    just in case anyone else has trouble finding the adhesive - it's called "sikabond construction adhesive".
    Great video. I have a very small fireplace (not a real fireplace) and was hoping to find a way to use the drywall instead of replacing it with cement board. Thank you

    Can I use this over brick on fireplace with a wood burning insert? Would the glue get soft from the heat or should thinset mortar be used

    The product looks great. I would like to do a wall that is 8' X 8' and drywall. What would you recommend I cover the drywall with before gluing on the stone?

    great video.. thanks... i have similar stone to install over a wall which is 18' high... some professionals are say it is ok to install them over drywall and some are saying i have to install wire/mesh/backer board over drywall. cost difference is alot between them. What do you guys suggest to your customers??

    What would you recommend to use for cinderblock?

    • @GreenmarkBuilders

      we would use thinset with additive for exterior applications, talk to someone at your local hardware store to see what they recommend for your area. Best of luck!

    thx! just normal drywall behind the stone?

    • @GreenmarkBuilders
      @GreenmarkBuilders  Před 7 lety +2

      Hi Jeff,
      We use regular drywall behind our stone on small applications like this. We suggest cement board or plywood depending on the application when we are doing full walls. All the best with your project!

    Dont need to draw a level line to start? We can just start of the floor all the way up?

    What saw is that?

    • @GreenmarkBuilders
      @GreenmarkBuilders  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately they don't seem to make this style of saw any more. Last year I started using this saw from Home Depot. I don't like it quite as much but it's a great saw for the value. www.homedepot.ca/product/ridgid-9-amp-7-inch-portable-wet-tile-saw-with-stand/1000744927

    Can I put cement board on top of drywall.?

    • @GreenmarkBuilders
      @GreenmarkBuilders  Před 3 lety

      absolutely. I usually glue and screw cement board on drywall for added strength in that application.

    • @GreenmarkBuilders

      My apologies. I made cuts with a wet saw and glued them in place just like the sides.

    Just a pity they don’t do wrap-around corners. They make for a better finish.

    • @amyj618
      @amyj618 Před 6 lety

      I just looked at their website, and it appears that for some products they do make wrap around corners that you can purchase. You should check it out. Hope this helps.

    Would that adhesive be recommended for 5x 9 ft cement board fireplace framing or thinset is a better choice?

    • @GreenmarkBuilders
      @GreenmarkBuilders  Před 7 lety

      I always perfer using glue in a container because I'm not the fastest installer in the world. I've used thinset in the past (works great) for larger applications where there is not much cutting.

      Greenmark Builders I have two concerns...first : what about if my fireplace it's made of bricks ....what kind of adhesive I suppose to use? The glue that you are using, thinset or other type of material. Second: my mother has fireplace made of bricks and also it's painted....what she suppose to do?...thanks in advance.

    Can I install the neutral stone on sheetrock?

    • @GreenmarkBuilders
      @GreenmarkBuilders  Před 3 lety

      I don't recommend it if you a re doing a full wall or full fireplace. You can add a wire mesh and do a skim coat over it for added strength.
