It's to my understanding that some people think James is an underwhelming squadmate, and while I still haven't played ME3 to judge for myself (looking to get the legendary edition eventually), the clips I've seen have really endeared me to him. Sure he teases you here and there, but he's definitely excited that you might break his record. The reactions to dropping before one pull-up are priceless too.
Most people got a bad first impression because he looks like a jock and never got past it. James also suffers from being a new character in franchise filled with characters you have been with since game 1.
I always loved James, he reminds me a lot of a buddy I had back in the days, he's great in the Citadel DLC too.
He's in my top 3 in terms of human characters, and one of my main squadmates in ME3, since he's practically a Krogan in a human body. I think it's because he's a new character introduced in the final installment, and that he is a bit standoffish and reckless in the beginning that made him have a mixed reputation.
@@englishgiraffe2124 Same honestly. Miranda, Jack and James are my fave human Normandy crewmates. Kaiden and Ash have been there since ME1 and yet I prefer James over both of them. My guy really doesn't get enough love. He's a typical meathead, sure. But he's a really endearing typical meathead.
honestly, hes not bad, but compared to the other characters, he doesnt nearly measure up. but, the games are full of amazing characters so its saying more about them than james

You know, I think the male Shepard has some exclusive versions of these lines besides those with the “Loco” nickname in them, like I remember one from someone else’s video where Shepard says, “Shove it!” and Vega’s like “…Okay😐”, or something.

I never got this when I did the Citadel DLC. What do you have to do to get this competition?
You have to invite James up to the apartment. After his coversation is done, he will turn to leave but then notice a punching bag in the bedroom. Follow him there and you will be able to do the pull-up challenge.
