Damn Jake, I remember when I was watching your channel and you had only a few thousand subscribers, I knew you were gonna run off with this platform compared to all the other youtubers trying to start with a prison story platform youtube channel unlike a lot of the other ones. The problem with this generation of rappers from 2013 to now is they’re getting these bright futures by leveraging their life and freedom. Since the whole reason they blow up so fast is by doing drill music. A big part of drill is actually living what you rap. Rapping about real steak situations. Why be on opp territory with a clean fit and a burner? Simple, that’ll end up in a song the next day that goes viral and brings money. They know it’s hard to make it as a rapper. So many rappers on SoundCloud go nowhere. They know that reppin a set and being extreme and doing drill is ironically a safer way to make it big quickly. Not safer for your life, for your career if that makes sense. Also these rappers are typically very young. That age where you feel invincible so they’re thinking they can get away with it. I’m not condoning it. I think it’s all incredibly stupid. My whole point is it’s not as simple as just these rappers are stupid. It’s also a little about the desperation of living in poverty, gang culture itself, and to a big degree, drill fans that hunger for this type of content.
