  • Is it Normal in Grief to Forget Your Loved One Died?
Despite what society has led you to believe, there is no "normal" way to grieve. There is no "normal" way to feel after a loved one dies. There is no "normal" time frame to be grieving in. Your grief experience is completely unique to you. No one else knows what it is like to be you when a loved one a dying or after a loved one has died. After the death of a loved one, the brain is struggling to rewire itself and adapt to this new reality. Your whole world has just been torn upside down. It is normal for grief to manifest in so many different ways, physically, mentally, and emotionally. It is completely normal and common for a grieving person to forget their loved one has died as the brain is still trying to catch up to this major loss - it hasn't yet adapted to this reality.
