You have got to be the most straight forward teacher I've seen for zbrush. Thank you for taking the time to help people like me.

Sean, you've already saved my life so many times, I can never thank you properly. Can I ask you though, if it's possible for you to make an add on to this tutorial, teaching how to accomplish the same but in Blender?

Glad to hear it Nilton! Unfortunately, I don't use Blender a whole lot (yet!), but maybe this tutorial will help you: czcams.com/video/qTgSLYY9uew/video.html. Hopefully it works for the version of Blender you are using: bartoszstyperek.gumroad.com/l/copy_verts_ids.

Hey sean great video! Thanks again for all your tutorials.
Just when you bring it back to zbrush will the subtools automatically have layers assigned after you tpose or was that manually set beforehand?

Thanks! Sure thing, it's set beforehand, you can see it at this part of the video: czcams.com/video/4Rt0vIN2KJk/video.html

Thank you for this video! Don’t suppose you have a budget version of this, not requiring Maya in the workflow? 👀

    • @SeanForsythTutorials

I don't, but the budget version would be using Blender instead. I don't use it that much myself though! (yet)

Hi Sean. Great tutorial, it helped me a lot. One question. What happens if I don't use Maya Step? What is the problem to reach the final? Thanks

You don't have to use Maya, but when the file comes back out of Mixamo, the vert orders will be changed, which cause ZBrush to not know how to match it up. So for this reason I use Maya (you can also use 3DS Max or Blender or Cinema 4D) to transfer the vert orders back to what was exported from ZBrush, so it will be able to use the new pose and understand which vertex is which.

Great video! Thanks for detailing the steps. Would you happen to know if vertex order can be transferred in any other way, say with Blender, because I don't have Maya. Cheers.

I haven't used it myself, but this seems to do the job. Hopefully it works for the version of Blender you are using: bartoszstyperek.gumroad.com/l/copy_verts_ids. There's a video showing how to use it here: czcams.com/video/qTgSLYY9uew/video.html

well, if I have not spent a fortune buying MAYA this does not help

You can also use Blender. I just happened to use Maya as that's what I normally use.
