As always , looking great, did not know they would allow that grinding, great idea on putting the outline grind to keep it even, learned a lot from this video....best wishes from Florida, Paul
Outstanding work man showing the true grind of testing.
Awesome video Rico!! I learned quite a bit from this one. Can't wait to see what you got coming up.
Definitely one of my favorite channels to watch.
Hell yea, I’ve been doing structural work for a while, tryna move up
Appreciate the videos!
Good shit man! I love watching and learning from your videos. I start my welding training at Georgia Trade School in the fall so watching you gets me ready mentally 👍🏽 keep up the hard work and pumping out content!!
damn brody good shite! i started welding in middle school and kept doing it through high school and thought that's what my career was going to be. life happened and i went a different route but i've always loved welding and how the finished product says it all. I own a couple businesses in home building and home inspections now but i still love watching a beast welder. good shit young homie, i'm sure you're an inspiration to alot of young bucks coming up lost and wanting to learn a skill. In this day and age and all the bs going on its good to see the trades keep this country running. Much love from your neighbor in SA!
Thanks for what you did to show us a real situation.

Yes brother slick cap. Got a chrome-oly procedure tomorrow. Burning and learning 👨🏼🏭
Hell yeah good luck 👍🏼
Nights sucks, especially for a welder. I used to X-ray welds at night and when I would come in before the end of their shift to setup, some welders would wanna give me their phone number so I could call them to let them know if they passed or busted. I hate letting guys know they busted. But I’m just doing my job at the end of the day.
Stainless cap looked nice!!!
Good video , your a slick welder brother! Keep them videos coming.
I'm 69 I'm an old Retired pipe fitter, When I started out as a young man 45 years ago I didn't have any schooling either I learned everything by trial-and-error, Some of the old timers would show you And others were hateful bastards, And when you got better the good guys were on your side the haters hated you even more, I was left handed But I could really well with either hand, The young guys gave me the frigging nickname golden arm, Don't Like being bragged on, Just Babbling, old guys we'll do that. You are at your very worst welding when you're taking a test, Out in the field you can use the cable for your arm or file, Screw the video take the test get the job, You can always voice over. Good luck young man God- Speed.
Bro thank to your video I was able to pass x-ray full two x-ray. First time broooo thanks youuuuu
It’s raining money up in Utah for welders.
Good luck to all and have fun!!! 👊😎

What cup and electrode size do you run for monster tig all the way out?
Good job my friend ❤️❤️❤️😀 full view
Oh wow I've only done these pipe supercoupons with stick 6010 root, I didn't know that when you use TIG root you do it with a knife edge instead of grinding a landing.
Good luck bro good video

Damn I wish I had a bunch of uncles in the business, that could put me on @ places.. had to get mines out Da mud!!
Did you bring your own grinders or did they lend you theirs

Sup primo nice welds especially the stainless were is this new construction job you started at?????
I got a idea for a video do one where you show different ways to do your root. Also where to hold the wire and put the tungsten
Hey bro, when you go out to test like this, do you use your machine? Or do you use there machines?
What kinda of welder do you recommend as beginners?
could you of ground that heavy spot thin then hit it with heat to suck it back in?
Best way to tie in on the bottom so I don't get drooping
Thanks for video bro, have you ever done duplex steel? If yes what's your opinion on it?
Yessir I have I haven’t welded it in a while doe
Hey Rico any tips to breaking out as a single hand welder in the plants? I’m confident in my welding but it’s hard to get a test especially now. Thanks 🙏
you need to get a good resume....check indeed and search thee whole usa..also follow up with companys you applied for ..i know you want a plant job but dont pass up any welding job you need to get experience and the most important one NETWORK AND GET CONTACTS
HELL YEAH!!!!
🤟🏼✊🏼
I'm n Tulsa in Jacksonville...used to sell dope too...can relate
Did you test for the channelview job with Zachry brother?
Man I tig aliuminum 6 days 60 hrs a week.Love to try pipe
how much psi do you put on the stainless ?
can you do a 6g tig root vid? been struggling with it
You’re tremendous 👍🏻👨🏭🏴☠️🎥❤️👍🏻💯% !
Union Boilermakers Common Arc test are not allowed to use any power tools all you get to use is a chipping hammer and a file I always carried a worn down sawzall blade in my pocket
Can u give me some tips for a 3g bend test I’m in welding school
Been meaning to ask but what kind of Bluetooth mic do you have??
Hey bro so im trying to start saving up for a welder for my rig and I was wondering what you welder you would suggest for pipe fencing, what’s the best welder to start with. I’m looking for something affordable but also good to start with.
Depends, some factors.
Do you want gas/diesel or electric?
Are you planning on using it for field work like pipeline?
Do you have 220 or 110 capabilities?
If you run tig are you ok with lift arc or do you need functions?
Do you plan on running it for a few hours or non stop 8-12 hrs a day?
There are plenty of cheap options, and brands like miller, Lincoln, esab, Hobart are always great welders but are never budget friendly.
Quick question. I’ve watched plenty of details on welding. I’ve seen how to weld first hand and I was a pipe fitter for quite some time. What would be my advice if I can only pass with GTAW? I can’t handle stick welding on small pipe like coupons and such. Probably 1-3 inch pipe
you der need to learn stick if you can do tig you can def learn stick try going to a welding school part time
Join a union, trade school don’t teach you nearly enough 😂 I know first year apprentices with more knowledge then trade school graduates.
Typically how much time they give you on a test?
Can you do video on how to tie into tacks on root
The stainless pipe looked way to hot. Maybee it dooesent matter on the test. But in the field you should not let the pipe be so hot that you have a lot of colure. And in the end off the root you can have alot of holes in the tape and have good flow on the purge. Nice job you are skilled.
👍👍 Great!
dude i forgot the abo.
I recommend CUBITRON II grinding and flap discs - I dont want to run anything alse anymore lol
If I was able to,I’d love to do a weld out with you!
Hey man how long did it take you on that monster coupon when you tigged out? But this video was heat! 🔥🔥
Bout 2 hours bro
What was your machine on for the cap for the stainless?
i think 60amps
Call that the good ol dewalt cap.
Lmfao 🤣
Good shit
🔥🔥🔥
Lmaooooo the “riko whatafak it look like shit”😂😂
Yes sir can u show us how u organize ur tool box
got you!
In Canada you can’t grind anything down on tests, only feather tacks and a wire wheel
yeah some test are like that down here...depends on the company
I miss those Tig jobs. Been doing drilling rigs for the last few months.
damn brother i hope you land a job soon
Been welding on drilling rigs. It's all with my welding rig.
I was on rigs all last year. Now I've got a shot at a refinery job and feel like I can't weld to that standard. I'm sweatin it lol.
Which job are you going to?
Did you got to terrebonne votech?
Where can I get a pancake hood like yours?
Them monster coupons will wear your ass out I had to do 3 for Worley in lake Charles all 2" monster 1st Tig carbon all the way out 2nd stick 6010/7018 I left came back the next day and did inconel Monel Tig root and hot and stick out.
Looks like a steam pipe. I’ve done many in my day
Somebody told me u was coming to channel view Lyondell with Zachry
What the name of the company you testing for and where the job location at??
I passed smo 254 and stainless schedule 40 today
For what company is this job for ?
Keep it up man 🔥🔥🔥 i like yo welds bro 🤯🤯🤯
Thanks mane !
The vacancies for welder?
Bro used the file as a arm rest that’s big league shit right there
💯
🤟🏼
Nice
🔥🔥🔥
What do you think about union jobs? Is an apprenticeship for a fabricator/steamfitter worth it?
Yes sir...texas scale low. West and northeast scales are good. Arizona apprenticeship open their doors for new applicants. Phoenix gonna get hella hot like the Phoenix suns
@@jonbigg74 without an apprenticeship you'll never be considered as any more than "semi skilled".
Well thats how it is over this side of the Atlantic anyway 👍
@@kf8575 yes....like a white ticket tradesmen....they accepting them also....5 plus years experience
