up on a quiz machine.
The ending of this episode is one of my favorites -- "Quite honestly... not, brutally honestly." "Then, yeah, everything's going to be fine." -- perfect haha
That's not a courthouse. It's a registry office. It's the same as any other wedding.
Yes, but it's cheaper & quicker than a church wedding.
you FUCKING, guys... you got me alright
Registry office weddings are very normal here. You can now do one of those in a hotel etc.
In the UK you can have a Registry Office, simple do with admin, or a full Church do. Or else this was a more recent mid way version in a nominated wedding venue ( has to be serious ) with a non religious service and guests. It's a bit more like a happy funeral in a Crematorium.
Almost tragic brilliant how it veers from one extreme to another they put you through every emotion the sad state of anything is better than alone or is it? great episode such a good programme ❤thanks guys appreciate you
These episodes seem more brutally painful watching them now as a middle aged man. When I had youth on my side the tragedy didn't hit quite so close to home!
By law in the UK you have to make a verbal marriage oath in front of witnesses as well as signing the register for it to be a legal wedding
From UK,live in the middle of Finland and between middle of May - middle of July it's daylight 24-7
Sounds very Midsomar..
As for letting a friend know they are with the wrong person, age and wisdom has shown you'll get no thanks. All you can do is, be there for them after it's all gone wrong, and console them with phrases such as, "Told you So" & "serves you right" among other terms to bring solace to their miserable existence,,,
I'm British, live, work in US and Married to someone from the US. My interview was pretty straightforward, they went through a photo book with us and I just basically had to talk about each of our friends. I have heard things like they ask what color toothbrush someone has, who sleeps on what side of the bed, etc.
*colour cmon mate
Mate I was never even asked for an interview -- they just sent my GC in the mail -- kind of crazy after I spent months and months worrying about it lol
Poor Jez he could have kept it a secret and if Toni ever mentioned it to Nancy then Jez could say it's all lies
Peep show gets better as it goes, my favourite episode is the one on the canal boat, not saying anything more 😂
S4 is the peak.
Disagree. Most folks I know consider Series 1-4 to be the peak. With less and less great episodes toward the end. (For me S1-S3 is flawless. S4 starts off with a couple of duds but builds to the best series ending of all of them.)
(Edit: Agree about the episode on the canal boat being one of the best. That's why S4 is the peak!)
11:35 Mark: “Yup…it’s true. That’s because I was watching Super Hans having a widdle…” 🚽 😂
13:40 That last sentence hit harder than it probably should’ve. I can relate to that a lot. Except instead of just 1 or 2 people it’s everyone
In UK marriage this quick when a visa is on the line can't be done.
By law the marriage has to go through an interview process to ensure its "real" and not just visa hunting. Just getting this interview takes months from when you apply.
Then they have to have it publically displayed (old law but still do it) to see if anyone in the community can think of a legal reason to stop the marriage.
As for court/registry office marriages, it can just be small with 2 witnesses and no real ceremony, but they do allow for a small basic ceremony if the people want it. Kind of ranges between very formal and las vegas style.
Karen was so much nicer than Sophie. Always killed me seeing Mark be mean to her.
Wait til you get to season five and six….best comedy ever…..
Love to you guys!
You don't get summer sunsets that late say in London but you sure do in the Scotland
I dunno. I live near Cambridge, and it's often still broad daylight at almost 10pm in the middle of summer. It does happen in Southern England as well.
7:15 - Mark's 85% sure he's straight!
He is 100% right, 65% of the time
the gay friendzone lmao, that was a good one
It can stay fairly light in Scotland up to around 10.30pm in the summer but not the whole UK.
I've lived in many parts of England and Wales and the same is true there.
@@helenwood8482
Same here. It depends on what kind of day it is. Bright, sunny days - the daylight seems to last longer.
@@adventussaxonum448 It's never light at 10:30 pm in S England.
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm
Not bright, but I've witnessed dusk at that time. Also, what about the rest of England? Northumberland, for example?
@@DavidZ4-gg3dmIt definitely happens.
"your videos are crazy, this video is really touching" are these bots or something?
27:20 that sounds like a WWE finisher move xD
I don't think the 'Word Bird' is of particular cultural significance in these Sceptered Isles. I think it was just a generic puzzle book, albeit with an extremely witty rhyming title. So witty that on first watching this ep I think I missed the next minute or so trying to get to grips with its genius.
"Tis Jez Copyright Reasons"👏👏😂😂💜
Guy on the right just fake laughs at everything.
Yeah, coz the UK is so strict on immigration loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.
yes, it is
It actually is strict against legal, legitimate, working people from Canada or the US etc. It's illegal migrants with no prospects who the tories are desperate to allow in without question.
@@CosmicAeonLabour opened the gates and Tories kept it open. Neither can be trusted.
@@CosmicAeon Nah you can't just get away with that sorry. Labour started it with Tony Blair, when he openly admitted to opening the borders to slap the tories in the face with diversity.
@@derianjones1730 This isn't a partisan party thing. Both of them are absolute jokes on this issue. If you're trying to defend either party on immigration you're fooling yourself. The tories are just especially a joke because they're the ones who've had 12 years in power and constantly talk about reducing immigration while doing the total opposite at every opportunity. Giving them a free card by saying "but Labour" as a knee-jerk defence doesn't change that.
The Flailing Buddhist - sounds like a cocktail with a near lethal amount of alcohol 😂
Also great unintended Terry Wogan impression at 27:38 from Dan 😂
Sun goes down in summer, latest 10pm
More like 1130pm and up at230am at least in Derry
