While Tony is no longer quite so aggressively grouchy about life, he continues to struggle to fill the void left behind by his late wife. - Zábava
Gervais should be knighted - I lost my wife 5 years ago so his writing is spot on - for me anyway.
I'm so sorry for your lost
Me too...♥️♥️
mine passed five months ago
@@TJ-kk5zf My sincere condolences - It does get easier - believe me.
@@martinnewall5319 Thank you.
Lost my wife and son, this show saved my life, I'm a 67 year old ,old man,who cry's when I watch this show
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss Dana. You’ll find happiness again in life.
Hang in there Dana.
Thanks for sharing Dana
I can’t imagine what your poor heart has gone through, my love. You must be an incredibly strong soul. Don’t worry, you will see your wife and son again. Energy can never die. And, your love for them still exists….so, they’re never really gone. 🌹
I'm so sorry to hear this. Hugs from Ireland ☘️ x
Nothing will ever come close to this. It is perfection from start to finish.
Never did I expect a show that would make me cry and laugh in one scene. Especially from Ricky. He is a genius. This show truly lifted and broke my heart at the same time. And I am forever grateful for that 😌
The American version is scrubs lol
same❤
Reading these comments, I wonder if Ricky understands how he’s helped people with his spot on writing of this show.
True
Ricky is genuine, loving and beautiful. He is one of a kind.
I lost my sweet wife, Pam, 3 years ago. We were best friends since high school, married at 21, raised 2 kids, and lived from coast to coast. Like Tony, aka Ricky Gervais, I'm still working and not close to retirement. Certainly not what I had planned at this stage in life. This show was spot on in depicting the life of a widower. I've watched the series twice now and also watched the show clips. Yes, they make me cry, but in a strange way, I find healing powers in the tears. Just as he said in the series... I can't wait until it's my time to go. However, I do believe in heaven, and even if we don't know each other there, I welcome the days of joy and no more sadness.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I loved watching After Life Ricky Gervais is just incredible and I wanted to give Tony a massive hug bless him. All 3 series have been so beautiful and heartbreaking
Try derek. It's very similar he plays a.simpleton in a nursing home cried many times.
@@darkoverllord and the outtakes 🤣🤣
Gervais’s best work so far. This show is a symphony, an emotional rollercoaster. And the casting was perfect!
Gervais is a genius.....end off. Absolutely brilliant.
Ricky’s best work so far. Transcends from brilliant to perfection.
You are joking!?
I lost my wife 5 years ago,I really needed this show,it made me laugh,and cry a lot,but I believe I needed it,Thank You
Ricky may be a comedian, whos humour can be biting sometimes.
But he can tug those heart strings in his writing and acting, with the best of them.
What a wonderful and brilliant series. This entire episode broke my heart and then put it back together again. I hope the writers and the cast understand what it means to all of us. Thank you, Ricky Gervais!
I think Ricky Gervais wrote this himself, brilliant 👍
Lost my Moira just over 2years ago now and watching this series was amazing. It put into words what I was feeling after 50 years together. I will never get another lady in my life like her she was amazing in every way and didn’t deserve what she went thro in the end. Miss you my love. Xxx
This show is amazing. I loved how Tony loved his wife so much even after losing her. To love someone so much that living without them cause they've passed hurts so much that you question is life worth living has to be true love. I love how the people around Tony feel sympathetic towards him and try their best to help or just simply talk to him and treat him like a human being.
I knew Ricky Gervais could make me laugh a lot but he's been teaching me he can also make me cry deeply.
Probably one of the best series on netflix genius
Ohh, the old lady who got robbed broke my heart :(
Watched the whole 3 seasons made me laugh and cry loved it
Me too.
Watch 3rd season last half many of time. It's sad how it is end with sad note
how many epersodes?
@@captainpinky8307 there are 3 seasons with about 5 or6 episode's evey season
Such a fabulous show. The ending was spot on. Beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
Don't think I've ever watched anything that makes you laugh til you hurt one minute and cry like a baby the next. It's perfection
Words cannot express how much I love this show. It literally changed my life. This is hands down Ricky’s best work. I laughed, I cried but most importantly I was able to see life in a different way. This show was truly life changing for me and so many other people. Thank you so much for the gift of After Life Ricky.
HAD NO IDEA about this show until I ran across these little "SNIPETS." Ricky is an INCREDIBLE ACTOR!!!! HEARTBREAKING PERFORMANCES!!!!
I love the way the videos from Lisa talk about what a good decent kind funny person Tony is (was when she was with him) and you compare that to the cynical angry person he became after she died. Tony himself sees the contrast. The way he watches those videos is like a starving man looking at a feast but not being able to reach it. It's the most brilliant piece of writing I think I've ever witnessed. 💔
Best written show EVER. I rarely laugh out loud at tv shows and I NEVER cry. This show makes me do both with ease 😢😂
If you haven't watched it you must. It takes you through so many emotions,up and down, laugh cry ,sad happy. Just a fantastic series.
I want this show to come out on DVD, I can't afford Netflix and want to see it so bad. I can't afford to buy the DVD set, if it ever comes out, but I hope my local library will carry this DVD set, if it's ever released, then I can see it. I know I will go thru boxes of tissues if I ever get to see this show. These previews make me cry and I need to cry.😥
My husband died 10 months ago and, as others have said, this show is so honest, so true. My mom died this week and Im beyond being able to look at life with any sort of warmth or hope. Right now Im finding it hard to care about anything. I’ve never been a nihilist, but my losses have led me to understand it intimately. I think the only thing tethering me here is my grief. I dislike everyone and everything; I just want to stay home alone with my grief and memories and let the world burn down.
I am speculating that you might be disappointing both your Husband and Mum, their love for you shouldnt be lost and locked away with sadness. Go out, pass that love forwards and give others memories they will want to keep safe.
I really hope that you are feeling a little less lost. I lost my Sister she Dad last year and will probably lose my Mum this year. There is no one that can fill the gaps. The sense of loneliness is so heavy. I hope spring will bring you some comfort
I'm very sorry about your husband, trust me I completely understand how you feel, I felt the same way when my wife past away June 4th 2018 grief is hard to deal with but we learn to live with it, where are you from ?
He is so smart and funny and i love how the paper interviews the little people not the glamouress. RICKY IS A GENIOUS
I love how every character mattered in After Life, every single one of them, imperfections and all.
3mo ago my life stopped . My wife had cancer then covid , she died 2/26/22. 35 years, now the pain of losing her is to much to bear. I feel lost.
I am sorry for your loss mate, make the best out what you got left of family
the world thinks of him as incredibly mean but shows like after life only prove that he is an incredibly empathetic man.
Ricky has a Kind Heart.
I lost my son a month ago.. He was the child I’d have chosen to be friends with. I’ll never be the same again. E.V.E.R. But maybe one day I might be better.
Stay strong. Time heals.
Just read this. I'm sorry you lost your son and your best friend. I hope that you are learning to cope and live in a world that is different. Time doesn't heal. It just gives us a chance to find a way to live differently and to find hope.
@@chrisd6836 yeah, that seems so far away.. thank you for being kind and choosing your words wisely. People like you are far and in between. I’ll think about that for a long time.
For years now i´m dealing with depressions and i never watched any tv series ore movie with such an accurate portrayal of this mental disorder. You can laugh, you can crack Jokes, you can enjoy company, you can work, you can show empathie. But as soon as your door shut behind you, you can break down and cry hysterical.
I watched this show prior to losing both my parents (22 March 2022 and 18 March 2023). Ricky Gervais and his wonderfully touching / hilarious show kept (and keeps) me from just following Mom and Dad to the other side.
This series is so relatable, i lost my dad not long after it came it and ricky saved my life
the very last episode just brings the hardest & coldest hearts to tears.........
The thing that sets this aside is how it’s written, acted and all about realities of real life that so many can relate too ,Ricky is a very special different artist.
Honestly, I cried with every episode. Even though I have different battles that make me sad, it almost became too much to watch these. A emotional masterpiece on the event horizon.
What a Guy Ricky Gervais is,great actor..and just an everyday normal guy..Top Man 👍🏻
I love this show. RG makes material that means something. I love that German Shepard and this cast. This show is so under rated, I never heard of it until I stumbled onto it the other day
So heartbreakingly, tearfully, beautiful. Ricky, you lived Tony, you WERE Tony. I also had 'happy' tears watching this!!!
Junes speech to Tony is just lovely
I consider myself a pretty tough person who never shows much emotion. Afterlife with Ricky Gervais had me tearing up many times throughout series 1-3. The final episode as he is walking through the fair with Brandy is an absolute emotional masterpiece. The way he looks for the picture and salutes was a memorable piece of acting. The look on his face said it all. WOW. Kudos to Mr Gervais. He is so underrated as an actor. [Salute]. Please watch afterlife. ❤
I can’t believe there’s no Rattie and The Nonce scenes in this video.
Arguably the most wholesome characters in the entire show
pointless characters
I lost my wife in 2013 and I’m still so angry 😡 she never drunk alcohol or smoked (all the bad things I do) life can be so unfair and it’s a mixed bag of a rollercoaster of emotions and i work in the funeral industry so get to see all the ‘injustices’ of you like first hand and it does make me wonder why life can be not only cruel but so very unfair (tearful now)
Sometimes there are no words, life is unfair and you have seen that, you have every right to feel anger, feel it, cry, punch a wall, dont hurt yourself, but hang in there and life can bring you hope, maybe when you feel your lowest. Your wife would want you happy, and finding that will make her happy. Her soul is alive and when its time you'll join her, but not till you've lived your life. Wish you peace and hope you get to where you need to be. 🙌👍
I lost my three young daugthers Ricky IS so right ! Peuple should not be afraid to die but to live a life without love ❤️ that's scary... Love and humour are our best weapons to face adversity.
I watched this series and I can’t believe how it portrayed real life I cried so much. We have all lost someone or a pet so we all know the pain. Thank you Ricki
The first thing that I ever watched on Netflix.....................and still my favourite! Bravo Ricky!
There are no words that fully describe how wonderful this is. Thank you, Ricky, for all that you do. You have helped countless people with your talent. ❤❤❤
I laughed and I cried. Well done Ricky. So real. Excellent work. Love his work on the Golden Globes. He's hoot. As true as it is in Hollywood. Kudos to him.
This entire series captures, kindness, empathy and compassion at many moments to a tee. The awareness and insight of grief and its complexity demonstrated in depth so well. Highlights the profound impact of the generosity of one's heart.Thank you!
This has to be one of the most funniest and heartbreaking series i've ever watched ❤️
He must understand all these imotions to be able to play these roles so well. A good heart under all those jokes
I saw this on netflix and was so happy I did!! when ever I want to feel good I watch it again, that and Derek was excellent too
Try extras that's really good as well
@@juanpablo1825 i will, thanks
I lost my husband almost 10 years ago and this show is absolutely brilliant!!! Ricky Gervais is spot on!!! Just LOVE it ❤

The genius that is Ricky Gervais.
I have recommended this show to everyone! It is a work of art!
I know it's not the same as losing a beloved wife. However I lost my mother 10 years ago when I was 23 we used to live in the same town and I'd go visit her for dinner and hang out with her and stuff talk on the phone alot etc. She suddenly passed and it was just unreal that she was just no longer there. watching this series I empathized with all the stuff Tony went through.
An amazing man. Such care and emotion. Love it.
I’ve been wandering aimlessly through grief, without a reference ands I think I’ve just found one. I lost both my parents in one fell swoop just as I was pregnant and becoming a parent for the first time. My daughter’s a year old now and I still haven’t adjusted. Some of the things he says being life to things I didn’t have words for. Grateful for this.
one of the best shows ever made still brings tear to my eyes very well written and played
It’s probably the best series ever eyes opener ever ❤️
What a great heart touching show I laughed cried smiled and thought this hsow makes one feel so many emotions and more like this should be out there for Us the Fans, Hats of to Ricky Gervais an amazing gift - Thank You.
I am suffering from a broken heart... a broken world and I know this show will really rip me apart.
For months I never have found anything on Netflix to watch. I’m so glad that l kept the subscription, as last night on Halloween, I found season 3 of AfterLife. Best thing I have seen in years! 🍁🕯🍁🧡🧡
Incredible series. I cried during every one. Fantastic cast and so beautifully written. Amazing.
The series is short but relevant, all to the point. I love it. Watched it again, and experience more hidden details … in fact I cried more this time round.
Never had so much pleasure in binge watching a show, need to do it again
Best show I've ever watched, nothing comes close
Again this man shows incredible insight and understanding...
Genius! Absolute genius...
I’m going through my own personal vendetta against my life. My body won’t heal itself anymore because of bad decisions that I made long ago. I wake up every day wondering why I’m still alive. This helps me more than anything
Ricky Gervais is the most brilliant man I 'know'. What a multi-talented man. I want more of this sort of series from him.
I lost my Dad in 2020.
I’m sure the date can explain exactly why but it was a complicated case.
I haven’t grieved, I locked everyone out, I’m the youngest child and don’t have a partner or anyone to have helped me through it like my Sisters did. I had to arrange his funeral, sort his bills and more importantly help my Mum.
This show broke me; it opened up so many feelings and emotions and I got help.
Right on time…because I was about to give up on life.
So everyone is right, I hope Ricky does know how much this show has helped people.
The best situation comedy ever written.... Ricky is a genius who makes me cry with appreciation.
Absolutely 100% spot on with thoughts, feelings, emotions, the writers and actors have replicated a moment in Someone’s life with such accuracy they should be proud of themselves, watching all these snippets transport me back and I laugh and cry in equal measures.
Such a great series! Cries from season one till 3!
Yes! Same!
So strange watching this show then watching Derek. A lot of the same cast. I absolutely loved After Life. Beautiful, poignant and hilarious❤ Ricky created something amazing.
Ricky Gervais such a great actor 👏🏻👏🏻
You can find a combination of different emotions in this show.❤❤
One of the reasons I often come back to After Life clips on here is that I know I'll see others in the comments, others like me who've lost their wife, their husband, their soulmate...and it helps me to feel not quite so alone. It's been 18 years now, I've never really recovered, not properly, I'm a pale shadow of who I used to be. I'm OK for the most part, not good or bad, but OK, I can co-exist with her absence but how I miss her! She'd never have believed that I'd still miss her like I do. I dream of her constantly, so vividly, and sometimes the dreams really sting. I don't want them to stop though, that's the her that I still get to spend time with. I'm still "only" 54, there may be long way to go yet, I don't know. As to the show After Life, it's not easy to watch but there is a catharsis in it, how Ricky Gervais manages to capture the reality of this life so accurately is truly astounding! To all of you out there, all you others like me, my love and best wishes to you all.
I lost my soulmate , my husband , 5 months ago…. The longing, the void… it will never end…… how do you continue???
What a wonderful show. Gervais, you did great
Could watch this over and over again brilliant
This show is pure gold!
62-year old man and just cried my eyes out.
I love his accent. Makes everything he says sound eloquent.
This is the only great show on Netflix. Lost my husband 11 yrs. ago. Still hurts.
Try his show, Derek. It's wonderful.
One of the best series I've ever watched!
one of the best series on the planet
I consider myself agnostic but
The atheist POV is painfully relatable. The need for reassurance 💔😢
Last episode was epic and very moving
