One of very few comedians who can make me roar with laughter. I've been a fan since the first time I saw him on television, several decades ago. He can make me laugh when nothing else can even make me smile.
I had to totally re-learn how to laugh because of Billy Connolly. My old way of laughing was just too painful when he was performing, and I felt as though I was going to do myself some serious damage. Now I laugh from the diaphragm - much safer. 😂🤣
@James Morgan Me too! He is my salvation and my refuge 😂👍🏻
Sounds like your a miserable old fart like me.!!!! I do love Billy though.
@@FACELOWNER 🤔 .. 😂👍🏻 There’s mire than a few about in Billy’s fan club I don’t doubt 😉😂
@Jac K 😆 .. in YOUR (not so humble) opinion, that is. Luckily we are all wired differently 😁👍🏻
I had someone try to scare me with "there are ghosts / spirits in this place, so just be careful".
Found the best response is "that's fine, I hear voices so it's only right I finally see where they're coming from." Nothing gets someone to shut up quicker.
lol Thats great.
Lmao, I believe in ghosts but I’d love to hear that response from someone 🤣
Can I use this please?
@@rickyfinn2763 naw he copywrote it
It would not work for me. I would ask you thoroughly what the voices were telling you and probably write it down. That would make you more interesting.
I do so enjoy Billy Connolly. Though I'm still not entirely convinced that he and John Cleese are two separate individuals.
Their voice even sounds the same. If it wasn't for the accent.
lol i thought same
@@maxflow151 thought the same thing
You can't convince me that Billy Connolly isn't Tim the Enchanter without his horns.
I thought the same thing!!! It’s uncanny!
God's real name is not Percy, God is actually a painter called Harold. I remember it from school... "Our father, do art in Heaven, Harold be thy name...".
You sure he isn't a sculptor? Or maybe a folksinger? 😛
An his favorite song is gladly the crossed eye bear lol
What makes this even funnier for us Finns is that “perse” is literally arse in Finnish

"Slap them in the face" And now they've felt a specific form of energy, kinetic.
They were proved right because they felt the potential energy first.
Billy Connolly is one of the best comedians of all time. He can talk for hours without any apparent material and still make it hilariously funny.
"He can talk for hours without any apparent material." A lot in common with my ex-wife then.
Only she never even managed to make me even smile indulgently..... Billy on the other hand.... Makes me roar with laughter!

Billy, you are an absolute hero of mine. I've almost died on several occasions because I've not been able to breathe while laughing at your stories. I've seen stars and heard ringing in my ears, and I've loved every moment of it. If the whole world was filled with people just like you it would be a paradise of wisdom and joy. Thank you for every story, every world tour, every record, every show, every moment you've spent bringing laughter and happiness into this world. May your melons be always Afghan, may your soup be always Octopus Arsehole soup, may your incontinence knickers be always fresh, and may you be certain that you're loved and appreciated across the globe.
Well said
If everybody was like Billy we'd get sick and tired of it in half a day. It's the fact that he's RARE that makes him so precious.
This isnt his official channel he wont read it
Yeah. What a joy to have lived in this world along with Sir Billy. People don't know how to laugh any longer, which is sad, but I can always come here and catch my fix of Mr Connolly, which is brilliant!, so thx.
Me as well!
I love the ghost shows...they ask the spirits to give them a sign but when they get a sign they freak out and run away...🤣
"they've got everything - except a F#*king Ghost!"

So right about Derek Acorah 😂😂
I was so proud when I found out I was related to Billy. He is my gran's cousin. A proud Scot she was and so disgusted in Billy's humour she never told us :)

Why do people lie on the Internet all the time?
Found a video of Billy back in the 90's when I was about 6 and he still cracks me up . ❤
The Big Yin's been killing it for almost as long as I've been knocking around, and he's still got it!
i love this man, he is one of the greats. ever notice how our best comedians are some of our best intellects?
Yes. Such as Dave Chapelle and George Carlin, imo. Along with countless others before and after them.

Billy is one of a kind. He is hilariously funny. Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, and Billy Conolly are my three favourite comedians.
A REAL comedian! The best one in history. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm from "working class" Glasgow.)
Several of us were crashing over at a friend's place one night after a drinking session, and I woke up early because of the light and found myself, on the floor, next to the stereo. Everyone else was fast asleep. This was before mobile phones or internet (about 1988), so the only thing to do was listen to a tape on the stereo. I found some headphones there and looked through the tapes. I'd grown up without TV, but I'd heard of Billy Connolly and there was a tape by him. So I plugged the headphones in and listened to it, chuckling silently to myself so as not to disturb anyone else. That was, until I got to 'Ivan the Terrible'. I involuntarily laughed so hard I woke everyone else up. Mr Popular I was not.
Its amazing the burst of strength you get when you bite 🤣🤣🤣
@@markwilkie3677 exactly!
At first, I thought you were going to describe a ghostly paranormal experience 🤣
I guess Billy is though (paranormal). He’s fabulous; extraordinarily funny, raw and honest! A rare combo and definitely a dying breed.
I heard him on tape too for the first time, in my bosses car driving to a five a side match. I actually couldn't breathe . That would be late 80's early 90's
"I DON'T CAAARE!" 😂😂😂

been watching Billy since parky interviews mid 70s... love him ... he's still funny in his recent programmes ... I hate to see ill health nibble away at him ... 🥺
The bicycle joke, by any chance? 😉
Saw him live, I was glad when he went off stage, I had no energy left from laughing so much. Billy, Dave Allen and Ronnie Barker - unparalleled comedy. My Mum thought Billy had a "filthy mouth", but came close to piddling herself whenever he was on telly anyway.

'A grey lady walking across the lawn....' that is one of the best BC funniest performances ever. Don't leave us Billy. Ever. Or we'll be even more lost than we already are.
Billy is my favourite comedian and has been since I first saw him on the tele decades ago. I had bought his records, videos and saw him in Carnegie Hall in NY in the early 90's when I visited NY. I knew he was going to play there. I love Billy!
I love your work, seen you live in Perth West Australia 5 times..
Love your TV shows, interviews and admire your talks with your wife in how you've overcome so much.
Send us a sign when you pass because afterlife, ghosts are real.
I'll be waiting because even then you'll be brilliant
Billy is just amazing. One in a trillion.
Thank heavens for you Mr. Connolly. I watched some of that programme and I’ve always wanted to hide somewhere and spring at them at just the right moment and have someone film them screeching and screaming out the nearest door.
I've always thought of Billy as not a comedian at all! Just a storyteller who tells funny stories and the greatest storyteller I've ever heard! I miss his stand ups so much!
The word I would choose is raconteur. He is the very definition of the word.
@SpeccyMan having just looked up the definition, I agree.
Years ago went one Saturday night in London to Billy Connolly 's performance. I simply couldn't keep up.....still laughing at the very first funny lines he had uttered ...right through the show, knowing I had to listen hysterically to all the rest of his performance.....
exhausted with laughter and in tears at the end.
If it wasn't for CZcams then the under 20's would never know what it is like to have real humour on a stage making people laugh until they get a hernia in the way Sir Billy Connollydoes.
Your right damn kids now days lol 😆
Love Billy ..makes me proud to be Scottish ✨✨✨❤️❤️❤️
I am a fortunate one who has seen a real ghost.
Never forget it.
Late night in bed about age 13.
Rolled over and watched the ghost of my dad walk by my bed from foot to head and right through my bedroom wall...
58 now and the memory is as vividly seared into my mind as it was the night it happened.
I have no doubt I could pass a polygraph with ease.
Dad died 40 years later....
THEY DON'T FUCKING EXIST!
(I WAS OBVIOUSLY ASLEEP)

But man; as I relate this to you - the memory as I described IS vivid as hell...

Spot on Billy about that ghost programme. They were all related. Miss seeing you perform.🌹
🤣 Nothing gets me rolling harder than this guy, I swear.
I saw Billy twice in concert in Australia....took me 10 mins to catch onto his accent - couldn't breath the rest of the show!
This is what I don't understand, how he is loved so much outside the UK. How he seems to transcend countries. When he breaks into true Glaswegian or even light Scottish... How do they follow him. E.g. how would anyone know what a fish supper is ?
Just amazing his world following ... And we are all better for it ...
Billy Connelly should be hailed and exalted as a “living gem”. So refreshing to see his original and irreverent humour (anyone taking offence at the few “naughty” words should do just as the Dwarf Chieftain Dain said in “The Hobbit” - would you mind just “Sodding Off”)
Love Billy. For some reason his "why do they call you donkey?" Joke comes to my mind a few times a week
"Eeyore, Eeyore, Eeyore ways calls me that! ". 😁😁😁
Billy tells an awesome story. The way he does is so funny
He’s one of a kind. He’s the only comedian who makes me laugh every time🤣
The greatest of all time. No one beats Billy.
Another great comedian calling it as it is.
Ain’t gonna lie but Ghost Hunting with the Happy Mondays was probably the best couple hours entertainment I’ve seen since I last saw Billy perform. It was bloody hilarious. Shaun Ryder and Bez pissed up on a ghost hunt was comedy gold.
I ABSOLUTELY have to track this down now
this has me doubled up. the grey lady walking across the garden and Derek Acorah speaking to his guru hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha my face hurts
Nobody says 'fuck' like a comedian, and no comedian says 'fuck' like Billy. What a master. :¬)

This is pretty impressive, though the material would not come across in a transcript. This man has amazing charisma.
I thought that he was tied with Patrick McGoohan for best Columbo Villain in the revived version. Subtle acting touches. At the end, ever the good sport he asks: "Mr. Columbo, can you recommend a prison with a good music programme"?
And his distinct resemblance to John Cleese made me reflect on what a brilliant Columbo Villain Cleese would have made. Columbo vs. Basil Fawlty. Maybe he finally Jack Lemon'd his wife...
Oh how I love this man. 😀
Billy Connolly is to stand up comedy what Elvis was to rock and roll. May the king of comedy material never die😀😀😀.
I don't know if it's the hair, the lighting, or the voice but it was like "Holy crap - I'm watching John Cleese?" I adore them both!
OMG the Scottish equivalent of George Carlin. 💝 IT‼️
I miss me some good old fashioned, down to earth reality, in your face George Carlin!
I saw Derek acorah in Dublin airport once and always regretted not calling him a piece of shit to his face
Was he smashing your wife? If not that's very worrying behaviour to say that to someone you don't even know. Speak to someone about that before the wrong person serves you up.

All hail to the Clown Prince of Comedy. Wonder if he realises the number of people whose sanity he has probably saved over the course of his magnificent career. He certainly saved mine when I was growing up. I’ve adored him since I was 14. Am in my sixties now. I dread the day he’s no longer here. We won’t ever see his like again. A unique genius.

I love Billy. By the time I get through his videos my sides and stomach muscles are killing me.
I've had the 'a certain energy between us' line trotted out before more than a few times so allow your dear ol' Aunty Jenna to expand just a bit on what you do in those situations... after you slap them, hit them harder and run for the hills, possibly getting someone with a mental health care degree to go deal with the speaker too. Nothing good comes out of a line like that. Best case, it's a creep who is using a line that makes your skin crawl and should be scraped off their rock and tossed back into the sea - worst case, it ends with them explaining that energy is why they feel safe telling you how they really are vampires and know you connect throughout the ages. (And yes. I've had that happen. Still more normal than the guy who thought he was a werewolf hitting on me by telling me about his axe collection. While I sat on my husband's LAP and quietly prayed for an adult to come and rescue me. And no. I'm not kidding. Sigh. And no, it wasn't a halloween party. Different places/times. Both dead serious. I just wanted them to be dead. Seriously.) Harmless twat or nutjob that wants to wear your skin - they both need help above your paygrade, so run and hope the dumpster fire they are can be put out by someone else. ~shuder~
