  • In this video I begin an Abstract Landscape painting inspired woven wall hanging! This is a Weave With Me style video, so I'm talking through my decisions as I make them so you can (hopefully) learn a little about my process. Enjoy!

Does anyone else find it hard to focus on the content because they're too busy wondering how her hair looks so amazing. Literally seen videos with all different lengths and styles and always looks stunning (i do love the content too 😍)

Yes. 😂 I need to find out the name of that paint color on her wall. She has great style.

Oh gosh, that is so kind! I just got a haircut a week ago and I was feeling unsure about it lol, so thank you!!

Im loving this so far and the fact that you are showing us the whole process , both thought and actual, really helps me to grasp the concept. This is going to be stunning when you're done. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort put into this❤

Jenell, I love your freeform weaving projects - this is how I create also!

Mounds of yarn on the table, rows woven then removed, strands across the warp, lots of delays and frustration. My favorite hobby!

Thank you, Jenell, this has been very encouraging. I’m trying to work out a picture of a goldfinch, using embroidery floss on a much smaller loom, but the process is much the same. Lots of unseating here, too 🙂

I’m glad this was encouraging 😊 thanks for watching! Un-weaving is definitely a big part of the process sometimes.

I love this so much! You are so generous with your information. I'm a beginner and just received my first order from your shop, and I have to say that your packaging is impeccable! I felt like I was unwrapping a gift! Your packaging paper is so cute. You are a gem 💎 and I thank you so much!!!

I really enjoy your tutorials and I've learned so much in a short time. This one was a bit frustrating to watch, though. It might have been more informative for viewers to have seen a storyboard of various landscapes you used to guide and inform your project. With the landscape you were trying to create a complete unknown to your audience, it just seemed so random and stream of consciousness.
This is going to be a great project and I will keep watching for certain! I am looking most forward to trying this in the near future.

This video was definitely not intended to be a tutorial, but instead to show my creative process in real time- so yes it's definitely messy and random lol. I didn't end up using references much because i just found it too hard to try to translate painting into weaving. I glanced at them here and there but this definitely looks nothing like any reference I was looking at.

Painters will look at a painting through a piece of red or green acrylic. It lets them see the painting as monochromatic so they can better judge contrast. You can also try taking a photo on your phone and filtering it into a black and white image.

I was debating on a colour by number and weave it instead of colouring it in.

Hi, I am a huge fan. I have a quick question. I live in the United States, and I was wondering if there is an alternative to the 8/8 warp thread. Love the video as always!
