  • Melissa Murray, an expert on constitutional and family law and a professor at New York University, discusses the legal evolution of marriage in the United States. She explains how marriage was sometimes used by judges as a punishment, and why it has been difficult for advocates to make a change to the minimum age at federal level.

We need marriage and divorce law reform. They are not fair towards men.

The United States has a “pass the bill “ policy on “dependents”. You can have biological proof that some chick’s kid is not yours and still be financially responsible. So rather the government support a woman after divorce, you will.

Marrying young creates poverty. I had a teacher tell our class in 8th grade don't just graduate high school and get married. She imparted that you should learn how to do something before you get married.

It's illegal to force marriage on anyone in America on the federal level. Yet many still do it.

Did this video mention anything about in times of slavery how two full indigenous ppl were banned from marrying the same. Laws of marriage has changed periodically...irony is there aren't many blks marrying or staying together 😂

There are weird men and women in this country forcing intimate connections that lead to marriage on women by violating their cellphone privacy. These remote operations start at the cellphone company that manufactures the cellphone. It is technological harassment which is illegal. Men in this country know about this....and it's through force! Probably why the laws are hard to change. This is big business in this country and it dehumanizes the process of marriage.
