  • Multi colour knotting is a super easy weaving stitch that will give your weaving tons of customized texture! The knotting weaving technique shown in this video uses multiple colour stands of yarn with overhand knots tied into them, and is then woven into the warp using plain weave.

Definitely going to try this. We're in a Nor'easter blizzard right now here in Massachusetts so I'm stuck in the house for 2-3 days!

I'm in PA we were supposed to get it, but ended up with a dusting of snow. We did get the cold temps. Stay safe, warm and enjoy weaving.

Hi Jenell, I hope you're OK xx
Thankyou so much for sharing this idea I agree that you could do a whole Wallhanging with the knots, as you've shown, would look really good to match the colours to the colour sheme of a particular room
    Happy Weaving.
    Take care and stay safe.
    Lots of love Jen xx 💖 💕 😘 ❤

Thanks for showing us the brainstorming process because in all my years of everything craft.. from jewelry, painting and sculpting, and no one shows the process. That feels like when every girl looks to cosmo magazine and wonders whats wrong with her. Just like it does with that and crafts, that can be discouraging to the point of quitting. I started my first craft, many years ago, with a friend of mine. We started quilling. I never heard of Pinterest so i just looked up techniques and made something awesome. She was jealous because she started something she saw on Pinterest...u know the story... it was hard and nothing like it. She never made anything but kids, since. Lol.
So ur basically like the celebrity who took off her makeup. Thanks. Nice tattoos btw. That's another art area Im covering. Lol. I want to conquer them all! Idk why. I want to gather all of the skills.

I totally agree, we need to see the creative process more! That is often the hardest part to figure out!

Thank you. I love how you explain what you are doing. Definitely going to have to get some different kinds of yarn so I can try this. I really like it 😊

I love this! I recently got a frame loom and my first weaving will be a sampler to get used to it. I’ve woven on floor and tapestry looms in the past but I love how accesible and quick set up the frame loom is. And seeing your videos have gotten me excited to weave again! Thank you!

Love this video and idea. Can't wait to try this, but with some fabric strips and my yarn to see what effects I can achieve.

I just did this technique on my macraweave piece...it turned out beautiful! It looks a little different on macrame cord, but that's the beauty of it...each piece looks unique!

Hi. Love this idea. Wondering if you can make your own frizz cotton, just by ripping it?

I think so! I'm not sure how they get it so nice and frayed though, maybe it's washed after? But that could cause a tangled nightmare 😅
