Note to new d2r players (as old players already know this): this is incorrect.
- none of these are worth "more than your ENTIRE ACCOUNT" - unless your account is less than 10 days old or something.
- a lot of these fall under the "used to be good" category. For example, the +6 to LS claws. These are now worthless, as a self-wielded infinity (in a brandistock or whatever) blows them out of the water for a trap assassin since sunder charms were introduced. A -25 griffon (lightning rainbow facet) coupled with a -55 infinity will bring enemy lightning resistances down to 15 max and that's BEFORE the conviction aura is applied. No claws can compete with that. No, not even the so-called +6 to LS claws. No, not even if you have 2 of them.
- some of them don't exist, as they can't exist. One example would be at 9:47, with the "powered eldritch orb of the magus", which, in addition to the +6 and 20 FCR, has 60 life. This doesn't exist. Magic items can have one prefix and one suffix. Powered = +3 light skills. Of the magus = 20% fcr. The other +3 to lightning and lightning mastery are staff mods, which don't count. Where did the +60 life come from? It's made up, as simple as that.
- some of them wouldn't be used by anyone in their right mind (like the 50% MF amulet). The only reason to use one of those is if you're using it to make a video along the lines of "what's the highest amount of MF you could wear" (with no practical implications, as no one would bother doing that for obvious reasons). Anyone who understands how MF works understands why that amulet is charsi food. The only amulets anyone cares about are the crafted amulets, +2 skills, close to 20 fcr, close to 20 all res, whatever other useful mods you can get.
- Two magic items which are definitely expensive are 6/40 javelins and the jmod. Yeah, sure, they're expensive - not "more than your entire account" expensive, but expensive. But most of the items listed there are close to medium-value at best. For example a +6 bo helm. I can go and buy one right now for 200 fg. To put that into context, that's 2 5/5 rainbow facets. If that's more than your entire account is worth, all I can say is maybe try logging in more than once a month... "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "
- the 3/20 gloves are largely worthless. The best for javazons would be crafted 2/20 caster gloves (+3 maek with some other mods, like str/dex). The best for assassins are crafted 2/20 (usually crushing blow ones or rare ones with MF). I don't know why the bowazon gloves are listed. I've not seen a bowazon in years, I doubt anyone's playing one on ladder.
- finally, the valuable stuff on this list is so extremely rare that ID-ing blue items in the hope of finding something valuable will result in so much time wasted picking up crap (usually in the cube, id-ing, dropping it) that you'd be better off just playing the game and picking up "proven" drops only (say runes or uniques or whatever). I leveled to 99 recently, online. In the past 2 weeks I found jah, Zod, 3 Ohms, 2 Lo, 3 Vex - these are all recorded and uploaded, so no, it's not bs - along with an unknown number of other valuable drops (shakos, storms, vipers etc), I crafted "perfect" runewords (35 spirits etc) and I have not found ONE valuable magic (blue) drop, although I was ID-ing anything I knew could be valuable. YMMV, but keep that in mind.
As for this list, it's missing the one item everyone would care about, namely charms. +20 life +5 all res small charms and +45 life +1 skill grand charms (to pala combat, to sorc lightning, to javazon, to MA). Those are magic and they are extremely valuable. I wouldn't go as far as saying that they're more valuable than an entire account, but they do have value.
Orbs can spawn with either life, or mana in addition to +skill staff mods.
man games been out over 20 years and we still see items we never seen before, i wish games today did this ...
11:11 Runic Talons have higher stat requirements (115str/dex vs 79/79), so Greater Talons are prefered for builds where weapon dmg is irrelevant. Aside from that, I believe, they can roll the same.

One of the best magic items I ever found were in 1.09 days, it was a Cruel ethereal Balrog spear of Evisceration, it was the best "poke" stick and rolled perfect on the ED 300% and rolled +57 on the max damage. It may not sound like much today, but Jabzons were one of the best PvP classes at the time, so that spear kicked some serious ass.

look up rare ethereal cruels weapons and rare eth rep fools weapons. they are the coolest items in the game in my opinion
You could spend your entire life picking up blue items and never identify anything here medium tier or above.
The chances of rolling all the mods required to hit a very high tier item makes Tyraels might look like a common drop.

Last season, I found an amlet that was 3 to lightning skills, 27 damage reduction. With arcanes chest armor, my immortal sorceress was truly an immortal.
Greater talons and ruinic talons, it's about the stats that is required to wear the mentioned claws, less stats required is better because that is what you can save to put in health
3:43 im glad you mentioned this amulet, ive found 47, 43, 39, and 35, i usually trade the higher ones for 2-4 HRs, the perfect MF amulet is worth like 20-40 hrs people want it bad XD

The problem is that most of these are just so insanely difficult to find. I've been playing D2 ever since it was released in 2000 and I have never found any of those high level magic items. Meanwhile, I've found many high runes and most of the uniques. It would be nice if they improved the chances for rolling some of the better magical combinations. As it exists now, there is such a low chance of ever using a magical item over a rare/set/unique item.
Last season I got a +3 Druid Summons amulet with Teleport charges. It was great

The sorc orb is for the Machine Sorc, with enchant for prebuff. A friend bought such a thing.
Once i found 2 items godly magical for summ necro---> Wand with 3 to raise skeleton & Skeleton mastery & amplify damage and shrunken head with 3 to raise skeleton & Skeleton & Mastery & clay golem ... Insane starting items really.
I like picking up rings and amulets for the 3 reroll in the herodric cube.
The greater talons are the best base for the +6 LS because they have the highest innate attack speed, and the requirement to wear them is low. Runic talons are just as good except the requirement to wear them is much higher, which means they're bad for pvp since you're wasting stats that could have instead been put into life. The skills that spawn on greater talons also spawn on many other claws.
I've heard of a crazy zealer dueling community that values magic and rare gear with extremely high defense, AR, and damage rolls, upwards of thousands of US dollars.

The greatness of this game is that unlike other games, has usefull items on every rarity, not just epics/legendaries
I'm not aware of a single game that had a better itemization system than Diablo 2 and its a big part of why this game is still so successful nearly 25 years later. I wish game developers used this same philosophy of designing all tiers of drops to remain relevant and have some reward.
Even after playing since Lod I still learned a few of these. I also usually never pick a lot of these up but I'll definitely have it more in mind while mfing
A few days ago on a total whim I picked up all the blue ammies I found. One was a +3 cold skiller with 10%FCR.

Runic talons are the same as greater talons except they do more physical damage and they require more strength and dex. Since traps/kicks don't use physical damage off your weapon, runic talons are worse than greater talons since you need more strength and dex.
I found 2 sors 2 cast rate 1 meteor and 2 fire mastery or something Sors Orb. ITs a cool thing in the begining, when you dont have anything else :)
the damage reduce one, use it on industructible sorceress. They use damage reduction but not reduce %
The problem with all of these is that you get way more useful playtime out of just speedfarming runes instead of looking at blue items all day long. I did a lot of Diablo Runs when I played a lot and high-runes dropped like candy and I could pretty much buy anything I wanted, which kind of destroyed the fun of the game. The last thing I bought was a perfect Torch for Sorceress and it felt as if I won the game, so I quit the game.
My cousin had a 50 mf ammy on his sorc back in the day, he had almost every item slot with the highest MF possible on that char at the time, and combined with his merc I think it was something like 1300% MF.
Unnecessary we knew but it was more so just for a project character. All he was missing was 5 mf on one of his rings, and i think it was 15 on his circlet, something in that area.
Last ladder it paid off. I got a 6nado helm with life, which Larzuk was kind enough to give it two sockets.
I’ve found that blue items tend to be more likely to roll higher quality modifiers and that yellow are less likely,and I feel that may be due to the amount of prefix and suffix’s they can roll
I'll never sleep on Magic items again! Funny I came across this vid actually. I've been grinding my lvl 75 HC Necro on Ladder and I realised today that I'm still using a Magic amulet I found way back in Normal... 35% Fire Res and 40% Magic Find, it's a hard one to top!
It ends up to how much energy and will you have to pick up every blue as well. I more often take only charms and circlets. like Regular Schmuck said that at some point the trade off is that you might star to enjoy the game less. This is very good vid though as i was wondering what was i even looking on circlets xD

I accidentally transmuted a +3 ele +88life druid ammy when this game first launched. I was sick.
i just want a mod or something that shows potential ranges on item tooltips, and would highlight items (or border them or something) if they are peak for their ranges to help them stand out.
Some classes don't get a ton of value out if the ,+skills, so a 3socket tiara with mf can be huge with 3x15/45 jewels or something, way more damage than 2+skills will give and not to mention an extra 45% attack speed with them jewels.
And on the claws, greater talons have way less stat requirement to use than runic claws, both can roll all the skills, its just that greater talons are the exceptional version and runic is elite version, so runic naturally have like way more stat requirements while iirc the only min damage better, max damage the same, and alot of the time thses are kinda "caster claws" in a way,

Heh, I actually had a 50% mf amu on a sorc way back in 1.09. Nice to know my instinct was correct regarding its value. It’s gone now though along with the character :/.
+3 warcries 80% goldfind circlet with a 2 socket roll. Been trying for so long in single player. No luck. The amulets with +3 skills and 10fcr are not too difficult to gamble. You can not gamble class specific items, so those are always going to have the highest value. Everything else is somewhat obtainable with mass gambling. The class specifics that roll top tier are super rare.
I found a pair of gauntlets with +3 Jav/Spear skills, no additional stat though
I believe all exceptional and elite claws can have the skills on them - normal claws cannot. Greater talons preferred for highest base attack speed and lower requirements to equip.
I found a sorc wand with 2 cold skill 2 cold mastery and 3 blizzard with some bunch of resistance, do you have a tip on Wich website I could sell it?
That item is wortless without fcr and being max 30lvl.
buddy.. i once owned probably the most op blue item on diablo 2, it can be found in resurected aswell, bahamut's circlet of life everlasting, got lucky and socketed 2 holes into it. Put that on your immortal sorc with the proper runes/pskulls and its the best possible
I found a 50 Mf amulet on my S1 ladder sorc, i always wondered if it was worth anything, still sitting in my personal stash today!!! if anyone wants it for non-ladder id be glad to send it your way
Most expensive item I’ve found was 3 lightning skills, 10 fcr amulet.
6/40 Javs are my favorite and easily the most powerful Magic item
I always id those blue items for years but they are extremly rare
Magic Circlets and Amulets with high end "of life everlasting" mods (Damage Reduced by 20→25 range), are worth a lot too, surprised they aren't on the list:
+2 Class Skills/+3 Skill Tree
Dmg reduced by 25
I think the sorc fire skills, warmth and enchant wands are just for pre buffing for bow sorc. maybe for pvp too, not sure on that part. i dont pvp much.
but i had a couple bow sorcs on D2R and that would be fucking insane for pre buffing.
Makes me wonder can't I somehow just train AI model on those values and then make it so that if I screenshot item then some background service would pick that screenshot up and display price on my 2nd monitor?

a lot of fun doing Baal runs when powerlevelling.. ended up learning how to set up a pindle bot to avoid using maphack to stay clandestine..

I have sold most of these to Fara lololol, honestly they aren't that hard to find, unless I am just extremely lucky.
Season 2 I sold Amulet 2cold +34mf for a Lo.
I got a couple nice yellow pieces at the start of ladder. That’s about the only time I’m picking up yellows and blues.
Rares Especially Eth weapons, can have INSANE value. Eth rare armors as well. Rare circlets/boots/amulets/rings/gloves all can have value. Generally if its a weapon if its eth ID it. If not toss back on the ground(sorc orbs are an exception, always ID them). 250-300% enhanced damage and fools mod with self repair and 30-40 ias is ideal, 2 sockets and you hit a supreme rare. Sorc orbs with 2 skills 3 main skill and 3 mastery with 2 sockets if rare or no socket if blue are insane, where a magic can get 3 to a skill tree tab like light/fire/cold, combined with like 3 blizz/fireball/lightning/nova as well as the respective mastery are GODLY. They are very rare though, but can get LOTS of value.
