I always get taken aback by how different Dan's eyes look when he's private just talking from when he's singing, as soon as he's in front of that mic, it's almost as if some powerful divine Spirit inhabits him.
Another thing i noticed in the metal version, when he does that vocal fryscream octaveslide, did you notice how he literally sucked in on that inhale to get enough air for that?
And do you know how hard an octaveslide is, going through all the notes without the voice breaking between the registers?
That is true mastery right there, and takes a loooot of training, stretching and relaxation of the vocalchords, because if there is the slightest bit of tension, the voice will break between the registers.
His masterful skills is one of the things i love watching - and his posture.
And you - i love your enthusiasm, humor and spontaneous reactions.
At the moment my absolute favorite Dan song is 'A tale that wasn't right' it is so incredibly beautiful, and is haunting me day and night for some reason these days.
It's a cover of one of Dan's favorite singers, and it showcases Dan's mastery of his high register in clean notes, with a lot of power behind it.
I hope one day you will react to that one.
Have you recently listened to Dan on, Lost in Paradise? It's a beautiful, sad, emotional song ... right up my alley. At 3 :18, Dan kicks it into heartbreak overdrive that leaves me drowning in the 'ol rain bucket again. 😢 Dan's beautiful, emotive singing is what originally drew me to his art, and, it is still what keeps me here after 6 years following him. 😊 I enjoy reading your comments. 😁

Yes...Dan fully understands the emotions, then he becomes them, so that we, too, can fully understand them. I've been trying to decide which one of these I like the best. I WAS saying that I like the quiet one best, but now...I know what I have to do in the future (besides watch THIS REACTION over and over again), is to NEVER, EVER AGAIN, just watch ONE of them. I may watch the metal version first, and then change to the acoustic version, or I might reverse that pattern. Either way, I now MUST have BOTH!

Both versions are on my play list But I lean more toward the metal version. I lover your reactions to Dan's singing and your giggles. Sir Back-a-lot never apologize for doing so, sometimes I miss something and you point it out. Have you ever covered his Ninja Sex Party covers. Especially Danny Don't You Know or Unicorn Wizard (not risqué) or Attitude City (can be a little risqué). BTW he has 2 dogs Zelda and Akira each named after a favorite video game. That was an example of Dan saying, "Oh! You didn't like the metal version, well here's the acoustic version." Of course, you played them in reverse order, but I think that gave you time to contemplate, "How is he going to make THAT metal?"
