- A 12V RV dimmer switch is yet another one of the 38 mods I featured in a recent video ( • RV Insider's Showcase!... ) that I had a request for more details, so today I'm taking a closer look at how to add a 12V dimmer switch to your RV, and this one in particular is compatible with LEDs. Now, you can add a 12V dimmer switch pretty much anywhere you've got an existing 12V switch in your RV with one major exception and requirement needed, which I'll discuss in the video. Regardless, if you have any questions, or I left any details out, let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for the detail as always.
Thank you. Can’t wait to implement this in my RV.
Question: I have the 2020 37MDQS. My dining room light is unable to dim. If I dim it, it makes a very quiet but pervasive buzzing sound or it faults and turns off. This is not the case for the valance lamp on the wall that is connected to the dining room light, just the dining light. Jayco told me it’s wasn’t meant to be dimmed; even though it’s on a dimmer.
Does yours have the same issue?
On your 2020, does it have the BMPro System, right? I forget what year they started that. I don't recall issues dimming my dining light via BMPro system on my 2021. I have not encountered a buzzing sound yet that I'm aware of, but usually when I hear buzzing I think the bulb itself may be too blame? I wonder if you swap the bulbs or remove one or both to see if that changes anything with fault? I have noticed the BMPro node seems to have some kind of smarts to detect abnormal amperage on the channels. Maybe the bulbs in fixture aren't quite 100% compatible to dim and it is buzzing as a result?
@@AdventureRocks Yes…same exact system as yours. I took it in to have it looked at. They did replace the bulb as a courtesy but the problem persists. If the valance light is cut off it doesn’t change the behavior of the dining room light. Well I’m at least glad they resolved the issue. And yes…I guess the bulbs aren’t 100% compatible. I can see how they could not catch the issue since it can take awhile to notice it.
@@mjg6377 Interesting. Well guess no candlelit dinners for you then. Sorry about that. ;)

Do you need the 10 amp fuse?
On mine, I used existing fuse that previously fed the same switch/light. Could be different depending on model/build.
