Absolutely nailed it with Shoreline. It’s a great place for a classic big house on a big lot with big trees along some busy roads. The power outages can’t be underestimated because they can last days, especially in the winter if the roads are icy.

You mentioned the 'sketchy' areas of Aurora Ave. Does the city of Shoreline have a significant homeless problem?
Aurora put me off immediately
Lived in Shoreline 2004-2020, and this is a realistic view. Great place to raise a family, east of I-5 is close to good schools and transportation, loved it while we were there. Had the classic four bed/three bath split level, with a decent-sized yard, but when the kids were out of school, got out.

I guess its changed more than I thought, but unless you are more than a mile away from Aurora, no its really not. Unless you want your kids walking up to hookers or getting kidnapped.
Moving to Shoreline in about a week. Very informative, though nothing remotely dealbreaking for me. The PNW is beautiful, and this looks like most of the same, so I'm very much content.
