Torts has made the third round once since he won the cup 20 years ago. When he was swapped with AV in 2013-14, Torts took a Canucks playoff team to an 83 point finish while AV took a Rangers playoff team to the finals.
Leafs would probably have more playoff losses with him.

100%, Keefe has to get some heat for his lines. he always acts like there was no choice than to go back to things that didnt work BEFORE.
This is Keefes last year. He is not an NHL coach. He constantly changes his lines to the point that you are uncertain as to who might be on the ice together. How do you create any sort of rhythm with teammates. Keefe and Shanahan must go.
And no doubt a cause for at least a few too many men penalties...
Keefe just needs to get the boot!

I’d rather see Marner walk than sign for $12 million. There will never be a cup in Toronto with there lack of depth and having 50% of your cap in 5 guys? Obviously isn’t the right strategy.

He has been the best defenseman this season overall. Why do they need a guy who scores 5 goals on a season as a defender? That's why you have a stacked forward group. Use your best defensemen and you have a better chance of winning, but hey. I don't get paid money for this, so I'll just watch it from afar and get pissed off with these decisions lol

My fave part was after being torched for 2 goals, TJ Brodie (as in the same guy who hasn't scored in more than a calendar year) decided to start joining the rush and forechecking, leaving Morgan Rielly as the stay at home guy on the pair.
Even in 2021 when they were a good pair together that would still be a monumentally bad idea

Tip of the hat for Sammy. Stat line wasn’t great but they left him out to dry through the entire mid game. Could have easily been 5 goals against by the end of 2

Op, I do agree that Philly had a decent amount of shots on Sammy. But 3 of 4 goals were line of sight with at least two of them he should have saved. Sammy crouches so close to the ice, keefe might as well just pull him for a 6th player. Drives me nuts how open the top half of the net is. Sammy shit the bed too. That being said.. he is allowed to have a bad game since his recent good run of wins.
@@jesseburke3990? No he won’t. Sammy has been amazing. He’s had one bad game and let in maybe 4 bad goals since he came back to the lineup.

Hey Steve, you might want to ask yourself this, Why is it, in the past 3 years, that there have been serious problems with Morgan Rielly's pairings. He is supposed to be your stud defenseman! You could have played Ray Bourque with a turnstyle, and nobody would notice, because Bourque made everyone look good. But Rielly seems to be having the opposite effect on his defensive partners! Hunwick, Polak, Jake Gardner, Hainsey, Ceci, Zaitsev, & now Brodie. How long is it before the Leafs realize that Rielly is NOT a franchise defenseman?
Not sure which I want to see more in next year's intro...The Tony the Tiger bit, or the mustard on the cupcake bit!

The best Brodie has looked all season was with Liljegren. Pure coincidence though, Liljegren has looked his best with brodie. McCabe/Benoit has been our best pair all season. Rielly and Edmundson were a D-pair in Jr. Maybe give that a try. But the only guy that should come out when lyubushkin is well, is brodie. Definitely not Benoit again. That cant happen again.

At this point, I feel like the whole organization needs a reset. Keefe needs to go, Shanahan needs to be Shanacanned, Brad probably needs ro to go too. Excuses don't work for this team any longer. BOOKMARKING the mustard cupcake for the end of season/future LFR intro reel.
Something I’ve noticed recently is the Leafs are getting consistently beaten in man-on-man board battles. Noticed it a lot with Carolina. In this game for example, watch back the 3rd goal, Domi and Matthews basically gave up on a 2-on-1 board battle, allowing the Philly guy to make the play that lead to the goal.
