*Te Velde* (French: **Au Champs**) is a trumpet signal in Belgium that serves as a musical tribute to high authorities, such as the king and other members of the royal family, or foreign heads of state. The signal is also played during patriotic ceremonies, often preceding the Belgian national anthem, the Brabançonne.
The use of the signal dates back to at least 1804 when it was mentioned in an imperial decree by Napoleon (Imperial Decree of 24 Messidor Year XII (July 13, 1804) concerning public ceremonies, precedence, and civil and military honors).
Initially, *Te Velde* was played only on a drum. Later, it became customary to blow the signal on a bugle or cavalry trumpet. A short version is blown to announce the arrival of the king or members of the royal family, often followed by a shortened version of the Brabançonne, and upon the departure of the king or a royal procession. The full version of *Te Velde* is played during a Flag Salute, at funerals with military honors, and during a wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
