  • Mower motor and blade engagement work,
    Mower won't move. Belt feels like alot of slop is there. Not a mower repair man, so belt or a pulley or guy said a cable. Worst case scenario tranny is Bad🙈

    Another very common thing ( this also happend on my customers unit today) sometimes the tires go flat and people remove the tires and rims to get good tires put on NOT REALIZING THERE IS A METAL SHAFT KEY that keeps rear wheels connected to the spindle of the transmission and when the tires get removed they fall out 90peecdnt of the time people don't even notice it. Then they put the tires back on and boom it doesn't move and there like what the hell lol

      Your brilliant. Two hours of working on it, 10 videos and I read your comment just now and realize I had just changed the tire for first day of spring today and she wouldn't move. Looked down there while pressing forward and axle was spinning. Wow! Where can I donate money? I'm ready to smoke a cigar in celebration, feels like I just saved a ton of money.

    Release the parking break the belt will tighten

  • @wyelandlebeouf7202

    So I will be returning there tomorrow and trying to change the fluid but luckily in your case its most likely that drive belt but you can't judge the drive belt being loose if the exbrake is engaged. You have to disengage the brake to allow tension to the belt brother so check that out. If the e-brake is disengaged and it's still sloppy on the tranny you've found the issue. If not it may not be routed properly.

      @keepondreaming3870  Před 3 lety

      I didn't have a belt issue, I'm sure. My issue was fluid or basically the transmission/ rear. I believe it needs flushed or fluids changed. But transmission is seperatd from mower/ rear.

      @@keepondreaming3870 did you ever find the drain and fill for the hydrostatic there hard to find but they are there 8mm on the bottom left corner. Fill has a rubber plug that normally faces upwards towards the tank

    • @keepondreaming3870
      @keepondreaming3870  Před 3 lety

      The drain is a rubber plug on top, it's off mower, havnt messed with it next.
      Should I replace fluid, dump and put new in. Do you have to drill or is there a nut?

    • @wyelandlebeouf7202
      @wyelandlebeouf7202 Před 3 lety

      There is an 8mm on the bottom corner depending which way your look at the transmission from the rear it should be bottom in the rear on the right hand or from the front bottom left hand on the front. I always pull that and it drains the transmission then I use the plug on the top for fill and when I put the stop back in if I damaged it during removal (sometimes there stuck and hard to remove sometimes it's super easy) but if damaged use some oil resistant gasket maker and stick it back in place after refill

    • @wyelandlebeouf7202
      @wyelandlebeouf7202 Před 3 lety +1

      If all else fails then you'll have to use that rubber stop as a drain by turning the rear end upside down. Then put it right side up and refill. When the fluids going bad it doesn't allow the small pistons within the transmission to pressurize causing a no movement condition

    make sure that pin in the back of it is pushed in, if it isn’t pushed in it will only stay in neutral

    I have a YTH18542 lawnmower wont go in reverse or forward. Belt is in place from what I have seen, when it starts rolling down the hill the brakes don't work, and it will move sometimes with the blade engaged. It has me stumped, possible my transmission is going out?

    I have the exact same thing going on... Any luck fixing this? I know the transmission belt that is loose gets more tense as you depress that pedal. I believe it should be pretty loose. Either way, mine stopped in the middle of cutting the yard.

      It is serviceabke unit but it's best left to a professional I'm doing this very same unit for a customer and it's very labor intensive you have to remove the entire rear body panel to remove the tank. The crappy part is you have to remove the front shround and pick it up to get the frame from under( on top of removing steering wheel all the cables connected to motor you also have to remove all the cables for the brake lock and etc and remove the brake licking mechanism for clearance reasons, once you've managed to get it removed there is a drain bolt on the right side of the hydrostatics it 8mm but the reason for all this dissammelbly is because the fill for the hydrostatic is facing upwards right under the gas tank. I'm sure you could make some type of pump contraption to avoid doing all this but you still end up having to at least relieve the rear enough for gas tank removal. I've been doing this kind of work since I was 16 I'm 24 now it's a big pain when the hydrostatic goes out because it never supposed too! Love the old gear selector tranny's most of the time those don't go in gear it's a gear selector issue but not in these hydrostatics NO GEAR SELECTOR
