I was able to access the top of the transaxle and fill the oil from the top by removing the battery and battery tray. The fan and pulley are easy to remove in place. Removing the fill plug was a little bit awkward, but still a lot quicker than removing the whole axle.
This video was helpful in locating the fill plug and learning to remove it.

@@freewillchoice8052 it was quite easy. You need to just drop the transmission from the mower. Take all the bolts out and be careful when splitting the transmission in half. You need to sort of pry and gently tap the seam with a chisel. Don’t forget to razor off the old gasket material and clean well with a solvent. Replace the filter and any bad seals. Use High Temp gasket sealer when outback together. When refilling I recommend using the suggested fluid. I know some people use regular motor oil but I didn’t want to have to do this again in the future. Good luck.

Pointing and talking about the task doesn’t help me know how to do the task. Next time show the tool and how it’s used. You can get a wearable camera or position the camera with a tripod while you work. Thanks!

To each his own. Sorry the video didn’t help you specifically. I don’t make 30 minute videos showing bolt removals. If you need to be shown how to use a ratchet I can make a short that shows how they work and send it your way.

If you cant do this after watching this video, you should be paying someone to do it. Great video, it was perfect and helped me do mine!
