I remember when Khan was knocked out by Prescott. Talksport interviewed some 20 names in British Boxing asking for their opinions. Out of those 20 names only 1 insulted Khan and said he should retire. That was Froch. He’s always hated Khan for whatever reason and post Prescott, when Khan proved him wrong and became a world champ and then subsequently cracked America, which Froch failed to do, he grew even more bitter. Even now, Brook and his team are all giving Khan respect, but Froch is still so so bitter. Maybe those rumours from a decade ago about Khan noshing his wife are true after all.

Always thought Brook would stop him, even when it was almost made a few years ago but dudes a A silver Olympian. Gold Jnr Olympian, beat the likes of Barrera then at 140lb went over to American wont light weltweight title and defended it in their back yard against the likes of Paulie, Maidana then unifying against Zab Judah. He did well to stay on his feet tonight but those fights and the Split decision again Peterson who was roided up, hitting hard and Stepping up 2 weights, and 4 weights from where he started to look decent for a few rounds before getting stopped in round 6 against Canelo. Guys never lacked heart as much as he annoys me sometimes, cunts who post the chicken dance videos etc forget he's done more than a lot of Brittish fighters in the lower weight classes abd going over there to do it. I was worried with Brooks age and how he usedd to always balloon up in weight between fights so half his camo would be weight loss before actual training, but the way he moved, pop in the punches etc, speed of his hands and accuracy, Khan couldn't get away from him.
Having said that I think Brook should also retire, this was a grudge fight many years in the making, he wont be as fired up for any other fights. He's beat the likes of Shawn Porter and was class in that fight despite being a heavy underdog, I remember seeing him go 12 rounds for the first time against ex ibf champ Lovemore N'dou, even though n'dou was getting older you could tell he was a proper talent. But he's made money, won world titles, got a handsome payday again for this longtime rivalry, hang the gloves up and go out on a high.

This is a perfect ending for Brook. Doesn't need to prove anything else. The only thing it will be now is for paydays, but taking the fight with Eubank is to much of risk and who really finds that interesting ? Firstly Eubank, needs to focus on becoming a world champion, man chats so much smack about wanting to fight GGG, wants the big fights, and then stands on TV and says he wants to fight Brook. I think the more entertaining fight would be against Benn, due to the weightclass being similar and seeing if the new can hang with the old. Even still, Benn needs to focus on fighting Avanesyan and stop calling out these fights with the older lot.

But it amuses me how many fans somehow see this result as a "vindication" about their mistaken belief that Brook has always been the superior boxer of the two. In my opinion, this is not the case. This fight was not any indicator of the merits of either fighter in their prime. Khan was shot years ago - the Crawford fight showed his speed had gone and he jacked that fight. That was about 5 years ago. He hasn't been in the ring for the last 3 years either. Khan has been a pale shadow for many years. Brook was obsessed with this fight and wanted it far more. His boxing advantages had not diminished as much as Khan's have. Khan's speed was 80% of his game. Brook's power and timing was still there. Personally, I consider Khan a better boxer than Kell. I can only base this on hard facts - comparing the CVs of both fighters over their entire careers. Eubank jnr has to get his name involved in a conversation somehow, even when it is a ludicrous match up.
Why is he worrying about fighting a 35 year old welterweight/light middleweight who is 5 years past his best?
He needs to worry about his own division and try to get a big fight at 160 before he himself ends up the wrong side of 35 having still not won a genuine title fight against a real quality opponent.
Brook is too small for Eubank jnr and, I think he, Brook, should either retire or roll the dice one last time and face Benn in the summer.

If you think Kell is 5 years past his best then you was watching a different fight on Saturday night! Apart from the leg and foot movement, that was Kell back to almost as good as he's ever been in terms of accuracy, timing and fight management! He could go on for at least 3 more fights after that performance and hopefully he will go back up in weight and school the idiot Eubank Jr!!

    • @leeabraham297

I really wouldn't want Benn to hurt Kell badly, I think that's a bad road to go down! Conor is young, fresh, strong, ripped and spiteful plus he has the hunger to finish off fights in a deadly fashion so that's definitely a more dangerous fight for Brook and I'd walk well away from that one if I was him and push for the Eubank Jr fight.
