Best architectural Revit videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these, Brian! - Seriously, I've watched so many videos on Revit and only this one series of yours has truly helped me make a breakthrough in my mind.
Happy to help! 2019 videos will be coming soon along with a hopefully more well thought out series of tutorials focusing on just exterior detailing and then another series focusing on just interior detailing.
When I go to my Level 2 floor plan view nothing shows. I can't see the walls below or even the walls that go from Level 1 to Level 2 ceiling. Do you know how to fix that?
Go to your level 2 and without anything selected, under properties if you scroll down a little you'll see the option for "Underlay." You can select any other floor plan to show up and act as the base for you to work on top of.
hello Mr Brian , thank you for those amazing videos but my I ask you if you can share your revit library with us on a specified link, beacause as a new user to revit the library of families is the most unsatisfied , thank you
Unfortunately, all of the families that I build are for projects that I'm working on for the company I work for, so the ownership of that library goes to the company and are not really mine to share. Sorry! But, the quality of the revit library certainly helps motivate to build your own!
When I put the entry door in, it only cut through the upper Stucco Wall at this location. I put another door into the living room and it cut both walls. Do you know what could cause this? I even re-drew both walls at the entry location, but still it would only cut one wall type, but not both. Thanks!
Use the join geometry tool to join both walls. Once you join them together they should allow the door to cut both walls. If that doesn't work (I've had a few instances where for whatever reason it simply doesn't want to behave as it should) you can select the lower wall, hit edit profile, then sketch an opening in the wall where the door is. It's not the best, but it gets the job done.
@@brianalbrecht7859 - thank you. I did the Join command and got the door to show in both the upper and lower walls. However, the stone sill remained, going across the door. The edit profile option did not seem to recognize the sill either, so I was not able to cut it that way. I was able to get the door to behave correctly in the wall where the murphy bed is to go, so I copied that whole wall and door into the entry location. I also drew some walls off to the side to experiment with, but still couldn't get rid of the sill. I will continue to play with it. Thanks again for responding.
@@zonsullenberger9049 If you go into the wall where you put the sweep on, there is an option there that says Cut with Openings or something similar. If that is not checked it will leave that there and it will go straight through your door. Check that box and it will behave how you want it to.
why is my doors not showing as much details in the drawing ? mine doesnt show the jamb amd frame, only a simple rectangle for the door itself, i tried changing the scale and set the drawing detail setting to fine.
What type of door are you using? It may depend on how the door is made and what style it is. Some doors just have line work for the plan view and hide the actual door model in the family so regardless of detail level you'll just see the outline of the door and not the individual components that make up the door.
@@brianalbrecht7859 thanks for the reply, it is from the library following the steps in your video, the files look a little different because it is revit version 2019

@@raywvc Ah yeah, from version to version there are going to be minor differences here and there. Glad you were able to figure it out!
