    when you fully reaslise that the most fun with messing around with guitars is with cabs and speakers and not pedals, you will be a hell of a lot happier. Havent been able to put a guitar down since i figured this out. The only pedals i use now are EQ's, and modulation when the tone calls for it.

    I bought one of these and they are amazing. One thing though, as an engineer with decades of experience, I can tell you that we do not run live shows in "stereo" ever. Imagine an event where the mains are 100ft apart. The mains these days are line arrays and are very focused. Ok, so if I am running drums in stereo then I'll have the hat on one set of mains and the ride on the other but that will mean that the people on the ride side never hear the hat and the people on the hat side never hear the ride. Get what I mean? Twin tracker feature is great for studio work, as a mono chorus efx but you'll never use it live in the way described here.

    • @brettlingle

    • @guillaumepille
      @guillaumepille Před 4 lety +4

      Hi, it's pretty standard to every Torpedo product we have: you can get the simulated line/DI out and sound on your speaker at the same time, yes. Just a note: what you get on your guitar speaker is NOT processed, it's the direct, untouched sound from your amp (unless you want some attenuation, but there is not processing apart from said attenuation).

    Pretty cool solution. I picked up an old Altec 1569a amp and put it on the back end of my Kemper but want to remain able to just go straight to interface or board ect. I just got it for the reactive element to put the load on the amp but the additional functions are nice

    I just bought a Captor X after using one in a studio recently. It really sounds great. I love that I now have recall-ability of my cab/mic setups. While it's jam packed with features, I would like to suggest just one more to TwoNotes... It'd be amazing if the USB port would allow it to be a 2-channel USB interface. I wonder if this would overall reduce latency when using without a cab - as I imagine the signal is converter to digital somewhere in this box anyway, then perhaps it stays digital all the way into the DAW. Just a thought!

    • @RossDaviesTwoNotes
      @RossDaviesTwoNotes Před rokem +1

      Hi @HubLocationSound - Thanks for the great suggestion - we will feed this back to the team for consideration now. This wouldn't necessarily reduce the latency as it would required a separate circuit / processing to transmit the audio - but, it is a great suggestion nonetheless!

  • @jbbeaudry
    @jbbeaudry Před 4 lety +3

    I am getting one for sure! I already have the Captor and love it, but this one is such an upgrade, and I can get rif od my IR pedal, so overall the X does not seem that expensive.
    Forgive the naïve question: do you plan to include more features from WoS into a later version of the box? Like delays etc.
    So you can carve your sound on the spot and pay live without any PC, and no latency.

    • @TwoNotestv
      @TwoNotestv  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey :) The captor X already has a load of features WoS doesn't have, like the twin tracker, stereo reverbs etc. The WoS doesn't have delays in it, and right now there are no plans to include delay lines in either product... but in the future, maybe.... :)

Ideally I'd like to set it up and connect everything without having to reach behind the interface to disconnect a cable just because I sometimes might want to have the processed (with cab simulation) sound from my computer speakers instead of my cab speaker :) Will this be possible without connecting headphones to the Captor X?

    • @RossDaviesTwoNotes
      @RossDaviesTwoNotes Před 10 měsíci

      Ross from Two notes here, thanks so much for getting in touch. In order to use this with your Quad Cortex you would need to add a power amp to your signal chain as the Captor X / SE is designed to accept a Speaker level signal from an amplifier. The optimal signal chain would be Quad Cortex > Power Amplifier > Captor X. If you wanted to use a Real Amp, you would simply need to go from the Amp's Speaker Output to the Red Nut input of the Captor X and then connect the XLR outputs of the Captor X to your interface! Let us know if you have any questions concerning this!

      @dilanhookoomsing9876 Před rokem +1

      Hello Jimmy - Dilan from Two notes here. Yes, it is normal that you need to engage the IN LEVEL switch with your MESA. A 25W amp outputs a high-level electrical signal, that is high enough to clip the input of the audio processor. The IN LEVEL switch only impacts the level of the signal going into the audio processor and not the level sent to the attenuator/speaker output.

    OK, well I’m a complete idiot. I put a helpdesk ticket in to the two notes guys because my sound guy told me that my sound is extremely thin. I’m only using left DI Out and I’m not getting the twin track or a reverb effects. so my question to you guys is this. If I hook up both the left and right DI to FOH the right signal will be my wet signal to the house but the left will be dry is that correct? Bottom line is I wanna be able to get the full effects of my guitar and twin tracker here and I’m not. I want to see a front of house hook up demo and I have not seen one video illustrating how to do this I’m an old-school rocker hook an SM 57 up to my cab and I was done this is all new to me. Please whoever answers just give me a very simple straightforward answer so that I can get the effects of my twin tracker and reverb to the front of house. Are they going to have to pan the room to blend this I don’t get it

      Torpedo Captor X is designed to work with amps that have an 8ohm speaker output. When connecting a cabinet at the SPEAKER OUTPUT of the Torpedo Captor X, there are 2 cases : if the Volume Level of the Torpedo Captor X is on FULL, the impedance shown to the amp is the cabinet's (4, 8 or 16 ohms depending on your cabinet). If you put the Volume Level selector on LOW position or halfway, it is the Torpedo Captor X's impedance (8 ohms) that is shown to the amp.

      2- Same as option 1 but also provide user selectable attenuation levels other than the default
      3-offer the option to use one of the dials on the front as an eq for the existing
      attenuation
      4-same as above but allow a second dial to fine tune each attenuation levels for position 2 and 3 (ie 2 variable levels of attenuation)
      4- similar to above except one dial for the 3 attenuator positions (position 1: O to -10db, pos 2 -11 to -20db pos 3 -21 to whatever) and another dial a global EQ
