  • I have just completed a solo bushwalk over 4 days in The Walls Of Jerusalem National Park in Tasmania. I was treated to a winter wonderland of fresh snow and freezing conditions. I tested out a pair of snowshoes which certainly makes walking in snow much easier. I witnessed stunning vistas and managed to record a few images that captured the magic of the place. I consider winter walking in Tasmania to be the best time to walk as you see far fewer people and can often have the whole place to yourself. On this trip I saw no one else except on my return to the car.

Curious about your boot - look like Asolo. Have you have any trouble with them. Bought a pair a bout 3 years ago but staying in storage until recently. One short walk and both soles delaminated, Asolo say that it is a known issue but want around $200 to fix them. They were comfy and thought about fixing them but concerned may happen again.

@@readeallingham1230 thanks for your reply Reade , I need a new pair of boots for trip down your way in a couple of months.Might be better throwing these out and buying a new pair, they were the most comfortable boots I've had. $200 to fix, $400 for new but with full warranty - might be a safer bet. Cheers

Hi Reade. Just thought I’d let you know I got my boots Re-soled through K2 in Brisbane. Great job too. Cheers Pete.

I'm not only enjoying the great images but also the tips in camping gear. I need another tent so thanks for the advice. I will also look into the Rab sleeping bags. Do you buy your gear online, or do you have a favorite go-to store?

Hi Richard . The Rab bag that I purchased is called a Nuetrino Pro 600. It tips the scales at just over a kilo and has a highly water resistant shell called Pertex Endurance. I ordered it from an online store in the UK called Ultralight Outdoor Gear. All items have free postage to Australia too. Hope the helps !
