The country of Lebanon has a very unique political system owing to its religious demographics which make up approximately 27% Sunni Muslims, 27% Shia Muslims and 21% Maronite Christians. The rule is such that the president of the country always has to be a Maronite Christian, the speaker of the parliament must always be a Shia Muslim and the Prime Minister must be a Sunni Muslim. This sectarian division has caused a lot of conflicts in the country and eventually plunged the country into an unprecedented economic crisis. This video explains the location, culture, demography, history and the special political arrangement which finally led to the destruction of the country, resignation of the current government and sad events like Beirut incident.
