      I would definitely hold them KEYS a little more near and dear.. it’s not like after 10yrs or even 20yrs of trucking you are automatically granted a set of keys to EVERY different piece of machinery, and there’s a reason for that it’s not about what you know it’s WHO you know.. and to just start making copies of something that was PASSED down to him is flippin CRAZY specially when someone else is making the proposal.. if you went back and ask his father-in-law how he feels about something like that he’s liable to take them keys back lol

      you can say the same about anything though. they have an entire support structure of various jobs you don't have to do. when you are your own boss you make all the profits but you have to take on the duties of those jobs also and if you can't do them efficiently enough in some situations it is more profitable to work at a company. it really depends. its sink or swim some people will do very well on their own some wont.

    Every NBA player started out playing streetball for *free.* And none of them were NBA ready at birth. It took decades of no income, handwork, dedication and repetition to become what they have in the big league. He nailed it right on the head comparing trucking to sports. Everyone starts out as a rookie and the little things like shifting will feel like you're going 100mph all the time. Only hours on the road will make you a great driver and a will to learn from others to become a great business man or own/operator. If you stick with it barring a major screw job by government regulations 90% of the time there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
    Don't chase the fast money because you will be destined for failure, truckers don't last long with the fast money mindset. They either quit because of too high expectations or they are forced out by their poor business decisions fueled by unrealistic ambitions. You can only play with the hand that your are dealt.

      Bro i made my company 34k last month by myself no teams doing step/flatbed work. They have no customers and use only dat load board. That can be anybody. At that rate even with 10k in bills your still netting more than a company driver. Trust me I know. Cause I will make about 80-85k this year and I take 30% after fsc

      I bet 11 12 a week starting as an oil truck driver my company kept me on the learn hvac it’s definitely worth it bro I in the long run you probably don’t wanna work long hours as well as me get in get your own truck sky is the limit

    • @campshortclip
      @campshortclip Před rokem

      Alot of truckers are bad at math. Sure you can make money. But they don't tell you about the real hours to make that money. They don't tell you about how expensive it is to use truckstops.
      Now being paid per mile sounds awesome. But if you are stuck in traffic. Or waiting at a dock. It's not so good. And the industry does not pay actual miles. They are paying an abstract version where you get robbed 10 to 18 percent of those miles.
      Its still not bad. But have a plan for progression. You won't like the same old freight companies forever!
