Sorry about all these wining finns, feeling quite embarassed when reading these childish comments from people who can`t take a joke. During that same wisit to Finland Ramsay went to quite many finish restaurants and had been extremely happy with the foods that he had been served. Chillatkaa Suomalaiset, noi piirakathan oli aivan hirveitä :)

Musicians don't go into other cultures and insult their music. This is true for many forms of art, but I wonder why dining is excempt from this unwritten rule.
My fellow Finns should remember that "traditional Finnish food" basically means "borderline edible stuff that does not rot too badly during our nine-month long winter". If something from those ingredients tastes good, it is probably a later iteration.
JoIsHere 13 I gave some salmiakki to a couple of my friends and they thought it was really bad... it was very amusing! I didn't realize that most people dislike salmiakki. haha

Gordon should watch his manners...he isn't just criticizing a meal that wasn't cooked to his liking ...In fact insulting traditional food in a different culture...VERRRRY RUDE INDEED!!! JUST BLOOOOODY RRRUDDDDE!!!
I'm just wondering about the bread cheese and cloudberry. Was it REALLY that bad he just had to spit it out? Bread cheese has a pretty mild flavour after all and I don't think it's that hard. It's not as chewy as halloumi cheese, for example, but I doubt he would have said anything bad about halloumi. Also cloudberry jam has a pretty neutral flavour but I think it's delicious and you'd think a gourmet chef would appreciate that kind of a rare nordic treat. I don't think anyone would dislike that combination SO badly they would actually think it's "disgusting" and not able to eat it. I'd say either he just had to pull through his edgy Gordon Ramsay role and just mock everything rather than expressing his real opinions or he's just extremely picky. I don't know but nevertheless I think it's a little bit sad.
I was disappointed how this host bought market stuff and not the real things. And why mämmi? why? why? why it is so "fun" let foreigners taste shit looking rye pudding, when even most of finns doesn't like it? "Hehehee, let's them taste shit!". Gordon have tasted over the years really good stuff from Finland and liked. My brain hurts when finns are marketing the worst traditional dishes, no wonder everyone thinks we eat crap here.
This still brings a smile to my face. Ramsay grinding his teeth out angry at unprepared food is hilarious! FYI, none of these meals were properly prepared for this. That cheese for one is supposed to be fresh and warm, soft and stringy like mozzarella. We never eat it cold and tough, except maybe in East Finland where it's not at all part of their tradition so they don't know what the heck to do with it :D
Mämmi on ihan hyvää.
Go spit "some" and yel its so black it got a safe space on youtube. I actualy mean some other traditional food. I could slap the dude for karjalanpiirakka. If it aint serwed well not his foult.
Mämmi is good. Its a sweet rye pudding. It tastes alot like kvass. It does look like chocolate and then people eat it with the wrong expectations. It has a nice toasted caramel and rye flavour.
Wow i actually lost respect for gordon, one of my favorite chefs and doesnt like any traditional finnish dishes, finnish food is the bomb, some of the best food ever. He should go back to eating risotto and bite size pieces of steak.
I’m Finnish myself and even I thought the food looked disgusting, clearly it is pre-packaged food on here. Finnish food is great when it is done properly and done homemade.
16 years later in his Uncharted episode, he visits Finland and actually comes to love the Finnish food. I've also been to Finland and love the freshly made traditional food. I think she just gave him literal shit.
Seems like Ramsay tried to act entertaining here, but still I think this is not professional nor sophisticated way to behave. He knows it wasn't all terrible and he should've shown some respect.
What a lot of people don't know is that traditional finnish food is actually fucking disgusting, I've been living here for 22 years and I'm still not used to this crap... other than Mämmi which is pretty fucking delicious if you use enough sugar and vanilla sauce
Did he say that the cheese was hard? Because that brand is NOT supposed to be. At its best it's very, very soft, easily chopped to pieces by hands (if you wish to do so for some reason). There was something SERIOUSLY wrong with that taster. (And I doubt it's supposed to be storaged like THAT. I sincerely hope that it wasn't in that container for long...!) As for mämmi... Poor thing, starting out his experiments with Finnish foods with THAT...! (I, personally, love it with vanilla-cream, but I can see why it's not for everyone.) I'd comment on spitting out the food in front of the one providing it, but this is Gordon Ramsay so I actually expected worse...
Just because he doesn't like something it doesn't mean that he has to be disrespectful. It's a different culture, so it might be different from what he's used to. However he does not have to compare food to poop, or glue. That lady is introducing food from her country out of the goodness of her heart. He's so rude
I don't know why pointing out a funny irony makes me an idiot. You seem to be the one generalizing a whole region, the 14 or so nations of northern Europe, just to insult someone.
Gordon ramsay what a big baby someone gives you food and you bash it with out even tasting it
Just Gordon Ramsay being Gordon Ramsay. Don't take personally.
*takes personally*
People hate honesty, apparently
i m not finnish however i feel offended by this Man attitude! he might be a known chief, condescension might be his commercial signature, it is still disrespectfull .. "do you eat this?" hé keeps saying and it's so annoying. he's abviously reluctant to give à Real try .
Well done. One of the best cooks in the world comes to Finland and they buy him some shitty store bought pastry and old cheese and some shitty frozen mämmi.
Yeah, thats what I was wondering as well. Just how stupid must one be to think that a chef like him would enjoy food that is straight out of a plastic fucking pag...
XD ei vittu :DD

I'm Chinese and I really enjoyed Mämmi when the landlady introduced it to me. At one point my Indian flatmate and I eat it every afternoon. He takes pride in Indian food but loves Mämmi too.
You may dislike the food but spitting it is just bad behaviour. Top chef... my ass.
Ari Kiiskinen butthurt much?
let him eat Surströmming
lmao
let him eat cake
I'm just here to say that I've been learning finnish for some time now and I can understand most of the subtitles. I know theyre not saying anything complicated but this is a win for me lol.
Uh... He kinda isn't funny here, just insulting.

Im 11 and those two i don't like but i will like them i wanted or not i say.🤣
"Do you feed this to horses and donkeys?" No but we just fed it to a giant ass.
Seka ulkonaoltaan etta ulosanniltaan.
Gordon Ramsay is like a big cry baby damnit.
Köyhän miehen Jyrki Sukula.
nah, I would say he is adult baby
yes. but finland foor is like babyfood. no taste. no look or . real S**T. bon apetit :D
Pre packaged food. Those things are actually quite good when home-made.
I feel like I'm the only foreigner that likes Mämmi . I used to eat it all the time in Kindergarten, we even traded toys so we could eat another kids portions.
There's another video where he's in Lapland and eats reindeer and loves it gg man
Musicians don't go into other cultures and insult their music. This is true for many forms of art, but I wonder why dining is excempt from this unwritten rule.
420xHustlerxB0SS Best comment ever!
Joo mutta nuo on kyllä eineksiä
My fellow Finns should remember that "traditional Finnish food" basically means "borderline edible stuff that does not rot too badly during our nine-month long winter". If something from those ingredients tastes good, it is probably a later iteration.
As a fellow Finn, that pretty much sums up our food. If you didn't grow up on the stuff, it's quite gross.

I gave some salmiakki to a couple of my friends and they thought it was really bad... it was very amusing!
I didn't realize that most people dislike salmiakki. haha
yes I agree. A lot of foreigners come to the US and hate our Thanksgiving food which is very traditional to us Americans.
erik m I like salmiakki actually
Exactly lol
"very traditional finnish food..." more than half of the population shuns it.
Oh noooo not a FINRAAAND!
Mongorian?
The unholy reptilian ambassador Goddamn monorians arways tear down my shitty walls!
Best episode of South Park ever!
I love Finnish food. Everything I've ever eaten in Finland tasted great.
their reindeer pizza is 🤤
The further north you go in Europe , the crappier the food gets.
That's pretty much a fact.
lol actually, that's not a fact, you clearly don't know what you are talking about.
Hemmo Any chef, foodie will tell you the same thing. Foods from Britain, Iceland, Finland and Scandinavia are crap compared to the Mediterranean. Spain, southern France, Italy, Turkey. You Shmuck you
that's your opinion, it doesn't make every food in northern countries bad...
Baghuul The fact that you implied that Finland and Britain are part of Scandinavia, shows that you don't have a slightest clue about anything. I'll take Finnish food over southern food any day. Nothing beats reindeer and potatoes!!!! Go fuck urself.
JakeNukem3D What the hell are you talking about?
Even if you dislike that food (tbh it was storebought so what can you expect) you don't need to be so rude and disrespectful about it.
Minkä helvetin takia on pitänyt tarjota einesaltaan tavaraa?
Coming from an English guy too funny
No No No No NO!!! this is a big misunderstanding!! we dont eat those foods here !! or some does.. but the only people who eats those foods here are old people NOT young people! we young finnish people dont eat that shit! only old people eat that just let u know!
+jaako olarinen You know, I'm 17 and I eat those things. Young people can enjoy them as well.

First of allll....Finnish food is DELICIOUS. That's all I have to say.
lmao based gordon, how can fingolians ever recover?
I don't know how fingolians recover but we finnish knew Gordon was just joking.
Imagine still believing a nazi doctors speculation about Finnish ethnicity.
ALAS, it tastes disgusting even for Englishman's tongue. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!
That would be amusing, if the world's top chefs weren't British -- Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White, Jamie Oliver, etc.
to be honest look up Noma. that chef in charge there is one if not the best chef currently not these tv cooks they are great for telly but in real life it is those who win the bocuse d or or the Michelin 5 star chefs. Ramsay is abrasive for tv
You're not making a great case for Britain having the top chefs if Jamie Oliver is one of the 3 chefs you list.
like WTF he thinks he is.. A god??
criticizing supermarket food = you think you a god. cool story
Starakz finally somebody who gets it... having cheapass supermarket food and also one of the worst kind brought up to world known chef and expecting him to like it is absolute fucking joke
Gordon should watch his manners...he isn't just criticizing a meal that wasn't cooked to his liking ...In fact insulting traditional food in a different culture...VERRRRY RUDE INDEED!!!
JUST BLOOOOODY RRRUDDDDE!!!
This was hilarious!
Oh you mean in Finnish Rude
gordonille maistuu vaan sen omat safkat :D

He just said "Not for me". Doesn't mean it's disgusting, he just personally doesn't like the taste.
Wel, I should have known that tradional finnish food is not enough fancy for Gordon Ramsay (No offence to Gordon or Finns)
And those were not home made, i've seen that leipäjuusto bottle like thousand time while in a store
Im from finland i love finnish food💙
My country has been mocked
I was disappointed how this host bought market stuff and not the real things. And why mämmi? why? why? why it is so "fun" let foreigners taste shit looking rye pudding, when even most of finns doesn't like it? "Hehehee, let's them taste shit!". Gordon have tasted over the years really good stuff from Finland and liked. My brain hurts when finns are marketing the worst traditional dishes, no wonder everyone thinks we eat crap here.
Lmao it's a tv show they probbaly didn't wanted to waste much money on food that wasn't gonna be eaten anyway
Ei saa dissaa suomalaista ruokaa :D
Ehkä Ramseyn yleisin sana minkä se sanoo : "Disgusting"
This still brings a smile to my face. Ramsay grinding his teeth out angry at unprepared food is hilarious!
FYI, none of these meals were properly prepared for this. That cheese for one is supposed to be fresh and warm, soft and stringy like mozzarella. We never eat it cold and tough, except maybe in East Finland where it's not at all part of their tradition so they don't know what the heck to do with it :D
Mämmi on ihan hyvää.
Vaginaattori I love Mämmi, with grädde and a little socker. Enjoys it every påsk.
Karjalan piirakan pitää olla tuoretta
Leipäjuusto on ihanaa.
Gordon is a great chef, but this quite didn't hit the "comedy" or whatever his trying part.
I am Indian who loves Finnish food.. It's so delicious and healthy 😋💖🌸One should never be so disrespectful towards food 😕
Well if u ask somebody to try it and his opinion then i think its okey
@@sanderkonto297 Opinion can be polite also but not in such a way as degrading ll the food 🙄
people and their ethnic foods, I wonder if Gordon ramsey ever tried rocky mountain oysters?
Go spit "some" and yel its so black it got a safe space on youtube. I actualy mean some other traditional food. I could slap the dude for karjalanpiirakka. If it aint serwed well not his foult.
Finland is a great nation and everybody here know's that Franco Cinéphile is a big french gay that know nothing about Finland!! Hahahah....
Jep
Mämmi is good. Its a sweet rye pudding. It tastes alot like kvass. It does look like chocolate and then people eat it with the wrong expectations. It has a nice toasted caramel and rye flavour.
Wow i actually lost respect for gordon, one of my favorite chefs and doesnt like any traditional finnish dishes, finnish food is the bomb, some of the best food ever. He should go back to eating risotto and bite size pieces of steak.
Felix Raudaskoski Oli? Toi homo ei koskaa oo ollu hyvä tyyppi.
I’m Finnish myself and even I thought the food looked disgusting, clearly it is pre-packaged food on here. Finnish food is great when it is done properly and done homemade.
haista paska gordom ramsay mämmi is life
Well, i knew that finnish food was bad.
16 years later in his Uncharted episode, he visits Finland and actually comes to love the Finnish food. I've also been to Finland and love the freshly made traditional food. I think she just gave him literal shit.
All the Finns:
**TRIGGERED**
being a finnish like
peruna yes
Atleast, he is not str8up hating it. he said ''Not for me''
*angry PERKELE screaming in the distance*
Seems like Ramsay tried to act entertaining here, but still I think this is not professional nor sophisticated way to behave. He knows it wasn't all terrible and he should've shown some respect.
Mämmi, Karjalanpiirakka ja Munavoi on just niitä suomen ruoan parhaita :D
I'm not gonna lie. This looks pretty good. If I was there I would definitely eat the whole things. Especially the last creamy dish.
What a lot of people don't know is that traditional finnish food is actually fucking disgusting, I've been living here for 22 years and I'm still not used to this crap... other than Mämmi which is pretty fucking delicious if you use enough sugar and vanilla sauce
My confidence in Gordon's abilities as a chef just decreased, considerably.
Me at my great granny house as a young child.
Ramsay probably didn't sleep well so he is grumpy because Finnish meals are very good in my thoughts
Someone should tell Finland that the War is over
He speaks the truth, likes it or not, but there are good food in Finland as well.
Just because he doesn't like something it doesn't mean that he has to be disrespectful. It's a different culture, so it might be different from what he's used to. However he does not have to compare food to poop, or glue. That lady is introducing food from her country out of the goodness of her heart. He's so rude
Siinä on kummasti eri ääni kellossa.
