- With 207,000 miles, its time for new front wheel bearings on Granny’s Mercedes E320. Its an easy fix you can do. Just don’t be like Monkey Wrench Mike and forget something very important!

Great job MIKE! I love the fact that you made a mistake, admitted it, identified it, and corrected it. It proves that you are as human as the rest of us! I’m loving the progression of this car “refreshing”!
i dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Jesse Bentlee Instablaster =)
Gotta love your honesty! Thanks for the video, Mike.
If you're as generous with the KY jelly as you are with grease you're never gonna have any complaints Mike! 😉
I swear that intro gets me everytime lol another great video mike thank you again
hell yeah great info , love that fact that your doing a classic build , this is what sets you apart from the reg copart walkarounds
Thank you for the Big Laugh, and the honesty...
every part in Mercedes is genius ...that s make me loving those cars
Hi Monkey Wrench Mike. I love the feel of bearing grease in the morning. Glad you remembered what you forgot. We have all done it.
I use a 2x4 across the top to drive in the seal. I noticed you forgot the seals. Love the spindle nut that Mercedes uses. I wish that was the standard for everyone.
well at least you finally sealed the deal! I really enjoyed the head explosion graphic!
I was waiting for you to install the wheel seal, then you started wrapping it up, I thought, maybe he forgot it or he edited that part out. The 'total mayhem' face made me laugh, that look when you did your accounting of costs and realized your mistake...hahaha. Thank you!
F'n store! We all go there! Love your vids..so real and your nice personality/humor a great combo. Be well Goober.
Great video superb detail 👌 thank you for sharing your hard work
Love your video always fun to wach
Another nice job, Mike! Definitely a win!
If I had to count the number of times I had to do a disassembly after forgetting something, I'd have to take off both my shoes in order to count that high.
Love the vids! :)
Well Mike, we all experience those Senior Moments.
It appears that Grandma needs at least a pair of front shoes.
Great job, great humor
Bearings yay!!!
mike to pack your barrings put grease in palm of hand turn the barring so the big side is facing the grease then pull it through the grease till it comes out of the little end of the barring then you know all the rollers are coated nice easy to follow vid for those who have not done a job like that 39 years in the trade i have done 1 or 2 lol keep grandma happy
Again, ROFLMAO! Forgot the wheel seal! Love the vids, Mike! Keep em coming!
Great video Mike from the UK
Excellent video up until the wheel seal fiasco! Lol, Its okay Mike I have senior moments too! 😆👍
Your a funny guy Mike!
Thanks Mike that song is stuck in my head now! "You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby!" ..... "I waaant your Looooove!" 😆😆
Okay Mike, Here's my ultimate brain fart. I replaced a head gasket on a 83 BMW 318i, put it all back together only to realize I left a rag in one of the cylinders...mind blown...lesson learned..car fixed, love your cars/videos and I'm about to do the driveshaft on a 00 Mercedes C230. Appreciate Ya!
I really enjoyed this video!!!!
Great video,hello from east Europe👍✌️
I just did this on my 1965 beetle, it's funny how similar it is and how things really haven't changed in years
Great job🙋👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
mike nice magic light you have
HEY!!!!! I love the "F'n" store! How dare you insult them! Another great Monkey Wrench Production. Keep it up Mike!
We've all been there! My worst so far is doing an oil & filter change & forgetting the sump plug....... 😭
I'd recommend replacing all of the wheel lugs with the stubby replacements. After you have to destroy a wheel to get it off the car because one of those long ones broke in half, you'll see what I mean. 😁
I like the way it clamps everything back together after it's tightened up. No way of it coming apart
Been setting time aside and binge watching your videos, your really cool 😎 Mike. Stay safe and well
Awesome
At least Mike did not lose his bearings! He mighta gotten lost on his way back to the store if he had! A fleet update from the secret Monkey Wrench Mike News Studio?
Coming soon!
great video Mike......but next seal you could use a cheap square of 2x4 with your hammer
We all have those "goober" moments. Ours aren't recorded. No worries. If you never made a mistake, I'd think you were trying to hide something. Keep up the good work.
I always used a 2x4 to tap it in.
wondered when you were going to notice the seal. LOL
Thank you so much for this video!!! Do you think a 2011 would be the same? Same parts? TIA
When you reinstall the race instead of hitting an old race little by little you use the old race than a board then hit the board
Granny did to you again how nice of her
Nice work! Do you need to do the RF now too? Probably same age? I've seen expansion joints in bridges move 1' in very cold weather. You're right about metal shrinking. I like your fleet videos a lot. Go Mike!
I love brain farts lololololololol I'm not alone Thanks Mike Lolo👍😁💪🔥💯
Here at Mike’s garage we do it right because we do it twice 😎
Looks like grandma’s Mercedes needs new tires
I know plenty of grandma's that make a "Grumbling Sound" :-)
😜😜😜
First bearings I changed was on a Ford Ranger fun time
Nice!!
After having to pull the hub back out did bearing come out of the race? If that did or were to happen to someone, can it be used again?
What did you put on it to get the dustcap off so easy!?? @ monkey wrench mike
Love your videos....you are extremely funny. I know nothing about cars. Quick question how do you know so much about Mercedes.
I’m dumb enough to love them...
Great video, I love how most of the others I’ve seen has people using magnetic gauges to dial in that preload and you’re just like “I like how that turns “ 😂😂. I wonder about the way you did it as it’s very similar to the preload setting method on my coilivers where you turn by hand to tighten then tighten about an 1/8” more. Did a Mercedes tech recommend this?
The 108! Wanna see the 108! What issues with the motor etc!
Soon Daniel, soon!!
Mike!!!! Bummer bima update please🙏🙏🙏
This weekend!!
I was with you until you covered the bearing in grease as it not packed correctly and will fail again . You need to place a small bit in the palm of your hand and press it firmly into the palm until the grease fill the gaps around and in the roller bearings . The spindle should be coated and both races as well . You can also use a ballpean hammer instead of the MC Hammer you got there 😂
Great video Mike 👍
Eric O. deftly demonstrates this in the first couple of minutes here: czcams.com/video/BXMLDwWbolc/video.html (also he does not forget the seal 😛 )
I told you that front shakes can be both the rotors and the berings... Smiles
Hi Mike i suggested to blew ear in tank line by mouth to open the lock tank
Tried that! And I have HUGE lungs! Lol
I would prefer a national bearings brand for the seals. But I guess duralast is fine.
Hey Mike since you you know some things about mercs can you plz tell me a fix about the seat squeaking in the w203
That could be a number of things depending on front or back. I’d take it to an upholstery shop. Good luck!
@@MonkeyWrenchMike thank you
Mike, as always it is interesting to watch and it is important that yiu are honest :) Do you sell your fixed cars? It would be interesting to estimate profit or loss like Randy from AAR does.
I’m too afraid to see how much I’m losing!
Again good sense of humor :D
You so much remind me of myself.
Is that good or nah??? Lol
Well done! I really am quite curious about what's inside that trunk... ..I hope you don't find Grandma!
Ha!!
Dry Ice and they fall in. Just don't freeze yourself to it. Yup, haha, you got it greased up real good.
What happened to the BMW? Did you give up on it or decide it was going to cost too much to repair it?
Video coming soon!
First time I replaced a bearing, and bearing only.. Did not have a clue about replacing the rest.. I think I used less than 1% of the grease you did....LOL But the car ran and drove anyway.
The seal didn’t come with the wheel bearing?
Nope!
Good afternoon mike
Have you had an opportunity to check out my 71 Skylark GS build?
Not yet, but I will!
Don't beat yourself up to much Mike, we all forget things now and again and I dare anyone to say that they haven't done something similar.
It Happens
My point being he should have done the bearings before the brakes seeing as how he knew he would be taking it apart again. Mate
Don't worry Mike, you're definitely not the first person to forget to put the hub seal in, I know professionals that have done that, and you certainly won't be the last to do it...
Get the trunk open yet?
Nope...😔😔
You caan use a brass punch,
Hi Mike I have a good question for you I see you are the best in Mercedes Benz in your line of work I just have a good question for you I found a 1952 Mercedes Benz 300 for sale with 12401km/or 7706 miles on it the car looks in great shape all most museum like condition the car is located in Spain when I get bored I go rare car hunting I do also find Motorcycles and boats as well the cost of that benz is $61,849 is a car like that worth buying
That’s way out of my league! I wish I knew enough to help you out!
Monkey Wrench Mike that fine I was giving you a heads up if you collected Mercedes Benz I can hunt them down for you the nother one I had found was from 1935 Mercedes-Benz it was also in new condition
No washer between nut and bearing?
The nut how tows the beering has like a washer plate on one side
Bearing should it be.Beerring cheers🍺🍺🍺
Some time you have to slow down to go fast.. Great Video Tho..
Where your jack stand and still using the carpenter hammer.
Jack stand was under car!
You lucky is not the 4matic is a pain
SHOULD'VE JUST BOUGHT A COMPLETE HUB ASSEMBLY, IT COST PENNYIES! WHO STILL PACKS BEARINGS ANYMORE??
Rubber gloves and plenty of lube ? Something for the weekend Sir 🤗 perhaps you should SEAL it with a kiss 😁😅. What's all this F-N Mike I was kin shocked, I don't know..... Kin-ell I thought this was a family channel, I can see it all now little Johnny saying to his mummy Can we go to the F-N store today Mummy 😲😲😲 it's Kin gone to pot. As always Mike great work. Gary..... England 🇬🇧
Ha!!
You didn't need that much grease in the hub or on the spindles. Also too much grease in the bearings. It will make that much messier next time
Lots of it came off during disassembly...
@Monkey Wrench Mike Where's the Bummer Bemmer?
Video being shot this weekend!
Didn't you know it needed bearing when you did the brakes? you must like doing things twice
Yes he did .... At about 07:55 in ....
Do keep up mate!
Put the hub in the oven
what ever happened to the car that you stored over at your mom"s??? or did i miss that one?????
Shooting a video with it this weekend!
Mike, another great video! But... You seemed to "ice" the bearings like a cake, not "pack" them. This is not a hate comment, been watching your videos for... more than a year now? Since you first appeared on Randy's channel. Anyways, just so you don't wreck a brand new set of bearings, here is how you pack bearings by hand (the way I have always done it, no packer!), skip into 8:30 in the video, there is an "art" to packing bearings properly and DeBoss knows how it's done:
czcams.com/video/AaO_BF0MSSU/video.html
Cheers
Thanks!
What happened to the broken BMW that originally was Parked by your mom's house?
Shooting a video with it this weekend!
Hey monkey dementia mic do you talk to yourself all day like you narrate the videos I imagine you do.? Pack it now Until it bottoms out LOL
typical autozone b.s.
Great video superb detail 👌 thank you for sharing your hard work
