    One significant distinction is that all of the NBA amounts are not the real amount players get in the end. The players only get 50% of what is reported and the other 50% goes for taxes.
    In Europe 99,9% of the amounts reported are what the players ACTUALLY get since all Managers work out all of the details of what the taxes will be and are essentially always negotiating for what the players will get AFTER the taxes are paid.

    good video alot of accurate info but one thing u failed to mention is that taxes are not paid by teams in every league for example france where i currently play you have to pay your own taxes. then also in europe the budget isnt just for player salaries but it covers all of operations. in turkey out side of efes and fenner teams sign guys for alot but its rare that you even get close to what you signed for same goes for greece. and in Germany there are to many guys to count that dont make close to 100k. Isreal low balls everyone so those averages are a bit off as well. Ohh and Aj Slaughter plays in Spain not France

    • @europrobasket
      @europrobasket  Před 3 lety +2

      Appreciate the insight and info, especially from an overseas vet such as yourself. We probably could have said “most” teams as it typically is the case that teams pay the tax in Europe and most countries overseas. Obviously if you are not a resident in said country. All Euroleague budgets have both salary and overall operating budgets. We consciously decided not to mention teams or leagues that have a reputation for not paying players, but it is pretty well known many teams in Europe and overseas miss payments and salaries. You mentioned a few that have an infamous reputation for missed payments. With 5 Americans allowed per team in the German BBL teams many times split the budget but we are just considering more experienced import players for this video and article. Isreal was pretty difficult to get accurate info on just from their overall budgets so any info is appreciated. We were mentioning AJ when he was in France as that is when we had his salary information. Currently he is playing for Gran Canaria in Spain as you stated. Thanks again for watching the video and all the best with your recovery!💪

    • @europrobasket
      @europrobasket  Před 2 lety +1

      If we're talking about continental leagues yes, the Euroleague would be considered the 2nd best league in the world. If we just take into account one country, then for the national leagues it would be the Spanish Liga Endesa or ACB.
