First time playing through SMT4 series.
This game has been recommended to me multiple times.
I've decided to exclude the additional choices from the main story and just keep it full top screen (Beside in Boss fights). Every option I choose are CHAOS answers.
Pre-ordered a 3ds built in capture card a while ago 2016 (February) from Keity, but it takes around 5 months for them to make/ship it (I received it July 8th). Originally I had a 3ds XL just for this game, but the screen on a handheld device was just way too annoying to play on, and I'm not a fan of that but now I can play 3ds games on a monitor/tv with a lot bigger screen and it's a lot better now. - Hry
It's wild that anyone could interpret Law and Chaos as anything but bad endings. Even if the peace in Neutral doesn't last forever, the entire game beats you on the head over and over again that the same is true for Law and Chaos, so not only do you commit genocide for nothing but you leave the world far worse than it was before as Blasted Tokyo and Infernal Tokyo shows.
Not going to lie, Flynn just dies like a gigachad in both the law and neutral endings, he looks just like he's tottaly ready for it, no fear.

I thought of something regarding that first ending:
"Why didn't people stop to question the potential dangers of the device? Couldn't they have at least built a defense mechanism if they did?"
From there, I thought of several possible counters to those questions. Maybe the need for continuous electricity amidst extremely scarce resources outweighed the potential risk; maybe this same scarcity made it next to impossible to *construct* said defense mechanism, even if the potential risks of utilizing a mysterious device _were_ considered...
I mean, the fast travel system is taking a shortcut trough _literal, actual hell_ which is the source of all of this... maybe humanity is just plain stupid and likes to write rules in the blood of those who broke them?
I'm so happy of get the neutral ending in my first try. I can't connect emotionaly wich the other.
Now the Change of challenge quests suck.

@@somedude-vp9ti My advice would be to make Law dialogue choices after doing Walter’s route earlier in the game (or vice-versa if you did Jonathan’s route).

Yes... this is good game, but there is some major flaws. The level design is awful, really bad how every corridor looks the same, the camera is terrible, the UI is bloated as hell, etc.. So confusing smh And the endgame is even worse on a design standpoint, I get the idea of bringing hope to Tokyo by performing quests, it's a neat concept... but there is SO MANY. And paired with the design flaws already mentioned, it gets so confusing and annoying to track them. I followed a guide and I still left behind one photograph quest because the UI was so awful, I could swear I complete it. This game alongside with Shadow of War, it will be hard for me to forget the awful endgame of both. Because of this, SMT4 that could be like a 8 out of 10 game, it drops to a 6, a shame really. A 40+ hours long rpg in a handheld system is just... wrong
I did "wipe everything" and chaos but neutral is by far the most rewarding (and more difficult). And you get to fight both final bosses of the other routes!
I hope neutral route isn’t as hard to get in the next game.

If you pass the -9 and 9 area of morality in the game, you get the standerd ending
I got the white ending and moved onto smt 4 apocalypse. Such amazing games
dont move out in Apocalypse without beating SMT4 Super Bosses in DLC
The credits song is B.A as ever. expect no less from a game 8 years after its predecessor. Stoked for SMT3:Nocturne remaster.
I just finished the game with law ending when I was suuper sure I would get chaos, the game was good but I don't plan on playing it again any time soon but I might pick up Apocalypse (or just wait for nocturne HD and smt V to come out on switch)

The law ending just doesn't feel right to me. Brainwashing people to make them free of egoism in exchange for world peace? To some it may seem like a utopia, but to me it just seems like a boring world. Conflict is both good or bad. It's often what sparks conversation.
My ranking from worst to best is White, Law, Chaos, Neutral. The White ending is awful.

The law ending made me think, in a world where people are peaceful and content but they have no control or free will, there's no innovation. Mikado was an ancient place, relative to Tokyo.
I see a similar dichotomy in our real lives, most Nations have a system of law and people tend to seem content. But the Nations that have more law and control tend to have the least innovation because of lack of freedom. Is a world with innovation and strife better than a world with absolute law and peace? A game hasn't made me think this deeply since Qbert.
@@zg-it You'd be fucking wrong. China is extremely advanced and so is the Eu and the US and both have extensive legal codes that restrict freedom.

Got the White Ending. It's the second time I got the ending were I kill everyone. First was Nocturne with the Neutral Path.
Everybody did the white ending on their first run. They give you a history erasing button, so you obviously go and press it for the heck of it.

how come the kingdom of Mikado still exist after merkabah pressed that blackhole button while in the first ending everything seems to be sucked in by the blackhole?
Something something power of God I guess, I. All seriousness this black hole results from a random dude blowing everything up while merkabah was likely more skilled in its operation
In the White Ending, Flynn destroys the control device after pressing the button, meaning the black hole cannot and will not be contained to just Tokyo. In the Law ending, this is not the case, however.
or it might be possible if the controller has a button to increase and decrease the black hole size 🤔 but based from the shape of masakado shell i don't think they can cleanse all of Tokyo without destroying the upper shell with Mikado on top of it included
How do you get the cutscene with the woman after the neutral ending? I got neutral but it didn't have that part at 26:09
Odd, it should be included in the neutral ending after the masakado scene. Maybe you skipped it? i dont recal that you have to do anything special.

@@BuffMaister 🤷♀️ idk, after the Masakado scene finished it went straight to credits. I played an unofficial patched version of the game which uses the Japanese voice acting, maybe it was bugged somehow.
So heres my thoughts on each ending for the game
1 law:
While people argue that law is the word and is depicted as evil i dont see it entirely that way one of the plot points of the game is that the only reason demons are around is due to the "old wirld" that is the perpetual reactur bringing demons from the expense and our media turning people from outside the dome into demons
So by destroying tokyo you make sure no demon will ever be born again and humanity can truly be at piece
2 chaos:
I think this is by far the worst ending of this game while you do give everyone on tokyo freedoom you also unleash the demons on the world and basically make infernal tokyo on a global scale. In the end lucifer asks you if you will become the new king to stop this chaos and i wonder if the protagonist would try to find a way for humans and demons to co exist like blasted akira wanted to do but in my opinion this is the worst chaos route of all the smt games i played and i usually go for chaos in the endings

I love this ending, its also the one i got on my first playtrough without a guide despite the fame of it being impossible to get without one
First lifting the dome and uniting the people of mikado and tokyo will ensure piece qt least for a while but it wont be long
Not only are you unleashing demons on the outside world but you are also unleashing tokyo itself with has the things that create the demons in the first place
Not only that but the ashura kai and the ring of gaea still exists and will probably go at each other troaths again
And also the angels can freely attack tokyo now that the dome is gone just as demons can freely attack the outside
Honestly what you did is a huge mistake on many levels... But also you gave the people hope
Maybe one day the conflict will truly stop

I think white is a cool ending. Certainly unsatisfying and obviously a "bad" ending, but I think "we can't fix this so let's just stop existing" kind of interesting
