This video breaks down the camping/overlanding bin my girlfriend and I have put together. We often go camping but hate the hassle of getting everything together. When we go overlanding, I will add extra emergency tools that you may see in later videos. This storage bin makes prep simple, so we can focus on the journey. We hope you enjoyed the video!

The only thing I think you missed is a small folding shovel. Always good to have a way to clean out a fire pit, make sure your fire is well out, dig an emergency latrine, or dig your vehicle out if you get stuck. Nice, compact setup. Cheers!
I appreciate the recommendation! I’ll have to add one!
@@LensLifeOfficial look into the little “cold steel” one sharpened and very sturdy.
Or for a trench when it rains.
I'm planning on converting my SUV to a camper and I want all my stuff to fit in one of those buckets this was super helpful!!
Not essential, but a metal rake to remove rocks under your tent is nice to have. I also bring firewood and an axe for making kindling. And tarps for under and over the tent. I bring a large tarp that more than covers the tent and extends out over the entrance, making an awning over our rug and shoes in the doorway. I put up the tarp with nylon twine, tying it to nearby trees and/over makeshift poles. The twine also acts as a clothes line.
Smart to have everything consolidated. Almost picked up a box the other day but gotta get my awning/awning room first.
Put some red taillight repair tape around those lanterns. Won’t blind you and won’t keep you up all night bc of the blue. Or just wrap a headlamp around a 1gal water bottle (milk jug style; full of water, of course).
FYI with that Coleman stove, the stem that you put inside doesn't have to rattle around, there is a hole at the back of the stove for you to put the stem in so that it will stay in place.
I hadn’t known that! I’ll test that out for transporting! Thank you, Alex!
@@LensLifeOfficial you're welcome, it took me a while to figure it out too.
I was going to say the same thing! One end of the stem fits nicely in the hole!
Going out to check my alleged super secret Coleman hole right now!
Soooo, there's a hole but if you put the gold end in, the whole regulator flops around about the same. What am I missing?
This is pretty helpful! if it doesn't fit in the box, don't bring it. This is a good way to minimize clean up. Thank you
This video has encouraged me to go camping!! Thank you!
thanks for sharing! I'm solo camping this week for the first time, your advice is appreciated!
Thanks Donia, I'm happy you learned some tips! I hope you have a great time camping!
This 27 gallons bin is the king, I can stack two of this on the truck with a cover.
Just getting into camping and I’m already gonna need one of those bins
I have two of these bins! Depending on what style of camping we are doing (mainly, am I cooking over a fire or a grill. it changes up my cook gear. One is all cast iron, the other 7 fold copper bottom steel)
Nice set up, we do something very similar. Paper towels between the metal pans will help with rattling also.
Jeeping... And the same paper towels can be handy to have while cooking.
@@bondee5865 Yes, great point. Anytime I get off the blacktop, I worry about rattling items causing improper wear on my gear. I wonder if there is a better solution than paper towels? I'll mention this in the next update video.
I usually layer my table cloth and hand towls with my gear. Mainly cause I try not to bring too much disposable items I have to track back out.
Instead of packing toilet paper, I pack wet wipes. More uses and takes less space, especially in a back pack. Great video.
Good stuff. I have been looking into doing a one tub system. This has given me a lot of things to look into.
I'm glad you enjoyed. The bin has worked great for us, very convenient for storing gear while not camping!
Tidy and complete, very nice. Travel well!
The gas connector for the Coleman actually goes in that hole in the back behind the burners and holds pretty still
I get a notification for this video the day I bought a container to put assorted camping supplies in to organize my room. Eerie
Thanks to your comment.. Now the algorithm knows they are correct.. It only gets stronger hahaha
One box to rule them all
It's just Precioussss, isn't it?
Great info, thanks! You had me laughing at Ham ock, wasn't sure what you were saying at first. I guess in the south we say it like hamuck. 😉
First aid kit for 3-4 people is mandatory for my trips. A few lighters or BBQ lighter. Have Coleman lantern, works great, can adjust brightness for site.
First aid is huge. I did not include this in the video, but the permanent load out in my Jeep has all sorts of emergency gear, including a trauma kit. I've heard great things about the Coleman lanterns, but have never tried one for myself. I'm worried about the heat. Maybe I should get one to review?
@@LensLifeOfficial Coleman's have propane which can be placed away from everyone and casts great light for site, helps with bugs too ha. Lots to choose, it's a nice source of light, feels like camping.
A burn kit which is not usually in a first aid kit is a must. Don't know how many times others burn themselves. Me and fire have a mutual understanding. Lol
My first aid kit that I keep in the Jeep at all times includes a burn kit! Great suggestion!
Great info- great suggestions for the cooking and the essentials and the bear mace! Keep these going! Very informative- BTW- Loved your other video for sleeping accomidations in the Jeep.
VERY nice camping/prep tote. You did a great job.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Hint for using cookware over a fire, rub the outside with dish soap before putting on the fire grate. When you wash up your dishes, do this cookware last but it will be clean when you finish.
Simple and efective.. nice.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! Please continue to share camping tips. Would like if you share meal recipes also!
Thank you for the encouragement! I'm glad you enjoyed. I do have a few recipes that I can share, thank you for the suggestion!
Excellent setup. Thank you for sharing what you use.
Got the new version of the Stanley kit thanks heaps it’s awesome
I have the same tote! Actually, I have five. That thing is AWESOME!
Best totes for most anything. I usually bring a large one and 2 small ones to hold everything. Lids are perfect for stoking a fire and using as trays for food prep.
Nice vid. Going camping this Friday😁
You can get the tall stainless container with the cups inside at Walmart. Great item!
OMG….we take waaay more than that. Good for you.
👍 Good vid. Very helpful. Thanks for including the bloopers at the end!!! 😂 Keeping it lite. Can you please remind me of the link for the trash 🗑 system you used here? Thank you very much!
Here is the exact one I have! There are a few different colors to choose from! Plus there may be a prime day discount!
amzn.to/3zMLt0J
Great video. I think a bin like that is a an awesome idea. Thanks!
I love some of your ideas....thanks
Great kit! Got some good ideas to upgrade my own multiple tub setup :P
This was in my recommended videos this morning. Very good list. I'm not seeing a link to the lights you mentioned. Do you have one because those would be perfect for the house when we lose power due to hurricanes/tropical storms (I live in Louisiana). Thanks and a new subscriber.
Thank you for the sub! I’m glad you enjoyed! I’ll have to make an update video soon because I’ve gotten a lot of new recommendations. Also, here is a link to the lights! Another follower on here mentioned that they sanded down the sides of the lanterns to make them a softer light! amzn.to/2V2ZU0R
@@LensLifeOfficial Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to the updated video.
Nice setup!
Thank you! I also enjoy fishing!
I’m onboard with everything except the hammocks. It’s hard to find decent places with trees and I haven’t really ever been one to sleep in a hammock and with a wife and 2 younger kids they tend to be kind of bougie and would rather sleep in our big 10person tent. I bet I could still manage to fit most of our stuff in one box. We have 2 right now. Kitchen box and bedding box. I’d like to consolidate them down and ditch some of the unnecessary crap that we take with us and never use.
Yes, I understand! Bedding can always get really bulky. 2 bins for 4 people isn’t that bad!
His pronunciation of hammock got me. It sounded like ham-mock, where most people say it more like hamuck. Might be a regional thing. Just struck me as different.
The trash bag on the outside of your jeep is also called Bear Bait. Bears are smart, careful where you park.
Great point I'll include in the next update video! Thank you for the comment, Robert!
This is an older video and see no more post just wondering what’s up really like the content and you mentioned a few other things you wanted to do in future ones
We used to call them 'grub' boxes (groceries & camping gear).

Thank you all for watching!
Hit that bell notification, as I will be posting a channel update this week!
Cheers.
Good video. Does the bear spray get replaced if you don't use it for months or year(s)
Can you please post a link for the griddle?? I need a daily small one like that for my camping grill!!
Those little camp lights if you scuff up the clear plastic you can get the light output to be much better like a frosted lens vs the clear lens those leds are very direct and the light output is horrible because they just blind you
This is an awesome idea! I’m definitely going to try this out!!
Where can I get the dishes and drain tray with utensils?
Question will the skillet fit in the stove would save space!
Great question! I tested this out, and it does not close all the way down. Maybe a different stove would allow this? Let us know here if you find one!
@@LensLifeOfficial maybe the Coleman that uses fuel instead of propane?
Cool dish set up... a note- the mic is picking up sounds of handling the items making those sounds louder than your voice
Use the drying rack to drain pasta.
That's smart, I haven't tested that! I'll give it a shot next camping trip!
Where did you get the box container that you put everything into?
Home depot has them
Yes! That’s where I got mine!
What’s the size of the camping box container?
Great information
Where did you get the skillet for the pancakes?
I believe I found it at a camp shop up north! It is Coleman brand if that helps!
What Name brand is the chuck box?
The bin is called "HDX Tough Storage Bin" I believe mine is a 27 gallon. I'd recommend checking out Home Depot for the best price!
good kit.....but where are you from?!?! Have never heard of a Ham-mOCK....
I wondered about that myself. Lol
nice!
Do you have a link for your mini led lanterns? Thanks!
amzn.to/2Tk1Y3I
I’ve had them for about 3 years now and I love them!
I also found these ones with a magnetic base, and might be more water resistant!
amzn.to/3fkxuad
And Luci lites rock as well. 😎
Yes, I’ve had multiple recommendations to check these out! Going to look at picking up a set!
Harbor Freight has them also.
How much and what kind of food do you take?
I’m a light packer when it comes to food while camping with my girl.. usually brats for over the fire, then leftovers in the morning with some oatmeal. But when I go camping with others we bring a feast!
Where can I find the video for your survival knife?
Where is your luci lights?
Hi Joyce, I've never heard of luci lights? The cheap ones I have are from amazon, but I'd be interested in testing out others!
Luci lites are the BEST!!!
@@LensLifeOfficial luci lights are solar and you blow them up. Amazon has them Rei has them you stick them in a window or the sun and at night yohh in turn them on. They are very compact.
They sound nice, I’ll look at adding those to the setup!
I love my luci lights too. No batteries and they are compact too. I have one that also blinks red for emergencies in my car.
Intéressant
Merci
What is the name of your bin and where to buy
The bin is called "HDX Tough Storage Bin" I believe mine is a 27 gallon. I'd recommend checking out Home Depot for the best price!
Take a look at Claymor3 lights, rechargeable and last a long time.
Looks brand new. You ever actually use any of that?
Nope, just a collector!
How did u pronounce that knife?
It’s either mora or morak, I’m unsure
It sounded like u said it with the v at the end…. It’s mora.
Great content thank you very much.
Damn bro take the housing off your GoPro . Sounds like you’re underwater
Hahaha, I finally got a mic, so hopefully that will help!
Snake oil
. his long investigation meant reading Dr Norman Walker's books. Gundry regurgitates
Little guy complex
Did you paint those pants on, or accidentally put on your girlfriend's?
It was laundry day, what can I say
How the heck can you fit all your camping gear in one box. I can't even fit all my backpacks in one box. I've got a box with nothing but tents, and it's full. I can fit all my camping gear in one room, except the boats and bikes of course. I think you must live a much more disciplined gear life than I do.
Hahaha! Having one box with all the gear we actually use makes it easier to pack up for a quick weekend of camping!
How many people do you pack for?
Just my girl and I!
dude is wearing his girlfriend's pants
It was laundry day
Please pad the work surface so the noise is not distracting to we viewers please. Also check your already rather quiet voice. Interesting but you seem rushed and need tech improvement. Best of luck.
Thanks for the recommendation, Linda. I'll consider this for the next video! I have a new microphone, that should help with distracting noises. Thank you!
