The Cool Way to Get to the Island in RR

I show the cool way to get to the island in RR. This makes use of a pedro spot in the tricky triangles area, which allows me to build up speed. I then jump to convert that horizontal speed to vertical speed, and fall onto the island.

I dont think so, it is just that mario's visibility is based on the global timer, and i think pannen break the star box when the global timer makes mario go invisible.

@@tubebrocoli. Iirc it's because that star is too high to be collected with a dive roll, previously relying on the chuckya to throw you into it. Landing on the box allows him to grab it by ground pounding the box from the side

Definitely. we can get to the pedro spot 0x, and assuming we can get in the pedro spot rta it should be simple. but having to hit that jump dive after 7 minutes of waiting looks insanely balls (as do most rtabc strats)

If anyone is wondering (which I doubt, considering how you are on this channel), the reason why the speed increases during the 7minutes section, is because Mario is in a so called „pedro-spot“, in which you continually „generate“ speed. This then (when jumping or performing a similar action (I think?)) translates to vertical momentum, which is why Mario is swung into the air.
I probably got 90% of that wrong, but should give you at least an idea of how this works
