I Tried rFactor 2 With LFM And I Am Hooked!!

  • For a long time I have had rFactor 2 but I just never really found a reason to use it. Driving alone eventually gets boring and it seemed almost impossible to find casual races to get involved with unless you are in a league. But now with LFM, this is completely changing and i am VERY excited. PLEASE give RF2 a try with LFM and help bring RF2 the attention it deserves!

    Great vid. I've recently gotten really into ACC with the goal of participating in LFM. I've never tried RF2 but with LFM becoming available for it I definitely will try it once it once I'm comfortable with all of what ACC can offer. Your ACC guides introduced me to the channel and I definitely would love to see some more guides from you for when I get into RF2

      @Zachary Russell What are your credentials to make that kind of general statement about ACC? Many professional racers enjoy ACC for what it is: a sim game. I tried to find your racing results online but can't, though I may not be looking in the right places. I am curious if you could you point out your real life racing experience and comment on the differences you experience between your real-world GT racing experiences and those simulated in the games? Thanks

    I'm in GMT +8 and looking to get into rF2. I tried Raceroom, and the size of the user base was just dismal. Can you hop in any time of the day and get off to racing with grids of at least 10 cars?

    • @unleasheddrivers1281
      @unleasheddrivers1281  Před rokem +2

      Going by the rookie alpines, they race every 2 hours. So they have 12 races in a 24 hour cycle, I just had a look at recent entries and there looked to be 3 sessions out of the 12 in that day that had less than 10 people. One of those sessions had 9 people.
      I'd say the day of the week also affects participation. You might find more people racing in the weekends

      They're going with the Tatuus FT-60. Personally I love that since it's a local open wheel series for me haha and they are quite good to drive too. They do need some decent throttle control though

      I have nearly all of the content in rF2 and the USF2000's are still one of my favorite cars to drive. I was bummed when I heard LFM were looking at the FT-60. I find it a really boring to drive since it seems like it is somewhat underpowered for the amount of downforce it has. The USF2000's you really have to constantly balance on the edge and its a much more lively car. Maybe they can be convinced at some point.

    My main concern is I just built a PC coming from console and spent a lot of money on iRacing an membership, tracks and cars. I’m still learning it too and only in my first season. It would feel like such a waste of money to switch over and I can’t run two sims at once atm.

      @@rover1374 i was in the same position - in the last 3 months i spend 350€ on iRacing 🥲 and i have had few awesome races and it was very cool. But 2 weeks ago I discovered rf2, and this alpine series - it is awesome! In comaprison the FF is on another level, same as the physics, no extra costs after buying the contend. From my perspective if I pay once for the whole contend on rf2 or only 1 year subscription (+ additional tracks every season) on iracing - there is nothing to debate, I choose rf2. The races are so much fun and not that punishment when something goes wrong (like on iRacing - a small touch from behind in the braking zone +4 points + you crashed from that touch in the car in front + 4 points and you know from that point on, that your SR is only falling down... That was often frustrating me on iRacing). And the sad thing is, that you even can not race offline on iRacing without paying the subscription. So i think: ok, it was an expensive expirience, i had a good time on iRacing and nobody can take my contend away even if i deicide go back in few years (its like a kind of investment?) but on the long term i thing rf2 is a better and more flexible value for money. So maybe see you on the track on rf2 :-) BR

    Actually I don't like that now everything in Rf2 is packed under mas2 archives.
    To modify a preexisting mod, I've to extract every file and then go into devmode.
    I always thought that part of fun in Rfactor is customizing cars&tracks, I don't know how much serious was the problem of cheaters to drive in hardening so much modifying a mod.
    I miss itself the concept of mod as an amateurial content made by community of simracers who share it between them for free

    Unless Motorsports Games sells REACTOR 2 to someone else when they go under, which is inevitable and unavoidable at this point, it will go the way of the dodo bird. Why invest in content at this point?
