I grew to love my Christmas tree (Prime 4) over the past two years simply because of the many updates Denon has provided. That being said i'll wait till the next clear major update to the prime series instead of plunking down a extra 2100 for a slightly minimal update.
Well since I don't have a controller, this is the one to get . 😊.
I have a prime 4 and I do love stems however not upgrading until I know whether it’s only going to available long term on the + and how good the stems really sound. The current prime 4 is still a beast and does everything and with all the updates over the past 18 months it in no way seems dated (yet). Especially having looked at the + the hardware is essentially the same and the layout too. I agree with you that maybe it’s worth hanging on for the next flagship. If you don’t own a prime 4 at all then absolutely jump all over this. It’s still one of the best things I’ve used since before laptops when we were all on turntables lugging record crates around!
I am having the Prime 4+ delivered today. Going from a Hercules RMX to Denon DJ Prime 4+ is a thousand steps leap! So, I'm excited out of my mind. Thanks for the review! It is definitely worth it to me. :)

Sold my Prime 4 this week, Prime 4+ arriving tomorrow. STEMS. Sold the 2 year old Prime 4 for $1500 so the upgrade was basically $700 from Sweetwater
Bought the prime 4 in 2020. Sold it 6 months later before all the amazing updates. I never liked the look of it. The plus fixed all the stuff I didn’t like about the Xmas tree cheap look. And the updates are insane. So I ordered a plus today. And … it came with an LC6000 for free. 700 bucks for free ? Thanks sweet water
Got prime 4 plus today upgraded from traktor S8.
I'm gonna get the prime 4+ only because I don't have a prime 4. I also really like the aesthetics on this one over the prime 4.
I personaly love the colors but the 4+ ruber buttons are better those hgard plastic buttons they have been using for a while are notorious for breaking after a few years
My Rev 7 kept crashing on me so, I'm shelving that and switching back to denon prime 4 plus.

I really don’t like the way the channel faders are on this. Not nice at all. Yeh the sweep effects right in middle is nice but not at expense of feeling awkward when mixing.
Maybe the next version will be better and have club style layout. Especially for the effects.
This thing is a beast but the layout is just not for me. Maybe at £500 I could adjust but at around £1800 I will pass.
The Prime 4 and 4+ Are like the Technics 1200 and 1200 for our time.
The roll effect has dropped down to only two beats. That’s a huge blow to all roll effect guys. With each update it drops, used to be like 32 beats I think. Secondly, we still can’t cue the effects ! A very basic feature that no one seems to notice, it’s missing. Updates are good, but.. feel like alone with those issues.

What did you mean by cueing effects?
@@_TJD bpm fx cant be pre listened in ear phones. If I want to come in with a track that’s heavily effexed, I can’t pre listen that effect from earphones, can’t cue them, the fx reaches only main out.
@@taneltolsting2900 So does that mean you have to pre plan your tracks using fx from the start of dropping in a new track, rather than selecting something on the fly, but not knowing how it will sound via headphones? That is unusual.
I have the original Prime4 (purchased when it was first released) - not looking to purchase the Prime4+
I don't got a controller this is gonna be my 3rd one . Sold my 1st one and returned my rev 1 . 😊. I think I'm going to enjoy this controller

Truthfully like the old prime 4.
This new unit looks boring.
Hopefully Denon nxt prime 4 will have option of spinning platter's/regular all in 1.
Would like them to bring back rubber pads.
Adjustable spin knobs.
Crossfade headphone cueing, with highs/bass adjust volumes.
Not circular cueing.
Like old school club mixers.
Crossfade headphone cueing is the best.
Different options of unit colors. White, gray, maybe combo colors.
No Gold color!
Gold is soo ghetto looking.

Try and really use all those sources at a show and watch this controller start taking 3 to 4 minutes to load a track. This controller will leave you in a bind if you really work it. It's a great idea but really not for mixing DJ's working it. Think about it, It's trying to be a Laptop, a mixer, a FX controller and many other things all for $2400. Every time I have taken mines out and trying to use all the different sources I'm paying for just to watch this thing get confused. If your playing full songs or smooth BPM mixing with only downloaded songs you'll be ok but as soon as you start downloading she turns into a nightmare and will have you quickly reaching for an aux cord just to play a song

you had me this whole time and i was about to start having buyers remorse but it sounds more like you just don't download your music. this sounds like a you issue. download your fucking songs dude, the damn thing gives you 3 different forms of storage to choose from and 6 different holes to plug your storage into.

@@grahamkelly8662 Hey man I'm sorry maybe it'll work for you. I have the SCLive 4 also but I dare not put in a hard mixing dance party. Once a gain if you're mostly playing downloaded jams you'll be ok but the last thing I want to worry about is can I download something without slowing this controller down to the point where I have to stop my dance floor to restart it. Also if your playing almost full songs you'll get by but that's not my style.
@@masterpdj2623 hi, no need to be sorry. The main reason I was going to buy this, would be to put my digital music on usb stick and mix this way. I do not intend to download or stream music. Maybe in future I may but at first, I’d like to simply put music on usb plug into Denon sc live4 and mix this way.
If I do this, would I have problems that you mentioned? And will my songs instantly be ready to mix, after plugging in the usb? Or would I have to wait some time for them to load or something?

@@grahamkelly8662 No if the music is downloaded on to a USB stick you'll be fine. It's only when I started downloading while DJ'n I notice this issue. I think you'll be fine. I see there's a new update for BT music to our SCLive4. I've skipped 2 updates as my SCLive is working great for me as it is. Good luck to you Graham and keep on jamming my friend.
