Snake VS Monkey existed in the original PS2 release of Snake Eater, it was removed for the HD collection though due to it being Ape Escape related
When I heard Ape I immediately thought about Ape Escape 3 where there was a little game where there was a crossover when the Ape tried to rescue Snake
When I first saw a video game in a video game my mind was blown
When I first saw Mario in Ocarina of Time on the N64, I fucking shit my ass

In Zombie Army 4's Ragnarok Part 2 DLC during the first "Survive the Ambush" objective, one of the characters, when giving story exposition about the beginning of the universe, says the line "In primordial space, timeless creatures made waves."
This is referencing the exact same line from Marathon 2 of the famous Marathon series.
I played Metal Gear Snake eater as a really young gamer and the Easter egg I thought it's not only Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter, but the catching ape imo is a reference to Ape Escape
...The whole bit is a reference to the Ape Escape series. :-) I forget if it was part of the MGS3 bit or another game's bonus levels, but I recall they have an ape-themed reskin of Metal Gear Rex.
In "The Talos Principle," there's a "Papers Please" Easter egg behind a hidden wall. However, if you find the stamp tool and use it on said wall, you gain access to a different Easter egg room.
Talos Principle has a lot of really cool Easter Eggs, some of them being references to the Serious Sam series (same developer). One of my favourites though has to be the Portal moon one.
That PT/ silent hill EA was insane, the type of quality easter eggs from my hay days that i miss.

One of my favorite "Other game" references is in paper mario origami king. When you put on the Samus helmet it plays the all too familiar music when the game starts or you continue a game and when mario pulls his arm back and forth it makes the noise that Samus' arm cannon makes while shooting
I like to think Snake, Sam and Gabe are in the same universe. Or at least Sam and Snake since they have both mentioned each other in their own games with Snake in MG3 and Sam I think in Ghost Recon. And god I hope they make a new Splinter Cell

Here’s an Easter Egg of sorts in that Silent Hill reference you spoke of. Spoilers for SH2 if you haven’t played it ever and are waiting for the remake.
You were warned so here goes. When you check the trunk he comments about smelling something foul and wonders what’s in there. A theory since the original sh2 is that Mary is inside James’ trunk and hasn’t actually been dead for years. Instead having died recently and put into his trunk.
That is a likely possibility. It could also be a type of suppressed trauma like imagining blood on recently washed hands, where even if he cleaned his car it still 'smells foul'. Or if gone down the violent/bad route, he could have both killed his wife long ago and recently killed a girl he paid to dress like his dead wife.
I love your videos, easter eggs is one of the most important things in gaming for me.

To let you know, Flowey's name is pronounced like Flower, but you forget the "R" but you pronounce the "E".
Not sure if anyone pointed it out but the first one, the boss dude is voiced by James Urbaniak who if you dont know is the voice of Dr. Venture and a bunch of other characters in The Venture Bros.
Ya know ngl i was kinda shocked that it referenced silent hill with the way the game is set up i thought it would be alone in the dark but also fully having the character go to silent hill is pretty great

It's an entirely reasonable interpretation of how the name would be pronounced, so I accept it.

In Deep Rock Galactic 2 of the craft(able) beers are references to video games. Flintlocke’s delight references Fargo Flintlocke from WoW and Blackreach Blonde is a reference to the dwarven stronghold Blackreach in Skyrim

I have an Easter egg that I just found today. In Dead Space: Ignition when you are in a Trace route hack there is a chance of it saying ,”if you continue, you won’t be getting any cake”.
In Killer Frequency, there is a map on the wall of the city and the street names are references to horror directors and it's main influence, Halloween.
I have been playing Farcry 3 for the past few days and I have noticed a dialogue where the pirates say: "At least this ain't that island with dinosaurs on it" or something like that. It's pretty obvious what they're refering to, so I won't say it.
I just recently played Autonauts, you can unlock there a hat, which is a cardboard box and it's called a Snake's hat.
In Street Fighter 6 World Tour in the basement of the Nayshal tournament arena you can find Dantes sword Rebellion from DMC, Neros arm from DMC5 and a statue of a monster head from Monster Hunter (don't know if this was mentioned in a video or not but it's worth checking out)
In the game, " A Day Out" in an under ground hunting bunker you can find uranium cola which looks an awful lot like Nuka cola
I gotta play lake haven it reminds me of original resident evils and silent hill i love those games so much
My favorite one is at the beginning of Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. In the yard of the castle you are infiltrating, you find a broken cart of hay with a white clad, hooded body on top of it - a glaring reference to Assassins Creed. Geralt comments "Guess they never learn".
Also - the three lost viki... er.. dwarves in Uldaman dungeon in WOW.

In the 2023 version of Layers of Fear, there is a reference to The Shining in the Actor's Route. If you look through a hole in the wall (I can't remember exactly when) you can find the hallway from The Shining with the bike the kid rides through it

If you ever do one referencing movies, a game you previously covered, Forgive Me Father, references Evil Dead when you collect the key on the level where all of the cultists chase you in a thunderstorm (it is an ammo drain if you actually want to 100% the level)
My favorite is from the old Star Trek: Elite Force 2. They have a full Mario-inspired secret level in their second level, but its all Star Trek themed and its wonderful.

In Metal Gear Solid 4, the controller you use, changes Paycho Mantis' reaction. He'll be disappointed if you're using a Sixaxis and excited if you're using a dualshock 4, because of the rumble feature.
In Dead Island 2 there's a street sign on ocean avenue near the hotel that reads W. Craven.
Su*cide Guy (don't want to trigger any word filters) also has a level based off Portal, where you need to use a portal gun in an enclosed room to, uh..."win" the level.

In WoW Dragonflight, at the new BMAH location there are 2 npcs that walk in an they look like Agent 47 and Laracroft, they spawn every 5mins or less, not sure, mentioned this enough times I forgot.

I found a Easter egg although not refrencing another game but rather a show i think it's worth it (because no one has done an easter egg on this game) in a game called screaming chicken one of the skin looks like a Chinese star Chai xu kun you can search "chicken you are so beautiful" meme

in Doom 2016, right as you get to hell and find the switch for the classic level if you look behind the pillar by the switch. These are a skeleton with a skyrim helmet
got an easteregg for you. been playing final fantasy 16 and noticed a bunch of the scarecrows in one of the fields (I think the town's name is eastlock) are all dressed up like vivi, the mage from FF9.
...That's because the Black Mage bodystyle is kind of iconic across the series, starting from the first game.

Playing final fantasy 16 and found a possible Easter Egg, but not sure what it refers to, there is a kind at the Hideaway after some time has passed, that has a name that ends in Amateur Twitcher. He seems to talk with different animals as the story moves on. I have a feeling it’s referring to someone or something. So far it has been, Rat, Chicken, Crow, and now Seagull.

If you do another, sly cooper 2 band of thieves has a Easter egg found in the mission crypt of the wolf priestess, and if you stand on one of the pillars in the room and use the binocucoms and face the coffin, wait a little either rocket or Jojo will appear above it. This is a reference to the first sucker punch game ever, rocket: robot on wheels. Speaking of sly cooper in the dlc for ghost of tsushima you can find a painting depicting sly Bentley and Murray running. Also in infamous second son there’s a playground decorated in sly cooper references.
In MSG3, when you are taken captive, save and quit the game. you'll play a demo for a game that was never finished when you restart the game. cool easter egg, sad story the game didn't get made
Shame it got cut from the HD versions, but you can find some really good looking videos of it being emulated in HD (search for "Guy Savage").

@captain eggcellent Don’t know if you covered this yet but in spiderman miles morales for the ps5 near the beginning of the game where miles opens the breaker he uses his powers instead of opening it normally just a little detail I’d like to share with you
I feel like the World War Z "easter egg" may be stretching it a bit. I mean sure, I could see how the bottlecaps might be a reference, but the bunker door and the dead man... not so much. It's just as likely he tried to get into the bunker to escape the infection, then realizing he was locked out, decided to drink himself to death
That was only part of the snake eater Easter egg the entire mission your catching apes from Ape Escape and later in Ape Escape you can play one of the iconic Metal Gear missions as a Ape who is dressed like Snake and so on
