- You probably asked "but can it run (insert game)?" about GPUs. But have you asked if it can run CZcams?
It turns out a lot of not so old GPUs CANNOT run CZcams. This video highlights the importance of media engines inside GPUs, especially ones that support the VP9 codec used by CZcams.

I wish I had known all of this a couple of years ago. I had several older pc's that wouldn't play youtube well. I did manage to fix it with the h264ify extension after way too much trial and error.

Oh wow! That explains so much. I used to have a 1050 ti and it used to run 4k videos smoothly but then I had to downgrade to a 750 ti cause it died & now my pc slows down a bit when opening simple tasks

You can use 3rd party software that uses other codecs to watch yt.
This is exactly what I look at when building cheap PCs or reusing old office Dells & HPs. With the GPU market so messed up, I often used cheaper Maxwell or Pascal based Nvidia Quadro GPUs. Cheaper AMD R5 R7 cards are easy to come by but don’t offer any VP9 decoding. So can hear the CPU fans ramp up when watching 1080p60 videos.
